How’s it going gentlemen. Recently got back from deployment in December. Got to go to 7 different countries and had the time of my life. I wanted to post in here just to shed some light on the difficulties of being overseas and in a relationship. Like many of you, I thought I found the special girl and so did most of my brothers. Not even 1 month into deployment some of my buddies started receiving letters from their S/O leaving them & even selling most of their property including xbox, cars, boats and all of the things that we worked hard to make us happy. I never thought it would happen to me considering I had this wonderful girl who always stuck by my side. Fast forward 7 months later. I come back from deployment to find my girlfriend had left me and cheated on me with a guy from SDSU for 5 months. My closest friends of 7 in my fireteam were either dating or married to their significant other & only 1 of the girls hadn’t cheat on him or left him. I guess what I’m trying to say is AWALT & GYOW. There was a low point where my dad had passed away while I was in Africa and I really needed to talk to someone so I reached out to my girlfriend only to find out she was with another guy months later. I’m still recovering and have posted in /suicidewatch and a few other places but I hope to leave that all behind me. Take care of each other because we’re all we got. Most guys are either stuck in the blue pill mindset or too caught up to catch what these women are doing to our lives.
