I dont live in Japan but I lived in Asia for a few years and have traveled to Japan and surrounding countries several times and can give a little insight. Do take this with a grain of salt since this is what I personally noticed.

Gaming in Asia is completely different in my opinion as opposed to the states (originally from California). In the US we need to act the alpha and knock the girl down a few pegs and show that were higher value than her. Generally we neg, poke fun, cocky-funny, etc. In Asia, women are generally viewed as inferior so I personally think they may not feel like theyre better than you. Instead i noticed if you be nice, compliment them, and being a gentleman theyll open up to u. Obviously if theyre very high value girls and act it, neg away (personally i do cocky-funny for my personality). Almost every asian country ive been to, being nice has been FAR MORE effective than trying to game them.

As for language barrier, all schools teach basic english as its part of their curriculum except theyre all too scared to use it/practice it. Best way to fix this is learn some Japanese phrases and words. Show them you're trying to learn Japanese (and failing) and theyre more willing to try their english and fail along. Try stuff like:

what's your name? my name is....
I bet my Japanese is better than yours
(in english) Hi! What's your name? (most times they will act confused or lost or act like they can't speak english) in Japanese What's your name (make sure to struggle and possibly mix up a syllable or two) in Japanese did i say that right? (main thing is to make her laugh and go from there)

Trying to learn something together with her will make her feel more comfortable and then you build attraction. Oh yea, out there it seems comfort first then attraction works better.

If anything, game most girls as if they were 5/6's back in the states or wherever youre from. Again, this is from personally experience so dont expect this to be foolproof
