Greetings all, I have been on this subreddit for a while now and thought you guys would like to hear what happened in my speech class. The class mainly focuses on how to be better people in the workplace or classroom. Anyway on Tuesday, we were discussing stereotypes. And as an exercise my professor told us to write the first word that comes to mind on a piece of paper when she listed a specific group.

This was in a class that was half woman/men. The first one was feminist. And the last ones were stay at home mom and stay at home dad. To my surprise when the teacher read our (anon) responses out loud, the feminist were mostly negative comments. There were responses such "bitchy, crazy women". A couple said "bullies". There were a lot of responses like "dumb", "mean", and even "fags." There was one neutral response at the end which said "civil rights activist."

It was pretty standard for stay at home mom. "hard working", "kind", "responsible", and even "hot."

The stay at home dad also got a lot of positive results such as "responsible","cool", "awesome." but got some bad ones such as "lazy."

Anyway, these results somewhat surprised me. My classmates are, however, young, so that may contribute to the responses.
