I know how RP theory is about dropping female friends if they add no value or if you supplicate to them a lot, even though she's someone I used to date. While she spends a lot of money on me, I do invest a little time in her in return.

She's spending money on you. Forget the anti-materialism propaganda. That is adding value.

Also, what do you mean that she spends "a lot" of money on you while you invest "a little" time in her. Also, "in return"? Does that mean you invest time back in her obligatorily because of the money/presents she gives you?

Maybe it's just your weak language, but you don't make it sound like she's actively trying to take advantage of you.

I ask, is this acceptable behavior? What would be RP approach? I see her again on Nye. I messed up my last relationship by texting too much and showing too much interest.

You might have left some important details out, Nothing you wrote specifically makes it sound like you're investing way too much into her. It's only implied by the mere fact that something this trivial is cause for concern.

I personally don't think boys can be friends with girls, unless you plan on sleeping with them (in that case you wouldn't approach them as a friend anyway).

Honestly, you should still be able to have one or two friends of the female variety. They will offer things to you that you can't get from your guy friends. Just don't treat them the same as a guy friend.

You don't ask them to help you move, but if you're down and you need to talk about your emotions, you should have at least one girl that is willing to listen. If she's that girl though, know that you will never bang her, so go into it with that frame. This girl is your confidant and your psychologist, not your lover. Do not fall in love with her, just see her as a girl you can be emotionally intimate with.

Girls are different than guys and their friendship offers different benefits. But they have benefits, just remember that.

It doesn't sound like your relationship is one-sided in your description, but this is a red flag. There's nothing wrong with pulling back if you feel taken advantage of.
