I attend a small college campus and have recently became a student tutor in our Math and Science Department. I chose this job in hopes of helping students and keeping my mind fresh for graduate school.

I work once a week. Each time I find myself working closely with attractive and smart women. In a short span of time I've met a handful who have shown significant IOIs (body language, changing the topic and having playful chatter, giving me their number and asking for my help, only to meet up and chat about non-related topics). Yet, I am afraid to follow through. Not due to lack of confidence, but to two key factors.

  1. I do not want to push people away from the only tutoring lab for math and science on campus, due to creating an awkward situation (we date, break-up, etc.).

  2. I feel that if I use this as an opportunity to get laid, word will get around that I'm fucking students who come in for help. This in turn may jeopardize my job. Yet, all of them are around my age (I'm 20, the youngest girl I've met is 18), and I find myself very attracted to quite a few, especially those who show peaked interest in speaking and being around me.

So Seddit, my question: what the fuck should I do? I don't believe I can be direct in setting up dates, getting numbers, etc. In the same sense, I'm a very direct person and this leaves me feeling unsure about how to approach the situation entirely. Currently, my final conclusion is that I should remain professional until the end, not to jeopardize my job or hinder anyone's academic success, but this has left me feeling as if I'm missing out on a plethora of possibilities.
