“SEEM perfectly fine...” give it time. Your grandparents lived in a day when men and women had clearly defined roles in a relationship, in courtship, and in society. The best relationships I’ve seen have those same roles. It’s few and far between these days. Your grandparents’ generation had different life goals. No social media, no abundance of resources, communities were not as global, many families were very religious and had many kids, the social stigma for loose women was much different, and women were at home much more often while the men worked for their family to survive. The only type of “keeping up with the Joneses” was with the actual Jones family down the street, not the Kardashians or peers on Instagram. That’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as why men and women act differently these days. It’s almost quite literally a different world.

You cannot judge the situation today by the past. What people did 50 years ago is irrelevant.

You also can't really judge a marriage by people in their mid-twenties. most marriages take around 7 years to really fall apart. Some are earlier, some take longer, some never end, some just settle and resign.

All that having been said.

MGTOW isn't all that concerned with finding a "solid" relationship. It could be solid for ten years, then breaks apart.

The problem is, people change. The longer you wait for marriage, the better off you are, because people change less and less as they age. But of course, a woman's window for breeding rapidly closes as they age, so you have that problem.

One could always marry younger, but then she is going to change even if you don't.

That's the problem. People change. Most people don't know who they really are and what's really important at a young age, they generally figure it later.

So really, change is the problem. So there is not "solid" relationship. Which means the only things left are religious or social controls to keep a relationship "solid". Of course, that's just to the outside world. Just because you didn't get divorced doesn't mean you aren't in a living hell. Smiling in public and screaming at each other behind closed doors isn't unusual.

In "older" times the social fabric and laws were different. Communities were smaller. If you were going to go cheat, and get divorced as an adulterer, your church may shun you, the town my shun you, your family is embarrassed of you, etc.

So there wasn't incentive to do that. If you were a conservative religious believer, you might think that adultery was a sin and simply not engage in it.

But these days? That social fabric is gone. No one cares about adultery or if others engage in it, since it's rampant, religion is less important in people's lives, and towns and cities aren't a situation where everyone knows each other.

Awalt to a degree

Awalt means all women have X trait. Everyone is a series of sliding scales of personality traits. One woman may be more/less crazy or more/less likely to cheat or more/less money hungry than another. But the trait is there. Awalt.

Well, you will find a lot of NAWALTs in the older generations because till a certain point in time men and women used to be a team, not competitors. The relationships were healthy, complimentary and most of all respectful.

AWALT, while generally accurate, it's perhaps a bit if a misnomer. It should really be AWACOT, All Women Are Capable Of That.

And when they decide to be like that, they have the full support and backing of society and the state. So it's generally safer to assume that all women are in fact like that.

Being female in marriage in matriarchy society is like being a male in marriage when you are encouraged to cheat and getting high fives if you do, zero consequences, sure you'll hurt you female companion if had promised her monogamy.

Ofcourse some women will be loyal if you satisfy their hypergamy, there are even widows who live in celibacy after their spouse is dead, the divorce rate is not 100%.

The thing is statistically is not worth even if your SO seems 100% nawalt, and getting married in such society is like "yeah things are fine lol, let's support this bulslhit system".

As for your grandparents you will never know if she cheated on the side when she was younger. Also this is a different era. This isn't the 1950s anymore women are way different than those times. Men are dffierent to. Men are more feminized now. I saw something that said when men were in world war 2 or one of those wars many women cheated during those times. Abortion rates were at an all time high for that period. So cheating as been going on since the beginning of time.
