Teaching the novel Of Mice and Men to my students, I realized this is an exemplar text to teach any young man.

The two central characters have a long-term financial plan (buying their own ranch). They stay away from the whorehouses and the only female character (Curley's wife) is literally labeled a "tart" (whore) Their plan almost comes to fruition until Curley's wife tries to seduce Lennie.

Essentially, read this novel with your son's, nephews, or hell just read it yourself and always remember why you should GYOW.
