In life, many men focus on effort: working harder, pushing more, or simply being more aggressive.
Effort matters, of course, but consistent winners don’t just work hard: they move and think strategically. Strategic thinking is the ability to look beyond the immediate action, predict the long-term consequences, and position yourself for maximum leverage and minimal effort.
Most men think they’re strategic.
But few are truly strategic at a high level. And high-level strategic thinking is almost an unfair advantage in life.
We’ll show you to think strategically like the top 0.1% with three real-life case studies:
- Win a Competitive Job Interview by leveraging social dynamics you might not even realize are in play
- Engineer Financial Freedom with long-term decision-making
- Master Seduction by controlling the emotional arc of a date to build deep connection and attraction.
Let’s dive in:

Story 1: Getting My Dream Job
After graduating, I had been shortlisted for a talent rotational program in Prague.
I wanted that job badly, and to get it, I had to ace the assessment center.
While the bulk of the work was done with preparation, presentation, and general high-power behavior, here are two advanced moves that helped:
Socialize with the attractive girl, but leave early to signal you’re not a player
It was six of us: five men, and a woman.
If that wasn’t enough to grab attention, she was also a typical Swede with blond hair and sparkling blue eyes.
During our socialization lunch break I made sure to talk to her, and get some good vibes.
That displayed:
- Confidence to talk and vibe with the attractive girl
- Social charm to get an attractive girl invested in you
BUT I also ensured not to get too close or flirty or, God forbid, exchange contacts.
And I also ended it myself to socialize with the other guys.
Why?
It’s not to be ‘professional’; it runs deeper.
Besides two female HR managers there were many senior managers to ‘assess’ us.
And some high-status men feel like they are owed the women’s attention in their teams, not men below them.
These men may also be more possessive, and they see charming men as competition. High status men don’t to hire competition, they want to get rid of it.
If you think ‘this is petty’, answer this:
What runs deeper in a man’s psyche, sex and reproduction, or being a good professional and company allegiance?
Of course some men will be good professionals. But many others won’t. So I played it for those who don’t.
Leverage The Loner To Display Prosocial Leadership
During the break, a guy remained at his seat, and wasn’t socializing.
Why do you think I went to talk to him?
Because it was the perfect chance to display pro-social leadership and kindness. This is especially something that more empathic women in HR note.
It also worked for the more senior managers.
Everyone likes kind people, and it’s not only for ‘good’ reasons.
Kind people tend to be less cutthroat, less competitive, and… Kind people are lower competition. Exactly what the most alpha types assessing that day may prefer.
Today, with the hindsight of years of experience, I would have even improved on that move.
Can you think how?
I should have built some rapport with that loner, and then said ‘Oh you’re interested in Y? That guy there is the same, come, I’ll introduce you’.
That signals you’re the type of leader who notices the weak link, helps him up, and brings him back into the team.
That’s the dream empathic team manager who gets the most out of the team.
Story 2: Dream Life Pursuing My Mission
This is how I went from employed to entrepreneur, doing what I love, and living life on my terms.
My goals were to:
- Adventures and travels
- Purchase a flat for security
- Start TPM
Here is how I did it:
Leave At High Leverage Point to Travel & Explore
My employer was a startup, and I left at the highest point of my ‘job market value’.
I had just ‘won’ my position against a competitor (details in Power University), I was the only full-time salesperson, and I had recruited all our active customers.
Maintain Rapport & Leverage
It was also an easy time to sour things because they needed me, and two, I thought I had good reasons not to be too fond of some people there.
But I kept it friendly and remained in touch because of the principle of ‘make friends, not enemies’.
It’s always better to have an extra option, and with the leverage I had, I could gain bigger concessions in the future.
So while I traveled the world and lived the life, I also did some freelance work for them.
Some extra money didn’t hurt, but mostly I maintained the relationship, stayed in the loop, and maintained leverage for when I’d come back.
Strategically Negotiate a Higher Base Salary: Good For Mortgage
I came back, explored other options as well of course, and negotiated with them.
I asked for some perks I knew they’d reject as a tactic to get a larger base salary, and I got an important salary increase.
I wanted a larger base salary for my next move: purchasing a flat at the lowest possible interest rate.
You can’t time the market, but real estate prices were great in my opinion and interest rates had no room to go any lower.
