Woman works at commercial business, encounters stupid people for the first time, blames one entire gender.

One woman for every nine men, that is.

It's been a while for me I'm pretty sure the big dating apps are way more than $14/mo these days. Like $30+/mo.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 10:51 PM

The skills involved in finding versus building/maintaining a relationship are not the same. They intersect, but the venn diagram is far from a circle.

It’s certainly no guarantee, but women have a much higher chance of success with this strategy than men do. “Okay we just started dating, time for you to start hitting the gym, dressing nicer, find a hobby and get a real job”. Plenty of guys want to do all that anyway and some romantic motivation is all they really need. I can’t imagine that working on virtually any women, though.

Oh well if that’s what women say then reality can’t possibly be any different

>Because there are plenty of women out there that would happily go dutch with you This is simply not true. There are SOME but they are not plentiful or easy to find.

>average It's technically true that the average woman (and man, for that matter) is fat, but the word "average" is also used colloquially to mean "normal" instead of the literal "mathematical mean of the data set"

There are so many submissive men with kinks that involve *themselves* being put in discomfort or pain that there aren't enough dominant women to go around.

I’d love a robot sex toy but I don’t think I could ever develop an emotional attachment to one. For men who think they can, I guess it all depends on what you mean by a “legitimate”replacement. I think that you are overestimating the value some men place on the “social currency” of having a real partner, but I also think that some men who would claim to want a robot wife are underestimating the value of a real emotional connection

I think the average woman find men 3-5 years older most attractive. Which is not inherently a bad thing, but it does leave 18-23 year old men in a rough spot.

Im a man with this fetish and it’s probably my strongest one. I can’t really explain why. I don’t hate women or want to hurt them in any other context. I would never do anything sexually to a woman without prior consent, but the fantasy of doing so does turn me on. When other men say that the idea of being the “perpetrator” in CNC role play makes them uncomfortable, it doesn’t compute in my brain at all.

He only asked her out once(?). She does say he stayed in the shop for 3.5 hours but again it’s a coffee shop, it’s not clear if he was just working on homework again or what

Sure, no one’s saying she had to impressed by his confidence and charisma and leave her husband to go out with him. But she didn’t have to assume he was Ted Bundy either
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 01:52 PM
1

There’s a difference between “I don’t want to eat these cookies, they’re probably fine because that guy was probably just an awkward dude who never baked before and went overboard asking me out, but I don’t know him and don’t want to take the chance” and “that guy was awkward therefore obviously there are poison cookies”. The first one is rational, the second one is true crime brain.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 01:51 PM
1

There’s a miles wide gap between “that guy was awkward and pushy, it made me uncomfortable” and “that guy was definitely an evil stalker, I should post his handwriting on the internet so people can analyze it and tell me what his nefarious intentions are”
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 01:47 PM
1

Oh, a guy who’s in a coffee shop working on a (school?) project meets a cute girl and keeps looking over at her while he works beyond what’s socially acceptable. He’s literally an evil demon and should be put down like a dog. I’m not saying any of his behavior was normal, or charismatic, or that he should have gone about it that way. I’m saying him being awkward might be uncomfortable, but nothing he did was scary. Over the top? Sure. Too pushy? Sure. Evil stalker behavior? Come on.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 01:45 PM
1

Even the additional context makes him sound like a nervous autistic guy instead of an evil stalker. “He was pacing around before he asked me out”, oh you mean like how nervous people pace around anxiously? Shocker. It’s unironically kind of a female privilege thing. She’s never had to ask anyone out, what would she know about nerve-wracking it is?

If you want the government audited so bad, YOU should be the one mad that it’s being handled by a serial liar. Donald Trump knew Elon was a liar when he picked him, why would he do that?

Awkward guy asks girl out at her work, Reddit assumes he’s the devil incarnate Yeah you shouldn’t ask people out at work, yeah you shouldn’t bake them cookies or give them a note like a sixth grader. But this really seems to me like a socially awkward guy (autistic? Developmentally disabled?) working up the courage to ask out a girl (for the first time?), being nervous about it, and all of his nervous behavior being misinterpreted as “creepy” by redditors who have that brains melted by true crim…

This one's pretty clean. There's nudity but no sex, and they have sanitizing spray for the equipment like a gym. As for gross, well, that depends on how much you like seeing the average person naked

/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 10:40 PM

I've been going to a BDSM club for a few weeks. Nothing much crazy has happened, mostly just watching people who are some combination old, ugly, and/or fat whipping and tying each other up. Yesterday, though, I got to watch a couple attractive naked women around my age practice fire play on each other, which is basically like a massage where you tap the receiver with small torch. I got to try it myself, but the girl who did it to me was pretty fat, so it wasn't very erotic. It did feel good thou…

You could extrapolate that reddit and social media in general, tbh

The real question is, what percentage of men who struggle with dating fail to meet reasonable hygiene standards? We all know some men (and some women, for the record) who are slobs but still date. The real reason "get better hygiene, take a shower" is such common advice in dating subs is the just world fallacy. People subconsciously want to believe that life is fair and if a man struggles with dating, it's because of something he is doing to deserve it.

