Racism against young black college men shows at least 95% of accusations of rape against them at college are false.

When a crazy young man kills Jews we blame the White supremacist group he follows (rightly so) so when a crazy young woman kills her male children because she follows feminism, shouldn't we blame feminism?

Can any defenders of the idea that feminism is "nice" explain to me why feminists advocate for genocide of men so often that they've had to shorten the phrase "Kill All Men" to it's initials, "KAM"?

I thought the photos were more interesting than the article that linked to them.

http://www.filmsforaction.org/articles/touch-isolation-how-homophobia-has-robbed-all-men-of-touch/

The thesis is that turn of the century ideas about homosexuality resulted in a change in how society viewed men touching other men, which led to a modern day physical isolation of men from each other.

It doesn't mention men's similar isolation from children and women.

I vaguely recall a documentary mentioning a specific case in the UK where a famous man was charged with the crime of homosexuality (or whatever the crime was called) and that had a chilling effect on male affection because men were afraid that they would get arrested.

Alan Turing maybe? He's been in the news a lot because of the movie about him.

What's weird was I thinking the exact same thing that article is about just by looking at the photos.

My expectation is that male suicide rates will continue to go up over the next few decades. Right now just about the only socially accepted emotional/physical contact for men is with their wives and marriage rates are plummeting.

Very often the only friend men have later in life is their wife.

Those pictures are nice.

For the past few weeks I've been thinking about this topic. Not in the context of two straight men, but a gay man and straight man. And them being able to touch each other comfortably and it not be sexual to either of them. Just a strong friendship with affection.

Always found it difficult to have male friends. So maybe that's why. Thanks for sharing these.

I actually think being a gay man has made it easier for my straight male friends to be more affectionate and physically close over the years.

Keeping in mind that I'm now 28 and I've largely surrounded myself with "modern" people of my generation may give you an idea of my particular social circles (and YMMV).

While despite being thoroughly modern fellows these guys otherwise demonstrate the typical male distance with friends. I think in some way my being openly gay has seemed to give these guys permission to transgress those boundaries by way of indulging their "gay friend". Nothing sexual but just being physically affectionate; hugging without an excuse like booze, casual touch during conversation. Even silly little stuff like leaving on one another on the sofa while watching a movie instead of maintaining that weird 3 inch buffer zone that men always seem to have on a 2 seater sofa even if discomfort is required to maintain it.

To me this all seemed so normal and common because my gay male friends have always been comfortable with that kind of contact. But apparently this kind of basic human expression of affection is something lacking in many men's lives to the point where an excuse or social permission slip is needed to even contemplate it.

I think that's a little sad.

Interesting. Anyone think they might just be trolling the future? "Hey, lets all pose like gay guys and confuse the shit out of our descendants".

I mean, its unlikely, but would be hilarious if true.

"...and don't smile in any of these photos either. Let's see if we can make them believe everyone is grumpy and gay"

Interesting, nice find. Women of that era seemed more stand offish in photos than the men.
