This is a hypothesis I thought of.

In the past, girls were disciplined for bad behaviors, with their fathers putting their foot down and telling them what is wrong and right. The men were also firm with their wives and their wives respected them. This created an image to the girls that women should respect men since men are the laborers and the breadwinners. Every member is to do their part.

However, with feminism and nonsense, men are becoming soy and cucked. Men allowed women to control them, their finances and force them into compliance. Fathers are too afraid to speak out and stand for themselves. Added to that is parents wanting to be 'friends' with their kids, instead of doing the necessary discipline to teach the kids morals.

Will expand more on this if I have the time, but this is the abridged version of my thoughts.
