The important thing is how you got her number. Did you already make clear, that you are romantically/sexually interested? If that is the case you can directly propose a cool idea to meet up. If you got the number in a context, where she sees you as a friend, you should set up a meeting like friends do it and try to flirt and escalate in person.
I know i'm supposed to wait 1-2 days
If you got the number in a bar/club, you should give her 24 hours to sober up. If you got the number in your daily life you should contact her on the same day.
