Reuenthal was redpilled as fuck. One of my favorite characters in LOGH along with the most logical and intelligent character in the show, Paul von Oberstein.
I have seen so many different anime series and nothing even comes close to the excellent characterization and themes discussed in the original 1988 version of Legend of The Galactic Heroes.

I want to say because during the 90's, characters started all funneling into what became standard anime tropes. Maybe it's because I don't consume much anime any more, but I can't think of anything since the 00's that doesn't use anime tropes. And while the settings can vary quite wildly, the characters all end up as not being particularly human, since while they may not be one dimensional, they're also not particularly well rounded.

The 88 version? I wonder if they removed that in the 2018 remake.
