Yes, and once again they, in their interpretation of the data tend to rationalize results rather than utilizing scientific method to simply demonstrate the results.
The glaring difference here is that chimps do not pair bond, but basically orgy through life, have no idea who fathered whom, and have lives governed not by reason or thought, but basic instinct. Did they explore the possibility that older females, experienced, are more accepting of male advances, show more "pink" butt?
Chimpanzees live in multi-male, multi-female communities. The females may mate with multiple males, and the males thus generally treat all offspring as if they were their own, since there is no way to know for sure. Females have a bright pink bottom that signals to males when they are fertile.
I remember Margaret Meade claiming that fatherhood is a social construct that does not exist in nature, and then reasoned that it had no place in society, that fathers' were unnecessary...and we see today the results of such folly.
What they tend to avoid in their discussions that point to "nature" is that humans are not chimps, or monkeys, lions, tigers, or bears. We do not cull the weak, we care and protect them. We do not kill and eat the wounded, but heal them. There are no animal cops or firefighters to protect the herd when the lions come stalking. We share some valid aspects, but are not the same.
We can research and compare similarities and differences. The Kruger Park experiment is one such case where similarities can be reasoned and run parallel with the human, but others simply cannot be. So social constructs within a society are, in fact, a normal, or natural aspect of the species mankind...and all data that addresses this issue demonstrates the abnormality of such a separation and the consequences to the species, and the civilization that result.

who made the rule?
women did. they didn't want men who were young, inexperienced, immature and without careers. They wanted men with high paying jobs, who own homes, who can provide comfortable lifestyles for them.
and men did. the young women (from above) started offering themselves to them and essentially outbidding the older women with very little to offer.

It's not a rule, it's a trend, and it's fueled from both sides. Men look for beauty and fecundity, which trends towards youth. Women look for money, status and security, which trends towards middle age.

I'm in my 30s, and for some reason, significantly unattracted to women my age or older. This is literally at a psychological level and very hard to control!
