If you think there's room to recover, send her something funny like "Did you make it back alive from your search for Bigfoot?" or "I heard you were getting chased by 3 legged dog yesterday. How did that work out?"

If she is remotely interested in you, she will respond otherwise she will think of it has a chore to respond and restart the convo.

Don't message her too often, that can became a problem real soon. Give her a day or two. Don't start the conversation with "Have you forgotten about me?" nor anything that sounds needy.
