This is absolutely unacceptable. The speed with which they have disqualified him from the competition is shocking and completely inappropriate for this kind of event. They have, more or less, thrown this artist to the wolves within HOURS of an accusation. According to the Dutch article you linked the artist was barred from practice and from attending the jury ceremony IMMEDIATELY after the accusation. Even before the police got involved. Effectively ending his participation.

Am I to understand that all it takes to literally remove a competitor from this competition is for a female employee to speak ill of them? The swiftness of the destruction of this artist's participation in this event is mind-blowing. Its like you go out to lunch and come back and suddenly the Dutch participant in Eurovision has been completely disqualified under mysterious and unexplained circumstances?

I don't know a lot about Eurovision or the rules and regulations that govern its functioning. But this kind of heavy handed disqualification should have serious repercussions to their legitimacy as an international competition. They should not have completely disqualified him before actually performing a real investigation. Even if that investigation is separate from the police one. Or waited for the police investigation to at least release preliminary evidence/explanation of what happened.

This screams to me of internal bias and discrimination on behalf of the employees, event organizers, and staff members of the Eurovision team. That they would literally end this artist's entire run in the competition on the hearsay of some female employee... How can any male artist going forward ever trust their organization again? What kind of protections can they possibly have from this? When literally saying the wrong words to a female employee can end your competition IN HOURS. Without transparency or oversight.

Its a joke.

THANK YOU for posting this as I wanted to but had tough day and too fatigued.

Here's the FACTS-The FEMALE camera operator BROKE a PROMISE made to the performers by following a male performer OFF stage-and into his dressing room!

He responded by "making a gesture" (the words of the organisers themselves who banned him)-but DID NOT even TOUCH her (again, these are the organisers own words).

So ask yourself-swap the genders, where a MALE cameraman follows a FEMALE performer offstage and into her dressing room, BREAKING agreed rules they had made...

Now tell me which person would be getting smeared as the "bad person"??!! Its the CAMERA person isnt it. Genders reversed means the they would have kicked out the CAMERA operator...

..but "fembynism", so "der manz is der evil one" yet again in the eyes of the world..

they should have let him compete and if it was true disqualified him after. to not let him compete essentially means that a woman can accuse a man simply because she doesn't like his song
