Everyone should read Lone Nut Comics. The latest comic from Lone Nut exposes the truth about equal pay for “equal” work.
I understand completely what this comic is talking about. No matter where I have worked women have never done equal work to men if they did any work at all. Affirmative action and the threat of lawsuits are a big part of the problem. As bad as those are what generally doesn’t get talked about is what I call “crypto-affirmative action” for women. Think of the jobs that are held mostly or nearly all by women. Jobs like HR, government bueracrats, various “administrative” jobs, pointless private sector “jobs” because of expanding government, etc. These jobs are completely unnecessary. The little real work they actually do can be replaced by a simple computer program. All these jobs have something in common. Since they involve little if any real work, “work” must be invented. That’s why you get “diversity” bullshit from HR and expanding government.
I won’t be holding my breath to see equal work from women anytime soon.
