Last week I went to a movie at a popular Multiplex. It was Saturday and needless to say, there were a lot of couples and families who were amongst the audience. It all seemed well and good until the advertisements were running and the hall was partially full, but,

As soon as more people walked into the theatre, all I could hear was kids crying and screaming in their god awful squeaker sound nagging the father to get them soft drinks and running around the theatre. I thought it would settle down once the movie begins, but NO, they would still be running and squeaking, not to mention the look of embarassment on the father. The mother would just ask the kids to return to their seats as if those devil spawns would listen to her.

I'm not sure if this is a thing in American cinemas or in other parts of the world, but we usually have a movie break (Intermission) where you could go out to get snacks and use the restroom for about 10-15 mins and the movie would resume. They usually play ads in low volume so I was able to hear a conversation from a couple sitting next to me.

The girl absolutely refuses to go out and serve herself with a soft drink or popcorn and insists that the guy should go out and get them for her, because it's a "Man's thing". She wouldn't even split the bill and I'm sure the guy bought the tickets for both of them. Need I say how expensive refreshments are in a multiplex?

As for me, I was thoroughly enjoying the movie and laughing to my heart's content and deeply involved in every scene without some nagging kid or girl sitting next to me, trying to disturb me or get something for them.

GYOW gentlemen!