Early 20s is 100% valid age range to start worrying about singledom as a man. For men, if things aren’t heading in a positive direction relationships-wise at that point, nothing is going to change unless we make it change

Here's a uniquely male experience: if I ever find a partner, I will probably have to lie about why I've been single for my entire twenties, including three years living alone in a major city. Telling the truth about struggling with confidence and socializing is only going to diminish me in her eyes. My best (least worst) option will be to say something like "I was focusing on school/career the whole time". I'll also have to lie about dating apps, if the topic ever comes up. /r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 03:04 AM

Can't argue with that
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 03:01 AM

This type of response is honestly surprising to me. I expected the responses to be either "no I don't want to shave at all" or "sure, less work for me". I didn't expect multiple women to say "yes I do want to shave but I prefer to do it myself"
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:54 AM

Free spa day for you then
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:45 AM

I wasn't really thinking in terms of "would it be embarassing for a bf to this", moreso "if you find it rude/wrong/imposing for a bf to want his gf to shave, is it less rude/wrong/imposing if he offers to do it himself"
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:33 AM

Yeah it really represents the universal real answer which is "it depends on your partner"
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:21 AM

This is encouraging lol
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:20 AM

What if you don't like it better natural?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:20 AM

It seems like it's generally seen as a negative for a man to prefer his partner to keep their body hair shaved. Ladies, would you view a man who wants his partner to keep shaved better if he offers to groom her himself? Like, "oh I'll give you a spa day every couple weeks, draw you a bath, wash your hair, and shave everything myself." I think that bathing each other is cute and intimate, and I generally dislike body hair on women so it seems like a win-win

Related to my last comment but a slightly different thought: sometimes on twitter or reddit or occasionally even IRL I'll see a girl expressing interest in something traditionally male coded like anime or video games and I'll be like "oh cool hell yeah" and then moments later I'll be like "wait, that's a trans woman isn't it", and sure enough, it frequently is. /r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 04:47 PM

I'm not saying 100% of the guys who approached her before were short, but I am noting that 100% of the guys she was receptive to was tall.

I'm not saying it's the only factor, but she gets approached 3x a week and literally the ONLY time she's ever been "very happily receptive", he just so happened to be "a good bit taller". Surely it's just a coincidence
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 04:21 PM

From dating advice: 26F and recently, a man approached me in a way that I was very happily receptive to, for the first time ever. This says a lot, because I probably get approached in one shape or form maybe up to 3x a week, and not one has ever felt right. Here’s what this guy did right: ... ..... he was a good bit taller than me .... Hmmm

No pressure if you're not interested or you're busy, but think about it and let me know if you're interested, here's my number. See you around." I can't articulate why but this is cringe as hell to me
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 07:09 PM

I see no problem with pursuing escorts if you can mentally get past the fact they’re interested in your money and not for who you are. For a lot of men, it’s a boner kill. I would not be interested in a relationship with a guy who has had a history of escorts though. These two opinions seem contradictory

The kind of older dudes who say they love younger women for their souls and can have great conversations with them are probably having quiet relationships with one younger woman at a time, and thus you are exposed to them less than the lecherous types you're complaining about

If the average woman rejected men more, she would still likely find a relationship. If the average man rejected women more (whether that's rejection women who approach, which never happens, or more likely simply approaching women less), he will likely never find a relationship. The definition of “Infidelity” isn’t “finding sexual pleasure anywhere but your partner”, it’s about breaking your partners trust. That’s why it’s called sexual infidelity, and other types of infidelity exist. Marriage, or LTRs, are agreements and they don’t all have the same terms. If two partners agree that they shouldn’t watch porn and one does so, then that’s infidelity, but if two partners agree that they can have sex with whoever they want on the third weekend of the month, that isn’t infi…

“ it reduces the motivation of people to get into relationships”. Self report? I would be lying if I said that having sex wasn’t one motivating factor for wanting a relationship, but it’s not the only one and not the main one. I want love, romance, a best friend, a partner. Even if I was having all of my sexual desires satisfied by friends (or escorts or strangers or whomever), I would still want a relationship just as strongly

I'm not saying that no women struggle with dating, simply that it is significantly less common than it is for men. Obviously neither of us is going to convince the other by saying "actually it's X% of women and Y% of men", but I'd bet if you asked your social circle what dating has really been like for them throughout their lives, the men would report a lot more struggle than the women, in aggregate.

