Probably not unless you don't want kids, in which case do what you like.

Fellas, is it gay to drive a car?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 11:24 PM

Glendale is mental. I remember turning right out of a parking lot with literally nobody on the street. Instant the front tires get out on the street there’s wild honking, a screech of swerved tires, and a ton of profanity. I have no idea how we went from zero cars in sight range to a near collision with 2 seconds, but it happens. And the less said about anything near the Galleria the better.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 10:06 PM

I’m not excluding myself from this group.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 09:26 PM

Ha, it ain’t me, that’s for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 09:24 PM

Yeah but everyone in California is a trash driver, so it evens out.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 09:24 PM

They’ve been all over the evangelical shit for 40 years, though. They aren’t letting up…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 09:23 PM

No, I think a baseline of trust has to be established. This is why I couldn't and didn't do ONS/hookups. Giving someone you trust control is very different from having a stranger take it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 08:36 PM

I think domination like forcefully kissing or pushing her against the wall and hiking her legs up and stuff like that going off her response is different from, like, grabbing someone’s wrists and pinning them so they can’t move and then yanking their pants down (unless you know she’s into it, like you said). Regardless, I do think a baseline of trust has to be established.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 08:33 PM

Lol, sorry it was luliloo’s comment and possum’s story and that story about couch sex. I forgot we were talking about actual rape also in other threads.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 08:07 PM

Ha. I have one too but everyone is so damn horny today on here already… Don’t want to drive luliloo and Amy Dunne Stan guy to the brink.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 08:01 PM

For posters who do believe in verbal, explicit consent — have you ever had sex where it vernal consent wasn’t given? Did you enjoy it? I’m wondering if there is something about the element of control here, and I’m not suggesting it’s a bad thing. I’m just curious. Personally one of what may be the greyest of grey area encounters in my life was one of the hottest. That said, when I’ve said no I always meant it and left immediately if that wasn’t being obeyed. Maybe it’s a personal thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 07:58 PM

Yeah, they do look more like 8-tracks. But I barely remember those and I’m one of the older people here!
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 07:39 PM

I remember seeing Mean Girls in a Best Buy being sold on VHS, probably because the tape case was all pink and stood out in the rack.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 07:08 PM

VHS tapes were what you put in VCRs. They looked like cassette tapes (for music) but were...bigger. Same concept. You recorded moves off the TV and onto the tapes. Each tape stored like 6 hours of content, I think, although I remember having to switch settings from SP to SLP sometimes to get more or less recording time.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/22 07:06 PM

Not based, just old 😂 I think january is also like 20 years younger than I am. We're just different generations. Could be the result of constant online culture that we as humans are becoming terrible at reading body language? Maybe I just get off personally on the guy taking charge? Don't know.

I think the thread was about obesity specifically, which is far more than chubby. I agree that not every overweight person is unattractive.

Yeah, IF these moves are true as recounted, he sounds like he's terrible at seduction and not great in bed but he's rich and attractive and famous so nobody told him. Nothing sounded like a turn-on, just unpleasant at worst and kind of weird at best. I don't get why she'd stay so long when he didn't prevent her from leaving, and it sounds like he didn't restrain her or force her to suck him off.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 08:04 PM

I don’t understand why she didn’t say no or stop because it doesn’t seem like he was being threatening. And she didn’t object and did as he asked. And the idea of bitching about someone giving you white wine instead of red when they’re the host is kind of peak brat behavior/bad manners.

I think we're discussing rape culture. Since it's not as much fun as cuck culture, I'm not following it closely.

I mean, people have said worse to me, but I'm not sure that's the bar we want to use. I think he knew he was being cruel and went full steam ahead. It's the difference between: "Well, stop being ugly and girls might talk to you" and "I think with a better haircut and clothes you'd have a better chance with women."

Yeah, maybe not a red flag in isolation but in retrospect it is. It doesn’t sound like being used for sex so much as being used for sex and attention/company/support. Knowing there’s someone to go to when you’re thirsty or bored or lonely or in trouble, but taking that person fro granted

hahaha..me you mean? Well, good. I don't think you should obsess too much over her behavior though. A mid-30s woman with no income, a year-long marriage, a coke habit, and a rich daddy is not going to be a reliable barometer for the women you want for a relationship. Chin up! You attracted one pretty woman, you'll get another. Maybe not tomorrow, but, well...not too long I bet.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 11:31 PM

Hey I remember you. How are you doing? She probably thought you had a lot of experience. And we’re good in bed. At her age I’d say it’s idle curiosity more than anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 11:02 PM

Never had "the talk." To be honest, if a guy's not into you he's going to be sleeping with other women regardless of some talk on monogamy. Behavior is a better indicator. Is he eager to spend time with you? Does he like talking to you? etc. It was usually two or three weeks in, so not forever but not immediately. I don't know; I never dated more than 1 person at a time and I don't think they were seeing anyone else either. But things were different 20 years ago.

