She turned off her Life360 today. Didn't say one word. My older girls weren't home so I looked to see where they were and the wife was not on there anymore. Bound to happen sooner or later.

Great points. That's a calculation we need to figure out. If I have to put a new HVAC system in she won't pay anything but reaps the rewards. Personally I don't care for the house or location but we have an amazing interest rate. I'm only wanting to keep it until the older girls are out. But great point on the value to debt. Thank you.

This is probably the best breakdown I've read and you're 100% right. This is my 20 year marriage in a nut shell. Did everything right, never strayed, coached all the kids teams, volunteered at school stuff. What I didn't do was date her and keep the fire alive. That's on her too though. It's takes two.

19, 17, 12. I'm keeping home but we'll split equity at a future date or I'll buy her out. She's keeping her car. I'm keeping mine and the kids are keeping theirs.

My wife and I sat them down last weekend. We were calm and just told facts. Even though my wife has already checked out emotionally, we are in agreement to stay friendly and cordial for the kids. Of course that could change but for now we're doing good and openly have had conversations with the kids.

Absolutely. We did the calculations yesterday with a lawyer and she'll get 38% of my retirement. I'm fine with that. I'm 100% P&T so that helps soften the blow.

My kids are 19, 17 (turns 18 this summer), and 12. So really it's only custody for the 12 year old and we're doing joint custody. One week on, one week off. Holidays every other year. Pretty standard. I had some great friends give me advice to move as fast as possible to get this agreement done to protect myself. I'm following that advice.

Absolutely. I met with a lawyer yesterday who drafted a separation agreement for us. She agreed to it all last night. Just need to sign and notarize and we're good. Doing that this week. Alimony and child support locked in at a fair rate for both of us.

Ya it's wild to me. She put up some pictures of him in our house like he's a saint.

Man I don't know how it will be a year from now when the dust settles but I'll probably follow that same sentiment. No way I can take one seriously again.

God advice. Thank you.

Definitely taking the wheel. Had a lawyer draft the separation agreement which she agreed to last night. Notarize it Friday and file it. Losing about 38% of my retirement but I'm okay with that.

That's the word the popped up yesterday morning for me, betrayal. I'm sorry you had to go through that experience but it looks like you're okay now. I appreciate you.

Sorry man. Worst part was her Dad had no positive impact on her life or ours. Was an alcoholic who beat my wifes mom. Never once called our kids for any holiday, birthday, or celebration. Never even visited. But he's a hero to her.

Ya we were looking at money tonight and she saw it won't be easy for her. But she is definitely set on doing her own thing.

Dude she is obsessed with Grey's Anatomy and all that ridiculous shit.

I can see the mercy part but man, it is painful. I'm hoping she comes around and who knows, when she moves out and gets a taste of living alone, maybe she will. But like you, I might not take her back.

Oh ya. She's turned off all emotion. Almost like a robot with no concern. It was giving me the worst anxiety and that's something I never get. Had to move to the guest room to get a decent night sleep. She will be moving out though.

Great question. I already work out 5 days a week but I can crank it up a little. I did a men's physique last year and got 2nd in the men's over 40 class. But you're right. Just gonna have fun with the kids and friends and enjoy life.

Unless she's paying for it on the side with a secret credit card, she isn't.

She started working out, I noticed she is wearing sexy underwear instead her standard granny panties, she bought a bikini, and said she's growing her hair long again. She has beautiful black hair and I've begged her for years to grow it long again.

These women have such a great life they get bored. They want drama to feel alive I guess. Why not blow up a family, right?

Man I really hope not but it would explain the extreme 180° and cold shoulder.

She never said anything. We were just doing life. My son and I hunt and fish a lot. My girls are older teens so they kinda do their own thing. She liked - I thought she liked - to spend time relaxing and watching her shows.

Good point on finances. She's been running our joint account forever. Just found out she had a hidden credit card with $6k.

I mean we would definitely have disagreements we just wouldn't go crazy.

Makes sense. It's like I tell my kids, some people's lives are so good they have to create drama to feel something.

She never once told me she was unhappy. We never yelled or cursed each other. No abuse. We don't drink or do drugs. She did tell me one time that I need to communicate my feelings better to her. We both tended to ruminate too much when we disagreed on things. I just thought we were the average mid 40s married couple with kids. We did everything as a family.

Needed to hear this. Wife of 20 years asked for a divorce the day after Christmas. She said she's been planning for a couple years because she was unhappy. We have everything and she wants for nothing. Never once said she was unhappy as we traveled, celebrated family milestones, new cars, etc. Just doesn't make sense to me and after 26 days, still finding it hard to accept.
