Hi guys,
This is my situation:
Im 26 years old, had been in a LTR for 4 years. We moved in together after the first year. She is my first and only woman, meaning I've only had sex with this woman. Six months ago I moved to a different country for a new job and have been living alone since then.
I'm pretty much sure that when it comes to compatibility its going to be extremely difficult for me to find a woman like her. We were good friends, we had good sex, we shared a lot of interests. She really cared about me and loved me. We had a great relationship. I was sure that she was "the one" for me.
However, as time passed in our relationship I started to feel like I was missing out, that I had gotten into a "marriage" with my first woman at an early age! I started to feel lots of desire to meet more women, to explore more options, etc... That was actually one of the reasons why I moved to this new country, I wanted to experience freedom again. So, we broke up.
Being here alone has been very difficult, I had a lot of support from this woman, Ive been sick, anxious, depressed, etc. Ive tried to meet more women but havent had success so far, Im not really into dating apps, Ive approached some women in the streets, made a couple friends, but it seems very difficult to find a woman that I really like and has real interest in me. And deep inside I feel that they wont meet the standards that my previous girlfriend has set up in my life. She was just great!
I've been reading The Rational Male and undestand that I've been a victim of oneitis. I used to think that this girl is the one. Now I think that I could find other great women, that would be a great match for me, but thats extremely difficult because of my personality type and I dont know if its worth it knowing that Ive already found a great woman.
I have kept contact with this woman, we still have feelings for each other and the relationship is not over to be honest, I think we both keep some hopes that we'll get back together.
Should I quit on my desire to meet more women and settle with this one? By doing so I would be sacrificing the joy that could come from diversity for having more stability in my life and the support to meet some more important goals in my life (career wise, health wise).
...or should I keep pushing trying to get into other relationships to see if I can find someone that makes me feel satisfied again?
At the end I just want to avoid having regrets, I dont want to spend a lot of time, energy and resources in random girls only to mess up and then regret leaving a good woman.
Please advise!!!
Thanks!