Not that big a red flag unless he was extremely picky about his LTR partner. I understand the need for temporary relief and companionship. Would depend on the circumstances too. Traveled a lot? Spent a lot of time in school or working? Or just picky/unpleasant?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 07:11 PM
2

Well, at my age? More than 10 casual partners is a big red flag I guess. If I were 30? More than 5.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 06:52 PM
1

I would. If a man has a whole lot of it (I can’t give a number…just something that makes it seem like he has no impulse control and doesn’t view sex the same way I do) that is a huge red flag though.

ha ha ... it's only 11 AM and I have a ton of driving to do today but I'll hold that thought. Also I was only kidding about the GF thing; it's cute you talk about her so much.

Well, for one thing, some of the people grew on me and I like either actually communicating with them or giving them shit, depending on the person. For the other, I think that buried beneath the revenge fantasies there are real conversations and discoveries about male and female sexuality that I can parse out. When I was 25 people didn't even really have home Internet, so interacting like this wasn't possible. Better late than never I guess.

According to my therapist, who was also a marriage therapist though he treated plain head cases like me too, a lot of his adulterous husbands loved/were attracted to their wives and had sex with them. They just were offered more sex with someone else and took it. Like extra slices of cake. They saw no drawback (not all were discovered either).

So men withdrawing emotionally justifies female cheating, then, yes?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 03:55 PM

I've always been told I had really nice lips (sorry for the brag), so it is something guys focus on but maybe in a sex sub they tend to focus on the obvious turn-ons like breasts/ass. I also think nice lips/mouth on a guy is underrated. I really love a nice mouth.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/22 03:19 PM

I think a history of risky behaviors like drugs. Other than that I think it's circumstances that create an atmosphere for cheating rather than isolated personality traits. You can have a lovely virgin bride who's never had even a sip of beer, but if she gets bored, or is left alone a lot, or feels lonely, or sees her spouse gain 50 pounds, or any combination of these plus other factors...well...

Hell if I know. My dad -- my real one, my mom's husband when I was born -- had me and still took off for a few years because he loved heroin more than me or her. So it made no difference having his genes; he didn't care. I think this paternity fraud narrative is taking a very, very small percentage of cases and blowing them up as if this were the norm.

Yeah, my ex way back was super into fitness. We went rock climbing literally 5-6 times per week, and he jogged every single day unless it was snowing or pouring rain. I built up this really nice, very toned and lean physique. We were living together, so I made the healthy, protein-rich meals and he complimented my body and strength progression all the time. He cheated with his coworker, who was like 200 pounds.

Knock-down-drag-out-name-calling fight? 2 times in 14 years. No names were called but we both ended up feeling hurt. Argument that got intense but not vicious or that angry? I don't know. 20 times? We rarely fight. I think most disagreements came after we had a child. That is one of those things where you could very well be on the same page beforehand, but in hands-on practice things change like crazy. Edit: I saw your note; no, nobody ever said to shut the fuck up or talked like that.

My father was an addict and my mother was a flighty woman who didn’t care. They were married in the 1970s and I was born in that decade too. The person who told me to get an education so I wouldn’t need no man? My very trad grandfather, born in the 1920s. “Don’t be like your mother.” As if I had to be told. Many women ended up dependent on bad men, or destitute when the rug was pulled out. Women back then gobbled down Valium and Dexatrim and drank vodka to numb the pain and maintain the pre-baby…

My sexuality is pretty reactive so maybe? I can’t say. But sugar boy toys aren’t dtf. They are down to being paid to provide a service. That alone would rule them out. I don’t want to be with anyone not naturally attracted to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/22 08:04 PM

I think my cutoff is about 8-10 years younger and 15 years older. That’s just personal though.

Doesn’t have anything to do with Beyoncé…I just don’t find much younger men sexually attractive. They are undeniably attractive but don’t interest me sexually.

