a friend of mine has a thing for her married boss, and he knows. He was flirting with her off and on until they had a conversation, it didn't go well. She told him that she knows he saw a text that he want suppose to see, but no worries because she's over it. He laughed and ask if she thought it was something, she said no I don't know what I thought. He said look no matter if you feel that way or not we're going to be friends. So she was hurt and starting ignoring him, he ask her why and told her that he misses talking to her she ask why is it so important for us to be friends

... so my question is

why would he want to be friends with her why keep her around
