I have recently been doing more cold approaches. There was a girl who I got a number from while with a friend. I texted her an hour after with "Hey, this is SnugglySadist." She responded with "Hey, I'm sorry but I have a boyfriend. I really didn't want to embarass you in front of your friends. I'm terrible with being put on the spot, I admire your confidence though."

I see two options. 1: next. 2: say something like "I have a cat, doesn't stop me from going on dates." Would either of these be appropriate? Is there a different option that I am not seeing?