Ok, so first off, kids are a lot for a single, childless woman to handle. I’m a mom and I understand that non-parents don’t understand how inflexible kids can make things. Also, if you want to have your own children one day, you probably don’t want other kids in the mix. So this has nothing to do with you…don’t doubt yourself because of the pressures of dating a parent in general. Sounds like she was keeping her options open, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t attracted to you. Honestly nobody dev…

Oh, honey, you are halfway there, if not 75%. Or 90%. You're going to fuck this guy. You don't think you will, but you will. You'll keep up the boundaries for a bit but the energy and attention will feel good. You don't want him to leave his wife...yet...well, not really. Only if he wanted to leave for himself, not you. But listen...you're already wondering about being a stepmom. You're putting up a lot of lines that sound like you're trying to talk yourself out of it. Those lines won't work for…

How old is his kid? Also: how far has it gone? Have you discussed sex? Kissing? Attraction? Edit: A blow by blow here. So, you are with your first ever real boyfriend. OK, it's natural to not want to throw in the towel. It's scary. I know nothing about your relationship, but pretty much no relationship happens for a time without people being their worst (or just not nice, or bad) selves. But you might not be compatible. I mean, if you're not married, and you sound young -- why not just break up?…

I remember talking to a bunch of guys while I was maybe 8 months pregnant. They were talking about their kids, and they were all like 10-11 pounds! I started visibly getting pale and scared and they stopped. That said, mine was estimated to be 7 pounds and came out a week later at almost 9 pounds. I am 5 foot 4 and weighed 107 pounds when I got pregnant.

I’d be careful. You only see your crush at his best. You haven’t seen him when he’s sick or tired or annoyed at a mess you made or any of the typical relationship stress points. People tend to see the flaws of their partner more when they meet someone else, who can be highly selective in the face they put forth.

I buy the kid's clothes, schedule his dentist and doctor appointments, take him to lessons, go to his school stuff, check his homework. Why would middle-aged women care what men in their early 30s are doing? I don't see many women over 40 wanting to date 32-year-old men. If your selling point for older men is confidence, I don't think posts like this help. What kind of confident guy is upset by what others think and then blames his failure to close the deal on random middle-aged women? If a woman finds you attractive she's not going to say no because her aunty or Barb from the office might not approve. Since when do young people…

I mean, the reason we don't have that is because the OP starts off the bat with a bad faith argument/blanket statement of old women being bitter and jealous and ugly. This isn't a post about the nuances of attraction, it's a trite list of talking points and revenge fantasy projection.

I gave up pointing this out ages ago. Literally the same posters who say a woman needs to fuck on a first date because they fear being used as a beta are also the ones who want to date far younger women or go abroad to find younger women. Seriously, they want to play beta with extra steps all the time.

Yeah, and if you read the marriage/adultery/relationship subs, you'll see a TON of affairs involve large age gaps of 20+ years (with an older guy). After the 1,000th "but he said he loved me and wanted to be with me!" you realize why this setup exists. Do men find 22-year-old women attractive? Of course. Do they find it easier to string them along? No fucking doubt.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/04/22 07:29 PM

Yeah, but maybe THIS is the eureka! post that will make all the 21-year-olds realize how insanely attracted they are to middle-aged men.

Well, at least it's not about ugly women rejecting hot guys for sex this time. That said, you're out of your mind if you think young women listen to older people telling them to be sensible. When has that ever worked except in far more strict cultures? If a young woman is attracted enough to a man she will fuck him, regardless of age and regardless of anyone else's opinion. If a man isn't attractive enough for young women to fuck, he should work on his appearance instead of blaming random other …

I think it depends on the type. Climbing and yoga are similar with regard to balance. There are certainly some yoga moves that are strenuous where I can feel my muscles yelling at me. The yoga they offer has a lot of Pilates moves (plank-ish), but it’s probably tailored to climbers and working muscles climbers need.

Sounds like creative writing. A high-powered attorney with time to play 2 instruments in 2 different bands? He left town for Easter but comes from a culture with arranged marriage (unless he's a hardcore British Mormon I can't really see these 2 things going together)? If it's not made up, then a player who gets around enough to have extra women's pajamas at his lake house fed her a truckload of shit about an arranged marriage in order to keep her on the hook but with a very easy exit plan for h…

You're getting flak for this, but I had a BF who at 23 (when I dated him, only for about 6 months) had just graduated and was living in the basement apartment of his parents' house to save for his own apartment and stuff. He wanted to be a writer and worked a decent day job while writing a lot at night. He had like 2 pairs of pants and 3 sweaters total. If you had a relationship full of mismatches (like she really never wants kids and you do, she hates your hobbies, she hates your friends and family, or she has a rough work schedule) then I’d say she’s probably just being honest. I wrote for a magazine that was all about luxury items for men. It will depend where you are, but in mid-00s pre-crash NYC there was huge money to be made in cigar clubs and the guy version of spas (“shaving clubs”). Cigars, watches, bourbon, pens, airplanes. Some guys even got sports cars with Hermès-designed interiors I kid you not.