I see women who don’t think it’s normal to not be able to date at all This IS downplaying dating for men. Yes, yes, most men eventually find a relationship or two and eventually get married, but it's certainly normal for men to go long spans of time without being able to get dates even when actively wanting to do so, and it's unquestionably more common for men than women.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 02:31 AM

What? Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 02:28 AM

Women don't know how lucky they are to be able to date decent men who aren't swarmed by potential partners. They don't believe this is true. The only men they're willing to date are the top fraction who are also swarmed by potential partners, so women feel like its an even playing field.

The only reliable sign women show of attraction towards a man, short of explicitly stating her interest, is her continued responsiveness to his escalating advances, ie he approaches and she responds positively, he starts flirting, she responds positively, etc, etc. All other potential signs women use, consciously or unconsciously, are effectively indistinguishable from kindness and politeness.

I have zero interest in going on a date with someone I don't already know and haven't vetted. True crime and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. Getting coffee with someone IS vetting them, or at least the first step in the process. Someone being physically attractive is not what I consider "the basic level". Your brain makes that judgement before you're even aware of it. It may not be the highest priority after weighing all factors, but it's certainly the most basic.

you know absolutely nothing about me other than my looks/appearance Yes, but this is not a bad thing. It's simply an invitation to get to know each other. The entire subtext of a cold approach is: "Hi, I find you physically attractive. If you find me physically attractive back, then at least know we are compatible on the most basic level. I would like to invite you to the process of finding out if our personalities are also compatible (aka dating)".

Anecdotal, but I've never had a sexual encounter where a woman volunteered any information about how they prefer to have sex. All of that was either completely nonverbal or had to be drawn out by me asking. If I either wasn't good at reading their responses or didn't care enough to ask/try, they probably wouldn't have gotten off, and because all the burden of good sex is on the man, I would have been "at fault". TLDR: women need to advocate for themselves if they want to get off. you can't just …

Virtually every scientific study on happiness concludes that the number one most significant predictor of people reporting higher happiness is strong relationships, whether its family, friends, or romantic partners. Demonization of male sexuality is extremely real. Once you recognize this, you start seeing it everywhere. A completely identical statement or conversation can be acceptable from a woman but "creepy" from a man, simply because people see male sexuality as inherently negative, a bad thing that women allow men to do them.

Modern therapy isn't a silver bullet for all mental health issues. Even before things like access and affordability, modern therapy techniques are simply less appealing and less effective for men than they are for women (don't take my word for it, take it from a therapist). Men should still seek therapy when possible, sure, but the simple fact that therapy exists is not a conversation ender for the entire topic of the loneliness epidemic.

I don't think sexual is the right word but there is an intimacy to it beyond what I feel when hugging other men. I don't think there's any harm in that as long as you don't go out of your way to hug your female friends too much, try to hug female friends you're not that close with, or otherwise somehow make it weird.

You also see it when women talk about their friends. Men will say "I have a buddy Steve who's average looking and struggles to get dates", and you look and its an average looking guy. Women will say "I have a STUNNING and GORGEOUS friend named Susan and SOMEHOW she struggles to find a man" and you look and she's a 4

There's a whole sub for HL women All twelve of them don't really outweigh the entire male population. There are almost zero male prostitutes There are many male prostitutes... 99% of them are for other men. It's a statistical claim. The vast majority of men have a much higher libido than the vast majority of women, and *some* women having higher libidos than most men doesn't disprove that fact.

Say "men are hornier than women" to a mixed crowd of normal people, and you'll get a dozen responses like "actually women are just as horny as men", "actually men are just conditioned to be more open and women more reserved", "actually men only say that until they get with a woman who's hornier than they are". I have heard of all these in real conversations.

No one should be shamed for immutable characteristics - whether its a womans "loose" vagina or stretch marks, or a man's hairline or height. That said, there's nothing wrong with being attracted to and seeking unnatural physical features. We have more ability to control our appearance today than any point in human history, we should take advantage of that more (within moderation). I don't want a woman to ignore her attraction and settle for me, I want to *be* a man who is attractive to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/23 12:19 AM
29

This is the answer. Studies show and women readily admit that, to women, attractiveness is more than physical. It's no wonder that there's a mile of difference between in attraction towards "the older guy with nice clothes, a house, a car, and disposable income" versus "the old looking guy in my class with none of those things"
