I needed to hear this today. Been caught up with hormones and feelings towards someone that isn’t as crazy about me as I am about them. Thank god for FDS, time to get my head out of my ass.

Unfortunately, pick-me’s still fawn over guys like that. A single man, so well adjusted to society and well off, such a prize!.....until they stop to think about why he’s single.

When men say stuff like that it’s so clear they see women’s only value as being a partner to a man. They can’t fathom a woman NOT being with a man, blasphemy! 🙄

Yup, this kinda thing happened to me all the time in my previous relationship. Now I’m happily asexual!

I love it when karma gets assholes like this.

I felt the same way! I let my ex boyfriend use and abuse me because I felt I wasn’t worth much so he was the best I could get. Now I’m realizing that I’m worth soooo much more, and that I actually might be lesbian so LMFAO!

You directed this towards OP but this is such solid advice that I can take something away from it. Thank you!

It’s scary how much of that could apply to my ex, I’m so glad I’m out of that relationship and I’m starting to realize my worth.

Yeaahhh there’s a bunch of typos and grammatical errors riddled in this post. Sorry about that.

I don’t see the problem in that 😂

I suppose it “helped” that there was already a police report of domestic abuse from him, so they had tangible evidence that he could, and would, strike me if he was angry enough.

Sure. Basically, he left to visit family out of state. Long before then, we agreed that I could explore my polyamorous desires, but it was only then that I felt normal enough to pursue it. While doing so, I realized just how draining he was on me. He doesn’t have friends, so he looked to me for all his social interactions. He put me up on a pedestal and worshiped the ground I walked on, and went out of his way to do things for me even when I specifically asked him not to. He’d then hold them ove…

I used to feel like it was my responsibility to take care of my ex, because he didn’t have the self care and strength in himself to get through hard times. When I’m upset and need a minute, I take a shower, clean, watch videos I enjoy, until I’m stable enough to think clearly. He just laid on the floor until I begged him to tell me what was wrong, and even then he’d just yell at me about it. Now I know he’s just an emotional vampire and I’m much better without him as an anchor in my life.

OP I’m in a very similar situation! My mom never told me about anything like what’s in this sub, shes got her own bag of mental health issues, and my sister is a little over a decade younger than me. I can only hope to share with her what our mother failed to share with me.

This is honestly beautiful, I'm glad that your friend has you to look out for her. It was smart thinking going up to those guys to ask for help, if he wants to play the "I'm bigger and stronger than you" game, well, why can't you do the same?

That’d be super helpful! I’ve been seeing this diagram and posts about it being an amazing progressive movement or something and I’d love to contribute, I just can’t get to the bottom of what it depicts haha.

I agree with you, I'm having a hard time understanding whats being depicted in the photo. Looking up diagrams didn't help.

Oh yeah I know, and agree. If I remember correctly, early religions were based around a matriarchal goddess, and I'd imagine they were matriarchal societies as well. Somewhere we fell off the wagon and came up with things being flipped.

I completely agree with all of this, which leaves me confused with my tag haha.

Because it stems from our societies history of women having no value unless tied to a man, either their father or their husband. Failure to provide a woman a husband within a few years after she reaches maturity reflects poorly on the father, and then more so on the woman for being "undesirable." It's a backwards, outdated practice, but it'd be incorrect to say that it doesn't have any roots in our lives today. Women are still discriminated against because of this kind of thinking, however from …

He was a cocky dude, so it fit with his personality. He now knows how LV he is now, and hits me up occasionally. It’s a nice little ego boost, haha.

I was with a guy like OP’s. When he broke up with me, I stupidly tried to get back together with him, and he flat out told me “if I don’t find anyone else then yeah maybe” and that was such a hurtful comment that I withdrew pretty quickly, but not quickly as I wish I would’ve.

I agree, tattoos are a visual representation of art, and of the soul of whoever wears them. Nobody is inherently HV or LV based on tattoos, just as having tattoos has no reflection on work ethic or employment eligibility.

Like I was unmistakably a teen too, had my school backpack and everything. He was totally gross, and when I said no his face got all aggressive so I literally ran away. I didn’t look back, but when I did he wasn’t there. Honestly one of the scariest moments of my life, and introduced me to how depraved men can really be. Since then I’ve been followed, asked to get in cars, and harassed by different creepy dudes. It’s not fun.

What the actual fuck??? Who does that???? Creepers, that’s who. I once had a guy come up to me on the street with a book full of women’s belly’s, and he gave me this whole thing about how they’re beautiful, and he asked me for a picture of mine. I WAS SIXTEEN!!! I booked it as fast as I could, so fucking gross.

It’s the fact he said “please” that really gets me. Just couldn’t take the no, had to beg me for it. Ugh.

I’m proud of you for keeping your cool, not a lot of people can say they’d be able to keep a straight face when their life is being threatened.

It always astounds me that, rather than communicate they can’t be monogamous and find partners that are okay with them practicing polyamory, they lie and dismiss, saying “oh I just don’t want a relationship” when they do, but with multiple people.

I guess the simple answer to that is, I don’t. But I sure as hell know I’m not gonna meet Prince Charming standing in line at the DMV.

I completely agree with you, seeing comments and posts from dudes talking about how many people they approach cold-call every day makes me honestly super worried. I know if I were one of those women I’d stone-wall them, that’s just...so creepy imo. Standing in line, waiting at the bus, sure those may seem like good times to pipe up but more often than not I’m not interested in talking to a stranger, and I feel held hostage cuz I still need to get to point B, and if I don’t continue the conversat…

I think your tone is way too aggressive for the point you’re making. I agree that porn addictions are real, and it shouldn’t be substituted for having a real relationship with a person. But people have their reasons for watching, and just as we shouldn’t judge people for not watching porn, we shouldn’t judge people for watching it responsibly. Edit: I also agree that porn shouldn’t be posted here. This isn’t an NSFW sub.