Except this sort of competitive spirit goes out the window when men whine endlessly about women’s standards and chad. Admittedly actual RP guys tend to be more proactive on that front but on this sub men tend to join the self-pity circle jerk in great numbers about how they don’t need to be better, women need to accept less.

Yeah, I struggled with this because it’s meant to be an exaggerated trope of 50s/60s housewife. But…. She follows her husband’s lead on who to vote for. She quit her modeling career to be a housewife. Admittedly modeling isn’t a long-lived career. She never questions the late nights he comes home. Or when he’s gone from the office for stretches during the day. Well….she only privately questions. Always available to him. Well, I’m not sure, because as everyone pointed out, pickme ranges in definition from a Betty Draper type who will be there smiling in heels to greet her man with a hot meal even if she worked a 12-hour shift that day, to a woman who shaves her legs and wears skirts sometimes. Regardless, I think many men tire of not being challenged on some level and get a bit bored.

I'm sorry that happened. I feel like the amount of crazy people yelling at me/lunging at me in our city has risen a whole lot in the past few years. /r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 07:23 PM

I mean, I'm the outlier of all outliers here on this, and I know it, but yeah, a relationship with a guy ended due to him being too big, which made sex painful, which made us have it infrequently, which... So size had a direct impact on quality, which had a direct impact on frequency, which had a direct impact on non-sex stuff and compatibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 07:20 PM
3

It's not, it kind of goes back centuries. Gothic fiction was all about that too. Edit: I guess RP is extrapolating this a bit incorrectly -- like someone commented, women being drawn to and afraid of male sexual desire does not mean you want some pudgy wannabe alpha guy telling you to go clean the bathroom.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/22 06:25 PM
3

Well, yeah, "Dracula" is all about primal sexual pull. Took still novel Freudian concepts about the id and sexuality and put them in a story about a woman being awakened and drawn to a man who, once she had him, she could never go back to being penned up in Victorian housewife life. NAWALT of course, but the idea of women wanting and being afraid of primal sexual desire/energy isn't new.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/03/22 07:45 PM
6

I mean, I commented yesterday that Will Smith's entire career hinges on him being wholesome and "the good black guy." He's probably exercised his options but not let them get out because that would be damaging to the image. We have no idea what went on in private. And like Slyfer says, it lets guys who can't get any women feel superior to one who could have 100 lined up in minutes if he snapped his fingers.

While ignoring the slew of anecdata the guys on here spout constantly. Guy asks for a study to back up what a woman says because “facts don’t care about your feelings. Woman asks for data to back up what a guy says and he often responds “it’s called seeing reality, sugartits. Try it.”

Yeah, I don't get how self-improvement became a thing specific to them. Every dating manual/advice column/grandparent wisdom since the 1950s or so has said to maximize your looks by being in shape (or not fat at least), having a flattering haircut, wearing good clothes, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/22 04:34 PM
3

This isn't entirely correct, though. Dating advice (or attracting a partner) since at least the 1950s has emphasized grooming and posture and sportiness for guys, and appearance and pleasantness for women. I don't get why RP is taking ownership of things that have been advocated for many decades. In mid-20th century US they used to make short films for teenage boys and girls about how important your appearance was to attract a partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/22 04:29 PM

I like the age gap threads. They attract them too. Guy in thread: "Women over 30 are totally gross, ew, wouldn't touch them if you paid me." Guy in DM: "hey bb"

Huh. One of those people is 9. Except he probably brings up the intellectual average as the rest are my coworkers.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/22 04:05 AM

It’s not that they are afraid of forming emotional attachment. It’s that it is a very intimate thing to do, and doing it with someone you aren’t attracted to or are, at worst, disgusted by, is probably just an extremely unpleasant thing. I mean, the attractive 24-year-old prostitute isn’t worried about “forming an emotional attachment” with her overweight 65-year-old client (for example). It’s also probably easier to dissociate from sex than from kissing.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/22 03:49 PM

Journalism and editorial work. It brings in embarrassingly little, always has, always will.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/22 02:15 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/22 04:02 PM

It was probably that guy going out of his way to try to neg her. Yes, dude, I KNOW you used a truerateme scale but you went out of your way to be a dick, especially since she was just kidding initially.

I mean, you sound broken, dude. But you also aren't making a ton of sense to me, it's like reading a list of RP talking points as delivered by James Joyce, so I'm not sure what's going on. I'll just say "Therapy" like everyone else.

The first one looked like it. Had the creamy gravy they usually put on biscuits, but on meat (looked like a variation of sausage gravy). It was hard to tell but the yellow looked like cheesy grits? It's a little blurry, but I was getting Southern breakfast vibes.

