You've probably heard of "human kickstarter goal" Chris Avellone, a prominent writer in Fallout 2 and New Vegas and famed lead writer of Planescape Torment. Last year Chris was accused of various misdeeds on social media by two women, Karissa Barrows and Kelly Bristol.

Chris handled this poorly at the time, instead of coming out swinging he gave in to shock and despair and didn't refute the accusations.

Chris was to ultimately be dropped from every project he was working on, including Dying Light 2 on which he was also a prominent writer. His legacy was sullied, with interviews he'd made in relation to Beamdog's rerelease of Planescape Torment being removed without ceremony or explanation.

A few months later, a youtube video refuting the accusations was released. Via detective work, the creator was able to put many of the accusations against Chris in a very dubious light. Dates, times and locations mentioned in accusations were often incorrect. Trustworthy witnesses were present who did not report any of the behaviour alleged by accusers.

Chris remained silent for almost a year and finally broke his silence last week. In his twitter thread, Chris refutes the accusations in detail, thanks his friends and family for preventing him from doing anything silly whilst depressed and announces his intention to fight these accusations in court.

In typical fashion, the media were extremely fast to report on his alleged guilt, but have been slow to report on his fight to clear his name (though it has now hit a few more mainstream sites). Erik Kain of Forbes was the first to do so and has been attacked relentlessly ever since.

Well, he can probably get a six- or seven-figure judgement against them in his libel action, but I doubt they have any assets worth the trouble to collect.

Mike Pence got all kinds of shit from the lefturd press for his policy of never being alone with any woman who isn't his wife, but that's looking smarter every day.
