If you are a foreigner planning to marry an Indian woman, take a deep breath and read this carefully. This is not hate. This is a survival manual. Because once things go wrong, you will realise the Indian legal system does not give justice. It gives revenge.
Let me introduce you to Pascal Mazurier. He was a French diplomat in India. Married, father of three, respected career. In 2012, his Indian wife Suja Jones accused him of raping their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Sounds unthinkable, right? No one would lie about something like that?
Well, the Karnataka High Court judgment in 2025 paints a completely different picture.
The court found that Suja had already met NGOs, doctors, psychologists, and lawyers even before the incident allegedly happened. She had the FIR legally drafted in advance. Her entire case was prepared before she ever went to the police.
Medical reports showed the child had a bacterial infection, pinworms, and some scratch marks. There was no sign of trauma, no conclusive medical evidence of sexual abuse. DNA tests found Pascal's semen on clothes, but the daughter's DNA was completely absent from those clothes. That is not just strange. It proves she did not wear them. Which means the clothes were planted.
But the most disturbing part is this. The daughter herself admitted in court that her mother promised her chocolates and a picnic if she said what she was told to say. Yes, she was bribed to lie about her own father.
Despite this, Pascal was dragged through Indian courts for over a decade. He was acquitted in 2017. That should have been the end. But it took until 2025 for the High Court to confirm his acquittal and dismiss the appeal.
What did Pascal get in the end? A clean chit from the courts. But by that time he had already lost everything. He lost his diplomatic job. His career ended. He lost access to his children. His reputation was destroyed. And he spent over 13 years fighting a case that should never have existed. The fallout of that accusation will likely follow him for the rest of his life. This is not just a legal case. It is a 21-year sentence for being innocent.
So here is the takeaway for any foreign national planning to marry an Indian woman. Even if she takes citizenship in your country, even if things are fine today, you must take preventive steps.
Never allow your children to visit India. Do not make India part of any family travel plan. Do not issue any passport to them that can be used to take them to India. Because once your children are in India, they can be legally taken away from you. One false complaint and you could be stuck in a legal mess that will eat up your entire life. You will be running from court to court while your embassy offers you nothing but a printed booklet on your rights.
In your country, women get justice. In India, women get power to destroy and take revenge. Pascal Mazurier was innocent. Even the courts confirmed it. Yet his life was ruined.
So marry carefully. Plan cautiously. And above all, protect your future and your children from the reach of Indian laws. Because once you are inside the system, there is no going back.