Well…the child should be adjusted by now. You don’t return 3 years later to play fake family. Edit: so, that dream of yours is nice but was very ambitious for a 20-something person. Don’t worry about timelines to get stuff like houses and sports cars. Takes time.

So, I first liked him in "The Station Agent." One day I was in Central Park, I don't know, 2007? Sitting on a bench. Peter Dinklage walks by. I said "It's the guy from The Station Agent!" but my coworker was a philistine and didn't care. I understand that. But I think there is the feeling “if I got it once it’s not impossible” that buffers that a bit. Edit: I think this user was me. So my point wasn't "oh, the pain is neverending" just that even when you have sex and become a person who dates and is sexually active, there are many nights you sleep alone. Like, loneliness is something we all learn to handle. And it's painful for all of us in our own way. But we get it. And once you get over the hurdle, maybe it'll be less painful…

I think it might have to do with your feelings as the former partner also. If the relationship works out, you might feel hurt that she/he was giving a better version of himself/herself to your friend. Why didn't she take more effort with her appearance with me? Why didn't he pull out my chair at dinner and bring me lunch at work once a week? These aren't entirely rational feelings. Rational would be "My friend is a different person, so of course this relationship has nothing to do with me or my …

I mean, you can make all the great points in the world you want to, but there are unquantifiable reasons that it usually ruins your friendship. One of those being that if your friend dumped her, now he has to keep seeing her as part of your partnership with her. If she dumped him, same thing but now it stings. I only say unquantifiable because most of us can't say why exactly it would bother us, but it would. If it's an acquaintance and/or you don't really care about the friendship, then go ahea…

I think you're letting this idea bother you too much. A lot of women here aren't into that. Some are. Also, working class women generally don't get to marry guys a lot richer/more educated than they are unless they were born poor and managed to get a scholarship to a great school and then get a good job. Most mobility is via education, not marriage.

I guess I mean duration of less than a year not leading to marriage. You can get emotionally connected/attached to someone well before you know if you want to marry them. If either one of them had showed up at my door, total stranger, and said "Let's fuck right now" I would not have been down for it. edit: maybe I'm on a demi spectrum; I don't want to have sex until I have an emotional connection, but it doesn't take me forever to establish one (few weeks?) and it's not like I need to be certain…

/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/22 04:51 PM

Guys give a sob story of a dead bedroom to the mistress and probably their friends, because it maximizes the chances of pussy and sympathy, respectively. But if you read the marriage/mistress/relationship/adultery subs it's amazing how many wives end up getting pregnant from the apparently one and only time they have sex with their husbands in 5 years. Dudes are more likely to be cake-eaters. How that also became some sort of virtuous position on this sub I'll never know.

When I was in college in the late 1990s it was the 1970s. Beastie Boys Sabotage video, Quentin Tarantino's 70s aesthetic, the return of 70s music and fashion and TV shows. …

Start sleepwalking (sexuality awakened) and get fucked bitten by undead chad, keep going back again and again in the middle of the night when good beta boy's asleep. This makes no sense from an RP perspective (as flaired by OP). If a man is amassing his worth so he can pull women when he in his 30s...he's then going to turn around and make a woman pay her own share? Why bother with "worth"? If a 35-year-old version of you is competing with the 25-year-old version of you and will win every time...what is 35-year-old you offering, if not resources? I mean, abortion wasn't legal/safe for most of human history and that stopped very few people. I didn't have casual sex in terms of sleeping with someone outside an established relationship that was monogamous. I guess I did if we are defining "casual" as "all sex outside of marriage." No, I wouldn't have stopped. Birth control methods were always sufficient. Condoms worked and the pill worked. Most people who get pregnant do so because they did not employ birth control or did not do so properly…

/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/22 10:18 PM

I was raised that way (traditional), but I was in high school early-mid 1990s. There was still Reagan-ish conservatism going on, plus the HIV/AIDS scare. It wasn’t 1950s or anything (nobody was expected to be a virgin until marriage unless religious) but if you slept with people you got a reputation unless it was your long-term boyfriend. So yeah, "good girls don't...much" was the theme.

When something “subversive” gains traction there are always people trying to muscle in, push the old to the center and expand into a new frontier. Playboy was topless so Hustler showed “the pink.” Then the pink became standard and magazines started trying to outdo each other for an edge. Fox News was nuts and then OAN came along. Now Fox is stuck in the center (“center”) with a lot of Boomers trying to claw back the migrants to fringe channels. Perez Hilton got trampled by younger, newer gossip …

Yeah, either catfished or he ignored a bunch of stuff suggesting she was superficial (like her photo, for one). You could argue the other way too—postwar (WW II) the economic boom in the US (and, later, a rise in stability in Europe) gave rise to a trad system that Millennials decided to buck against. That the “boring” lives of Boomers and Greatest Generation seemed stale and unappealing because they were familiar but also taken for granted. I think it's more common for CSA survivors to re-enact their trauma (which is where the line between kind and something very bad gets blurred) than it is to express desire and attraction to everyone. Even if they are hypersexual, it usually doesn't manifest like this, more like self-abasement. That said, this seems like another piece of TOMC creative writing.

