The first rule in my mind of text-game is never leave your messages ANYTHING but open ended.
Your response after 'omg you did not' should be something along the lines of
'I just did, how about I make it bette rand we go and ~eat food or something~ to make up for having mutilated your feelings?'
Her replies here are limited to 'I don't eat food', 'I'm busy' or 'You didn't hurt my feelings' and as you can see, the focus is still on her and you're free to do and say as you wish.
She played a small mental game with you, by diverting the focus from her being tall to it being about you insulting her, she took the upper hand in the conversation leaving you the option of apologising or doubling down, neither of which would work. The only way out at that point is to equalise and then try and move forward.
Text gaming is a very very difficult art, I think. It comes down to not only what is said but also how it is said and how it can be misconstrued. The messages exist for a lasting period, which allows for some strong mental gymnastics too.
You need to be aware of not what is being said but where the focus of the conversation is going and pre-empt shooting yourself in the foot, it's very much like conversational chess.

Hmm... I see what you're saying. So would you say it's a form of shit test? How would you suggest I proceed? Ideally I would like to steer the interaction into an organic d2 invitation. Do you think I should just lay low now and drop the line at another date? Is it salvageable?
