Really short, but The Art of War by Sun Tzu is, pound for pound, perhaps the most useful thing I've ever read.

The Secret Life of the Cheating Wife: Power, Pragmatism, and Pleasure in Women's Infidelity by Alicia M. Walker

Any man who could seriously still consider marriage after reading this book is just a special kind of stupid. The women interviewed for the book basically admit that they only stay with their husbands for resources, and view them as nothing more than convenient utilities. It is an incredibly enlightening (and infuriating) read.
