I agree with the "keep her interested but wanting more response" but try to incorporate it in a similar way you have (finally found a good term for it - "controlled interest). Basically, I would still text her the very next day, but after the first couple of messages just never reply. Repeat this atleast once a day unless she sends another text message , which you may reply to a couple hours later.

I think it also depends on the girls self esteem. How do you think she will respond? For a very rough example, if she thinks herself as a 9 string her along for a few days, but if she sees herself as a 6, respond right away.

I prefer not to overdo texting. Until you've bedded a woman, there isn't much texting that needs to go on. Set up a date, and then keep radio silence. On Monday, I set up another date for the next Monday. I plan on texting Friday to wish a good weekend, then wait until Monday and re-confirm the dinner. She's already hooked, I can only go down from here.

In general I only text if I have a goal, date, booty call or in reply to hers. Seems to be working for me.