It turned out to be right, the mortgage rate has been below inflation most of the time, and the property value increased by around 70-80% in less than ten years.
But my goal wasn’t appreciation, it was this:
Use Your New Place For Side Income
My main goal was securing years of financial independence, without ever working for anyone else.
To do that, I wanted a place with two rooms, furnish both as bedrooms, and use one for extra income.
If things got dire, I could move out and use both rooms for income, so I could still make mortgage payments.
I could go back home with my parents or find something cheap.
Soft Negotiation In Seller’s Markets
I found the perfect place, in the perfect location.
It was close to main hubs (perfect for dating), but super quiet, and close to a park.
The seller called me to their office to discuss my proposal and they just said ‘no’. I expected a power move because I knew it was a seller’s market.
But I rolled with the punches.
This is what many people don’t get: they think that being powerful is to always be dominant or call out power moves.
But strategy always beats dominance.
The place was perfect: ideal location, ideal location for extra income rent, and an attractive price already (it was a great price because in part because it had some conditions attached for another 10 years, but let’s not go into too many details).
I negotiated with two goals in mind:
- Close fast
- Don’t seem overly eager that they may pull a last-minute price hike
- Walk the line between easy-going but not a chump
Appearing ‘docile’ was a strategy.
The seller had other units in the building, and they were property managers. One of their clauses was to vote on my behalf for 2 years. That suggested they had some power struggles going on, and that they preferred easy-going buyers, potentially even naive, who wouldn’t interfere with whatever they wanted.
And this is exactly what turned out to be.
My neighbor also wanted the flat before I even entered the picture. But she was not easy-going; she was litigious, and was passed over for me.
So I played disappointed, I said ‘just give me some time to think about it’, and little later I said ‘OK, I’ll take it if you can put a bed already inside to facilitate my move. If you can do it, you can pick the date of the transaction.
It was small enough for them to say ‘yes’, they did.
After that, I was ‘secure enough’ to work on TPM without too many worries.
Story 3: Strategic Seduction
This is a date with an attractive woman at the peak of her mate value.
Things were just OK in the beginning, but the dinner conversation was sputtering.
This is where many men talk more, trying to force a connection.
But remember: one, a connection is great but not always strictly needed. Especially not for short term. It’s more important that she thinks you’re a confident, dominant, and higher value man. And the more you rush to fill the silences, the more you chase, the more you signal that you’re lower value.
If anyone is uncomfortable with the silences, ensure it’s not you.
✒️ TPM Proverb
Two: connection equals not conversation. Connection is feelings and emotions. Bonding with someone’s presence in the silences is even more powerful.
When you can do that, people then open up naturally, without forcing it.
The Question That Made Her Open Up
Indeed, when I next took her for a smoothie, she was ready for the question that changed everything.
The question was:
‘Who do you hate’.
It can be an effective question. Don’t try too hard to stay positive. Life is both light and dark, and your task isn’t to be Tony Robbins.
And connecting on the dark is even more powerful because that’s the part she doesn’t share with everyone.
More than once that question changed the game, and this was the case.
Her reply was ‘my mother’, and that opened the floodgates.
Strategic Handling For Deeper Bonding
I replied ‘Oh that’s interesting’, with flat tonality.
Why did I say ‘interesting’ instead of ‘crazy’?
I use crazy a lot, but I use it for interesting situations to liven up the conversation and make her share more.
But you never say ‘crazy’ when it’s truly shocking or sad.
It makes you come across as over-reactive, judgmental, and piles up pressure.
This is not the time to display dominance, this is the time to be interested, without displaying any surprise.
Remember: it’s your skills that allow her to open up.
You must be interested, but not overly eager and free of any emotional over-reaction.
Think of enticing a cat that’s unsure whether to advance. You move little, you speak softly. You display some interest, but you don’t chase. You give space for the cat to come
That attitude also displays value.
It’s the value of the man who’s not impressed because he is worldly. He’s been there done that, nothing shocks him. And he knows people and human nature, and may offer guidance.
Display Uplifting Power to Change Tone
She opened up more as I asked thoughtful questions.
Then, callback humor: she’d mentioned Paris dreams, so I quipped, ‘Soon you’ll snap a pic with a Chanel bag under the Tour Eiffel and text her: “Shouldn’t have left me behind, mom.”‘
It lightens things up, but with a powerful darker edge.
