So..I'm a little self conscious about the state of my apartment. I have a homemade bed frame, which is a little ghetto and kind of a beat up couch. I also have basically nothing in my living room/kitchen. No TV, no table for meals, one picture on the wall.

I want to give a decent first impression when I invite a girl back but I'm not sure what the "minimum" level of interior decoration is that I should aim for. I also realize I probably shouldn't aim for the "minimum" as far as interior design, but I'm fighting years of being a cheap skate.

I could do a coffee table in lieu of a dining table, but without a TV, a coffee table seems a little weird, perhaps two matching end tables that I can put together as needed?

Any thoughts on how I can make my place a little better and any furniture items I just need (i.e. a table) would be appreciated.

And perhaps on a related note, have any of you ever lost contact with a girl because you suspect they were not impressed with your domicile and if so, should you even care?
