I used to think the same way. I didn't want to be associated with the name MGTOW because of the image we have as sexists assholes, or worse incels, even though technically I was a MGTOW already by the definition, since I wasn't interested in ever having a relationship.

But as I spent time on this sub I've come to realize the gravity of what some of these men have had to go through. I'm incredibly fortunate that I came to MGTOW before I could make a life-destroying mistake. I began to realize that when men who've gone through the wringer say "My wife took everything" they aren't exaggerating AT ALL. These are men who devoted their entire existence to their family. He spends all day working for her and the kids, and then in the rare moments when he has time to himself, he's expected to spend that time with her, or helping around the house. Those rare moments get less and less frequent as she continues to expect more and more from him. But it isn't enough. It's never enough. And as hard as it is, and as soul-crushing as it should be, he loves her. He does all this happily. Because his biology is programmed to derive satisfaction from providing for a family.

But how does she repay him for basically giving himself to her completely? She gets bored of him. She's lonely. While he's at work, she's missing the constant companionship of a boyfriend. Never mind that the time he's spending at work is entirely to support her lavish lifestyle. And even though he's doing so much for her, she'll begin to resent him. Because it's never good enough, that's just how hypergamy works. She might even realize that her resentment is unjustified and begin to feel guilty, but women can't process guilt, so she'll make excuses for herself. It's never her fault.

Then she'll see some chad out in public and remember what she had back when she was riding the cock carousel. And she'll cheat. And then she'll feel guilty, but again she can't process that guilt so she turns it around on him. She can't be responsible for anything, if she cheated then he must be doing something wrong to cause her to cheat. And so the relationship deteriorates as he continues to slave away for her, and receive only resentment in return.

And then it happens. The divorce. And the courts will side with her to an absurd degree. And she'll take the kids too, and maybe even the house. And in one fell swoop EVERYTHING he's provided for her she takes. And she hates him for it, so she'll use the courts to fuck him even harder. It's not enough to take everything he has NOW, she also has to continue to benefit from his tireless labor for years after, sometimes even DECADES depending on how hard the long dick of alimony and child support is. And so even after she's committed this ultimate betrayal, he has to know that every day he spends at work, another chunk of his life is stolen away from him.

So when you say:

You are making the worlds biggest understatement. This isn't mere "personal frustration". This is legitimate psychological trauma. This is to be expected from someone who had their whole life taken from them by the very person they loved more than anyone. That sort of trauma NEEDS an outlet. And this sub is one such outlet.

As much as I'm sure many of us would love MGTOW to "flourish" as you put it, that isn't the point of MGTOW. The point of MGTOW is that it's a personal decision. It doesn't NEED to flourish. Sure it'd be great if it did, because that might turn the tides against some of the unjust laws that continue to hurt men to this day. Even those of us who go MGTOW aren't completely safe from it anymore. But at the end of the day MGTOW is still a personal decision. Our primary concern is to look out for number 1, and if that means venting on the internet, then so be it.

Fuck that. Your message is well intentioned but it is rooted in blue pill conditioning you aren't (apparently) even aware of.

You come here and see men with voices. Men with opinions and the backbone to offer them freely without censor.

Your blue pill conditioning tells you this is 'toxic'. You've been trained your whole life to be the mediator, to chastise men for being men. Now you're starting to wake up but that brain washing is ever present, poisoning your perception.

For literal millennia, men have built each other up with brutal words and broken teeth. We've exerted our influence on society by chastising those that didn't act responsibly, shaming when appropriate and bashing as needed.

This has the effect of forging strong willed men that learned how to be responsible with their strength during puberty. This has the effect of keeping society in check, acting responsibly and mature.

Then Feminism emerged and our generation (millennials) became a social experiment. A failed social experiment.

We've had our masculinity stripped from us, had our voices silenced. We've had our tools for forging character outlawed and the end result is a generation of soyboys completely incapable of using their strength responsibly.

We are seeing, and will continue to see, a rise in young men snapping. Having not learned how to control their power. Having been rendered invisible and forgotten and without a foundation of maturity gained via friendly bullying (because that's SOooo toxic!) They simply can't control the testosterone boiling within and lose it.

And you want more?

Sure, you have a point. We'd have a much more acceptable PR image of we toned it down. Put some nice flowers out and used kid gloves on everyone but then we're just be adding to the problem facing society.

We're offensive for reasons beyond rage my friend. I know it's unsettling seeing men being men without the restrictions society has placed on us but get used to it!

Point is. We don't want society to see us as friendly and inviting. We don't want to play their game because that's how our society wound up here in the first place.

Life is more nuanced than that. You have to look past your conditioning to see reality.
