Every American man reading this grew up in a nation where women were expected to play a role in governing our nation by casting a vote that was equal in value to every man’s vote.
Women make up almost 51% of the total population.
In a republic that employs democratic means to elect its governing representatives, more than 50% of the vote is a controlling interest. Assuming that women now cast their votes as individuals and not together with their husbands as they probably often did early on, the 19th Amendment effectively ceded a controlling interest in the government to women.
If men and women are more or less the same and share the same basic interests, the fact that there are more women exerting influence on government is utterly meaningless.
If, generally speaking, women behave differently and have interests that differ from the collective interests of men, then the fact that women are collectively able to exert a controlling interest at all levels of government is extremely significant.
It also follows that these differences in interests and behavior will have a cumulative impact on governance and culture.
If women are generally more collectivist in nature, unless there is some check against collectivism, it seems likely that over time the state will become progressively more collectivist.
If women are generally prone to any way of thinking, it seems likely that over time the state will progressively begin to reflect that way of thinking.
A seemingly slight derivation from a given path will, over a long distance, become a very significant derivation from the given path. It will ultimately lead to a different place entirely.
If all nations allow women to gain a controlling interest in their governments at the same time, the differences between nations in this regard will be minimal.
If one nation is governed with a male controlling interest and another nation is governed by a female controlling interest, and male and females have different tendencies, what are some possible outcomes?
Very few successful societies have ever allowed women to gain a controlling interest in governance.
