Step #1: Assess "her" role in your life. What is she doing that brings you so much happiness?
At the same time, assess what is not so happy and troubling you about it. We probably know the answer to that, it is causing severe withdrawal symptoms. Now what's the difference between "her" and a bottle of whiskey? Or heroine? Or cigarettes?
The best answer I can find to this is that she's a living person and she's got feelings, but in all other matters she's like any other form of addiction that destroys a human being.
Step #2: Once you realize the fact that it's nothing more than an addiction, remember : It's possible to replace one addiction with another. And that's the only reason people resort to drinking and taking drugs to "forget" her.
But we don't want to go down that path. Find something that you like to do, playing video games, watching movies, or even going out for bicycle ride.
Make that activity your addiction. Not only that, make it your personal goal to master that addiction, platinum that game, watch complete Bleach anime in one week, or do a 10km bicycle ride in one day. Feel that sense of accomplishment, that's the feeling of self improving and achieving something that you will value for the rest of life.
Please keep in mind this post doesn't intend to degrade the role of women in our lives to a pack of cigarettes. I only request you to understand and create a retrospective of how the obsession is affecting your life. Understanding yourself and the factors the affect you is extremely crucial in knowing which path you want to take.
Thanks for reading. Keep self improving and work towards betterment of yourself as well as others.
