I just came back from a one week trip to New York. A few days before I went to NY I started to use Tinder in that area. I got lots of matches! More matches than I had in total over the past few months I've been using Tinder in Germany, where I live. Maybe that's normal for you New Yorkers but for me it was exceptional. I've been very clear in my description that I'm not a New Yorker and that I just stay there for a week. Of course some of the women did not respond to my initial text. Maybe they did not read my description first and just matched based on the photos. That's ok. I do that, too. Some did respond and after a bit of conversation two women did stand out in particular. We've exchanged numbers so that we can continue to text on WhatsApp.

Long story short I had two dates when I was in NY which of one ended with sex. Naturally this gave me a bit of ego boost because both women were very beautiful and I'm not that successful in Germany.

So I ask myself: Why is that? Is it just the numbers like there are obviously way more people living in NY than in my area and that Tinder is known better in the US? But then again I had lots of matches with beautiful women in NY and here in Germany I had just a few and even average looking women don't match me so much. I have the impression that German women have very high expectations and are not so open minded.

Did someone else make the same experience (with German women)?