My kid at 5 was telling everyone in class Santa didn't exist. This was not something I told him. In fact, I wanted to use Santa as a behavioral manipulation tactic, but he just looked at me and solemnly said, "Nobody can visit every house on earth in one night. People get married mostly to create a stable nuclear family unit, that is how it's always been. A lot of more educated guys (ie, grad degrees...profs and doctors mostly) IME have preferred daughters and will state this pretty openly. Aside from that, girls are more likely to care for you when you're old. And it's just easier raising a girl. Girls are allowed to be anything; boys are not. You're allowed to be emotional and messy…

Youth = beauty is not some subversive narrative. It's in 90% of TV, movies, media (social media included), and ads, not to mention the huge industries in cosmetic surgery, diet aids, "anti-aging" beauty products, hair dye, etc. A few people on Twitter saying "Sixty is the new forty" is not going to topple this mountain of messaging.

I'm not sure what you mean. You don't think wealth inequality plays into it? And yes, I have read the take that the decline of marriage and society is down to women and not economic factors and that trying to point to wealth disparity is just women's way of escaping culpability for their hypergamy.

You can't do it because the minute you talk about wealth or macro issues or lack of social safety net or the cratering of blue collar work and outsourcing they get mad you're taking the focus away from the real villain: women. That has been a thing for 25 years (that's the amount of time I've been an adult). So many tortured discussions on "how do you know if s/he's the one?"

The Russian ex’s mom used to send Belarusian crackers and other foods to him via her office (sent to my work office) because she was convinced the customs or post people would steal them. I was convinced it was drugs and freaked out but when he opened the box it was just blini, crackers, candy, tea, jam and stuff from home. All that subterfuge for some food treats.

That's true. I believe there are guys who think "If I just had one girlfriend I'd never let her go." And that could be true. But it's also possible that if a guy got one girlfriend he'd get validation for at least a little bit of FOMO ("if I could get ONE pretty girl, maybe there are others out there who would like me too..."). I think some feelings of FOMO are natural for men and women when they're young.

Yeah, even dated one who hit the wall at 28 and decided it was time to find "mother of my kids" while he was still young enough to pull young women. Of course, that is called personal growth and maturing when men do it but AF/BB when women do. The idea that 24-year-old men in full-throttle FOMO will screech to a halt and commit to the special woman who's good enough to make him renounce his fuckboy ways is nuts.

I think they are, but they have aggressive screening for guys and can have a zero tolerance policy regarding his past, whereas many FDS women came to FDS because they made mistakes in their own past with "LVM." Like a guy who was a loner or nerd in high school is sus, but shy women or women with questionable pasts are allowed to glow up, move on, and demand "HVM." I think it's that attitude (cutting yourself slack but nobody else) that's problematic.

Well...yes. And therein lies the problem. Neither side makes it really possible to find someone who meets their standards. If you are RP, and you meet one of these sexually conservative women, her withholding sex from you is viewed as a red flag, and she also isn't going to play forever girlfriend (or sign a prenup). If you are FDS...well...sorry, but the Disney prince or Fifty Shades dude or whoever isn't coming to rescue you and bring you to his castle/penthouse and shower you with gifts.

Well, there's love and then there's marriage and honestly the two weren't meant to always be the same. Marriage is a social unit for creating a family and people who think you're able to sustain that new relationship energy for 40 years are delusional. People who think burning desire is the only thing that matters for a marriage are also delusional. You should marry someone you desire, but there's just a lot more to it than that if you're going to be raising kids and tackling life as a unit. Als…

I don’t know. My family were poor Mennonite farmers but when great-great grandma got knocked up at 17 by what we believe to be a young farm worker from Lithuania, she and her mother were hidden away for the pregnancy and the baby was raised as her sister, a miracle “change of life” baby for her parents. People are scapegoating women for the vast economic inequality that exists all over the world. The evaporation of the middle class means people can’t afford to have families or kids, that our society will continue to have a few winners while the rest toil away on a treadmill. I used to ask this. "So why is nobody ever mad at the hot guys for 'dumpster diving' and validating women's high standards, rather than the women who agree to have sex with them?" But I usually got something about biological imperatives to spread seed, male sexual urges being nearly impossible to control, and a fuckton of downvotes, so I gave up. Somehow women are supposed to inherently know when a guy is out of her league, even a little bit, and turn him down accordingly.

