First time poster, throwaway account, english is not my native language. You know the drill :)

TLDR; I had a great weekend with old friends, decided to contact each other more frequently, talked into creating facebook account, checked out exes/people from the past, deleted the account.

Just for background, I'm going on my way since 5 years and I don't think I've been as happy as I'm right now.

I never celebrated my birthday, because I don't think it's a special day, but my best friend friend talked me into it and we celebrated last week the whole weekend. Turned out to be a great idea since I'm living abroad (in Europe, so my family and old friends are relative near) and I took out some vacation to visit my family and catch up with old friends.

My best friend, whom I know since I was 7 is a great guy and he invited 2 of my older friends from high school. It's a little bit early and cold in the middle of march, but we went to a lake to swim, drink, make and eat a shitload of hamburgers near the campfire and catch up. So none of us are married and each of us went on our way. I'm only aware of the MGTOW community for about 3 months, but I've been living this way for 5 years.

So we told our stories, where we are right now. I graduated CS and I'm working as an C/C++ lead developer, about to be an architect and I also have a side project which starts to be a full time business. My best friend has his own auto repair shop, has 10 employees and is very well off, the others have also their businesses. Both of them have huge farms and forest, they really like agriculture.

When we got to the relationships/girls topic we had a great laugh. I directly avoided girls for 5 years, because my last breakup was devastating and I've been cheated on 3 times. I couldn't be called remotely a beta, since I was immune to the nagging and emotional manipulation and not to be a bragging douche, but I'm aware of my charisma, but ended up cheated upon anyway. The others laughed their asses off in a bittersweet manner, since they experienced the same with the girls.

We went on and on, and once it got to the point, that we really missed each other and we should really make things like this weekend. Go on hiking, snowboarding and so on. I could not easily be contacted, because I only have email and I talk only on the phone and the others asked on which platform can they reach me and one of them suggested me to create a facebook account. I've never been on facebook, it's a waste of time but I created an account to keep up with the guys.

After the weekend I went to visit my parents, it was also great but a little bit boring. Parents are great but they tell stories you've been told 100 times, so I got litte bit bored and I checked facebook. I know, it's not the best idea, but I checked up my exes. They got fat, one of them got married and had a child with a bloke, who looks miserable. Self-loathing, ego boosting etc.

I went on and looked up my high school classmates (I've never been on class reunion bullshits since graduation) and I had a great laugh. The guys are mostly okay, about 50% are married, but it was remarkable, that the married ones looked way more miserable than the others on average. I looked up the girls as well, they went to ride the CC and ended up as cashiers, call-center agents near my hometown. There was only one exception, one of the girls graduated CS as well as she is well off. But her husband looks also miserable. :D

I wouldn't say that it wasn't fun, but I noticed that indulging in such activity doesn't make my life better. But to be honest a litte bit of Schadenfreude is always great. :) So I had enough, deleted my account and wrote an email to the boys to use something else instead (Skype,Viber etc.).

Never thought, that I can find a community, where there are people with the same experience like me regarding women and speak up, because it's a societal taboo in general. There is definitely a trend with marriage/relationships, there can be apparent exceptions, but at the end of the day AWALT.

I appreciate you beautiful bastard as much as I appreciate my friends. GYOW and look after your friends and family, keep focusing on what you love and what you are living from and have a great life.

Cheers!

:)

[EDIT1]: I forgot the most important thing! Cheers to the 100K!
[EDIT2]: And I also forgot to mention, that there are way more that 100K men around, who are MGTOW but aren't aware of it. WAAAYYYY MORE THAN 100K!
