Frankly used cars don't cost a lot. Buying new card is pretty silly from a financial perspective.

I've had good used cars. Except for a 2000 Chevy Malibu that at one point managed to leak antifreeze inside the engine and I had to have the engine cleaned out. Even the mechanic highly suggested that I get another vehicle because I would be lucky if this one lasted another year. And lo and behold, a year later, the oil light came on and the engine crapped again. This time I didn't bother and tried to sell it for scrap, which I struggled because all the junkyards were full of Chevy Malibus and they couldn't take another one. I finally sold it for $250 to a gentleman who presumably was going to take it to Mexico to chop it up.