We also get that tough love from like every magazine article, diet pill ad, makeup display, and dating advice column/book. I can't imagine a single woman who has grown up and not received the message "be thin and pretty to catch a man." Men never see this because this isn't targeted to them. They see one feminist post on Twitter and not the 50 pages of ads for diet products, makeup, push-up bras/Spanx, heels, hair care products and other things we are supposed to buy to make men like us.

I dated back before texting was much of a thing, so to me this seems normal. You don't want to exhaust your excitement and conversation in texting. Also, it was considered bad form for women or men to call too much. Signaled clinginess. Y'all gonna yell about me being old again, and I get it, but think about the idea of saving your energy and anticipation for the in-person date. Plenty of time to text back and forth if you end up getting serious.

Age as well as age they got married. A 35-year-old single guy will (presumably) have more than a 50-year-old guy who married at 25. I'd say anything above 20 seems quite high for both.

I think it depends. I mean, there are some people who think an age gap is 5 years (which is ridiculous). /r/PurplePillDebate25/02/22 04:49 PM

The usual explanation is the men with high n counts have to really work hard for it so it’s not impulse control. This doesn’t mesh at all with the statements like “all Chad has to do is show up” and “you know she hooked up with Chad on the first date” and “only a few guys are fucking all the women,” which imply hot guys can get sex with almost no effort. I do think high n count indicates poor impulse control for both sexes.

That’s why this sub likes to fixate on young (18-22) women. To get that shy, gorgeous, virginal slut goddess before she sleeps with a lot of guys (and then she may have had better sex with someone other than our hero). Uninhibited/low n count usually does not go together.

Ok, so she sleeps with him quickly. Now he is wondering how many other first dates she slept with quickly. I didn’t have sex on a first date for personal reasons (and no casual sex also for personal reasons), but if I had first date sex, my n count would be about…50? 60? That’s insane. Like the other guy said, this is a self-own for guys. Edit: I did not downvote you. Someone downvoted me (don’t know or care who), but that’s just life on here.

If there weren’t dozens of men on here saying they want sex on the first date then I might agree. But as the endless discussions on “I want her to have sex with me right away” show, men do want a promiscuous woman.

I just cannot anymore. Most of these guys are not parents so it’s useless anyway as they have no idea what raising a kid is like. Most of them never lived on welfare either so they have no idea what that’s like either. I have experience with both. The shit they’re saying is laughable.

I didn't have a height requirement, but I'm a shorty (5'4") with a shorty dad (5'7"?). Weirdly enough all my half-brothers are over 6 feet even though my stepmom is short as well (and yeah, they actually all look like my dad before you drag out *that* line of thought). Dating before OLD you didn't have a filter where you could plug in a range of desired qualities. You met a guy at the bar and if he was taller than you it was OK.

I mean, I still think in person it wouldn't be as bad for him. I live in LA, where 5 foot 3 dudes from Bolivia can pull (nobody likes that line of argument, but still, it does happen). It's just harder and I don't envy him. Also, Duke is a place where you're surrounded by professional-level athletes. He's playing on Death March mode.

I know. I’m usually in agreement with the women here but this is weird. He said he wants someone for traveling and exploring, not “someone to do a decathlon with me.” And despite being skinny and extremely exercise averse in my youth I never would’ve turned down a guy with a really muscular body.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 10:11 PM
1

Hey…you’re the guy! Yeah, I can’t believe how much people are extrapolating from a small online profile I’m lazy as shit but unless a guy said he wanted a workout partner I wouldn’t assume he did. I’m nearly always with the women on here but this one has me puzzled.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 10:06 PM
3

Yeah, I'm thinking of the threads yesterday that got nuked, so I can't really specify so I'll try to be vague: if he gives himself too much of an edge he might attract women he may not want and alienate the ones he does want; unfortunately, some of the ones he does want are already biased against him to begin with (see yesterday's posts...). However, I do think he has hope in person with sporty girls and geeky girls in real life where personality can come through more.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 09:48 PM

Yeah, but we can't really discuss that because of thread rules (and yesterday's posts on this, which are coming to mind, got nuked from orbit).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 09:44 PM
2

Hmmm...yeah, as a shorty who used to weigh 110 lbs, very tall super-muscular guys did actually intimidate me. Tall slender guys did not. I'm sure other women felt similarly. Probably only comes into play above 6 foot 2 or 3, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/22 09:42 PM

Really? That feels like a lot to extrapolate based on a few characters, though. It's not like your whole personality's going to shine in 4 sentences.

