Thoughts on military?

5 years in as Air Force Military Police and coming up on the end of my enlistment. Not going to humble brag just throwing benefits I’ve seen.

I’m 24, have a paid off car, 30 grand saved up, lived in South Korea, England, Germany and have had deployments to Africa and Qatar. I’ve travelled the world, competed in body building, banged more people than I can count, and made better friends than I’ll ever get the chance to again. I get to go to college the following year with 0 debt and graduate with 0 debt.

Cons: It’s not for everyone. You’d have to let me know which branch you’re considering before I can give you a rundown.

Obama transformed it into a politicaly correct indoctrination camp. Also there should be another big war around the corner given the economic slide.

Don’t join if you just want free school. Try rotc instead or the military academies, you’ll be an officer instead, and still get free school. I’ll be joining soon as an officer but didn’t do rotc or the academies (ocs instead). I didn’t miss out on the college experience and had a decent full time job afterwards that helped me pay for the loans I had. Plus they’ll pay for any advanced school if I want that too. I’m joining because I want the experience and to go after my dream of being a SF guy.

America is going to go through a recession in the upcoming years. Like another commenter stated, war is around the corner. You decide if the military is worth school and housing.

It's certainly a way to go, if you're just in it for the school apply for the navy. Navy has some great experiences traveling with shore leave. Also an easier basic, and you're more likely to land a technical job like welding or some kind of maintenance position on the ship which is always a great thing to have in your back pocket should you ever get tired of working in an office.
