If this is an actual friend who keeps running their mouth but is otherwise a cool and valuable person, not just some useless asshat who you need to ghost, consider taking a road trip with them to a state with permitted mutual combat law if you’re not already in one and challenging them to fight. Make a day of it.

Or just wrestle them.

I'm not joking. Seriously, if they're actually a decent friend but just have a habit of being an overactive douche, physically molesting them into submission with an armbar can work wonders for giving them perspective. First year I knew him, one of my best buddies used to never be able to make it through an afternoon without talking shit. That all changed after I clasped my hands together with my left arm hooked under his neck and my right arm under his leg with the full weight of my back crushing his torso on the ground. That's the only way some guys learn. It's like disciplining an unruly dog with a swat on the snout. We've grown so far out of touch with this very natural and effective hierarchy setting ritual as a social animal.

If they're too much of a bitch for all that then just return fire with better roasts until they fuck off.

you improve your social skills and deal with it. I had a friend respond to an obvious joke, seriously, in my friends group chat the other day and instead of reacting to what he was saying I made it even more ridiculous. The guy who wins the pissing competition is the one who cares the least