It’s not a naïve ‘you can do it’, but a darker mix of victory and vendetta. And uplifting, implying she will reach her goals.
Remember, in dating you have a dual role: actor and conductor.
So I’m thinking ‘right after the dark: lighter mood, transition, and ‘pull”.
So when she mentions guys from a certain country being ‘nice.’ I joked back: ‘Yeah, but they have a small penis though’.
Lighten The Mood For Emotional Arc
She laughs, I join her: I only smiled at first, I laugh along with her to cement the bond.
That’s perfect emotional control.
Think about the arc.
You went from comfort with little talk, then wading through the dark, and now you take her OUT of the dark.
Therapists linger in darkness. Seducers lead back into the light, and into sexual tension.
That joke displays sexual confidence and links that topic to you.
Last Power Move: Display Dominance
When it was time for the bill, the waiter said they had closed the terminal and couldn’t take card.
I had cash, but told them to please check again>
It was tactical: I wanted to display I don’t readily submit to external forces and that, if thigns went well, that I could get things my way.
It became a bit of a struggle as they came out once again, and she offered me to pay.
A good sign, but I waved it off saying ‘It’s all good dear’, with a reassuring smile sub-communicating ‘You’re in good hands, don’t have to worry about anything when you’re with me’.
After I paid card as I wanted, I told her while walking away:
‘Remember, in life you never take the first no’.
It’s a high-power mindset and framed-expanded that you’re used to negotiating things your way.
A high value trait.
10X Post-Intimacy Bonding
I then invite her home and do a signature, brief first escalation move in the elevator.
She already felt close to me, so as expected she just welcomed every move.
I made it a good session despite not being the best time of the month, and that’s also always helpful.
Most guys think it ends after intimacy.
But that’s where top seducers switch to the next gear instead.
I propose to go for a drink. But after a few minutes.
To understand this move, you need again strong theory of mind.
At this point, many women wonder what’s up in the relationship, if they were ‘too easy’ and triggered his Madonna/whore dichotomy, and may fear they’ll be invited to leave.
This is crucial because it prevents you from maximizing bonding and romance.
When you propose a drink, you go from a negative to a positive. It reassures her and lets her enjoy the pillow tlak, and makes her look forward to more and better. It 10xes the romance, bonding and connection.
Post-Intimacy Extra Date For Maximum Connection
I picked a winery and framed it as ‘a great place to try’.
Also a tactical move: makes her look forward to a new experience together, and a romantic vibe.
Plus, a drink or two caps the evening for her as a dreamy escape from normal life.
We sat side by side, and at a certain point, she looked around and went to kiss me.
Compare: low power PUA
I read a blog of an older guy who went out with a young girl he was seeing. He told her he would ‘get a kiss’, made out with her in a hallway, and was all proud and braggy that he had her say ‘yes, sir’.
I couldn’t help but think how weak it was for a middle-aged man to chase kisses.
Refusing Night Together, In Style
Later, as the night drew to an end, she asked me, hopeful and submissive, if she could sleep over.
Notice how this all came full circle:
She started higher value as a very attractive young woman.
And now she is chasing for my company.
I say no because I needed to wake up early, a high-value frame.
And then I added that ‘I snore anyway’, with a smile. This is high-power ‘vulnerability’. It power protects her so she doesn’t feel spurned and self-reject, and positively humanizes you now that she already thinks you’re so awesome.
Couple Frame: Make Her Positively Obsess
But I say that ‘we can meet another day, and maybe go watch a movie’.
After seduction, a ‘boyfriend frame‘ becomes effective.
Again, you must see it from her point of view. At this point, a woman may even fear of falling for the wrong guy.
But when you mention the possibility of closer emotional intimacy, she can let go.
Then, I’m getting picture with cats with hearts in her eyes.
This is good, effective seduction.
Start with little or no leverage and the man usually chasing, to her wanting more of you, and falling in love.
Life Gets Easy
When you get to this level, life gets easy.
High-level strategic thinking is almost an unfair advantage in life.
Indeed, I started my self-development journey very late BECAUSE life was too easy.
Strategic thinking is partially inborn, but it’s also a skill.
We teach how to acquire it in Power University.