Oh, this was in the daily. First off, I'll say that the thread there is "what am I doing wrong" and people are probably going to be more inclined to give actionable advice. "Grow 6 inches" is useless. Like, OK, thanks. So people are pointing to stuff to maximize his profile rather than make him feel like shit about something he can't change. Second, yes, it's his height unfortunately, he's probably being filtered out and not even appearing in matches (someone said Bumble has a height filter). *s…

Live in a big city. Things are definitely more impersonal. Also, the people tend to be better-looking, so it’s more of a competition. In NYC, I wasn’t invisible but it wasn’t like I got a ton of attention. Deep South, smaller town? A lot more. Like night and day.

He wasn't unattractive, though. I think he looked *just* approachable enough, looks-wise, to seem within reach to these women (the Norwegian girl was quite cute herself). If 32-year-old Brad Pitt had gone on there and said he was a diamond heir I bet far fewer people would've believed him, or at least they'd have their guard up for the catch. Maybe not, I don't know. People are gullible.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/22 11:55 PM

Yeah, I'm not sure how this is RP because "extremely wealthy guys attract women" is something everyone on earth knows. It's not a pill ideology, it's common knowledge.

Watching this sub try to hamster "I want to be hookup material and get sex on the first date" and "I don't want a woman with a high n count/I want a virgin" is fascinating. Not all guys take both stances simultaneously (some guys who want upfront sex don't care about n count), but there is significant overlap.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/22 08:30 PM
7

Yes. Yes. Part of that is due to society being weird about platonic male friendships and social circles where people can share feelings, like women can. Not sure what that means. Yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/22 08:08 PM
3

Yeah, in personal experience the women most susceptible to lies and flattery (fuckboy-style) were upper middle class/upper class daddy's girls, precisely because they had a lot of male support and validation growing up and didn't have a ton of suspicion.

No, having an absent, addict dad made me way more sexually conservative because I didn't want to be used, lied to, and abandoned. I didn't want to end up like my mother. Also, I ended up being raised by my grandparents, who were born in the 1920s and far more old time traditional. Never had casual sex for exactly the reasons mentioned above. I think many women end up seeking validation from guys to make up for the missing validation from their absent dad, but not all. I think some tend to go the…

I’ll give you that OLD gas changed a lot, but we talk about more than that on here. I don’t tell virgins they can’t have opinions on sex; it’s the same thing. There’s guys on here who say dumb shit but I don’t assume they’re ugly. Most people here are probably average.

/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/22 04:00 PM

Yeah, that’s a whole lotta projection. Most of us have said we are average. Gimpgirl is a masochist trying to get business for her YouTube so I wouldn’t use her as an example. If men were cool with dating promiscuous women, then maybe more women might be more free sexually. But when men say they don't take promiscuous women seriously ("I'm not gonna wife up a ho") and say they'll just use them for sex, they can't be shocked that women pull back sexually with men they want to date seriously, or women pull back out of fear of being used for sex.

And if you believed them, in all instances the man was begging his wife to return to work ASAP and dump the kid in day care but she refused because being a SAHM meant sitting on the couch while the kid raised itself. Apparently day care is free (since there is no financial benefit). And men don't say things like "I don't want strangers raising my kid." And women who stay home are not putting in any labor watching the kid. It's basically the guy is working and the woman is reaping the benefits.

Well, as a crone I learned some things about online dating and the availability of sex for women. I do think that the prevalence of women racking up sex partners into the triple digits is still greatly overstated, however. No, the ones I think are the worst are guys who have had at least some success with women. There are some who say very specific dog-whistle blackpill or incel things, though. Usually this gets modded. Not always. I think a few have straight-up said they're incels. It also depends how he expresses it. "I wish I could feel love/sex/a woman loving me/whatever" is very different from "Bitches, even fat ones, won't even look at me because I'm not 6 feet."
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 06:58 PM

I was referring to the recent exodus in the article she posted. The one from the past 2-5 years. Flagship university towns are usually blue, often due to all the university employees who live there. Austin also had that music scene that drew from larger, bluer cities.

No, it's conservatives leaving CA for Texas. Not liberals making an exodus to turn it purple.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 06:30 PM

Unfortunately, bouldering bros often travel in packs, which can be intimidating. But not always. Usually there's a few lone ones in there. Since you need a partner for top-rope climbing, one strategy could be to take an intro class by yourself, then find a FB group or meetup for climbers in your area and post saying you're looking for a partner. It's not a perfect strategy, but it's a strategy.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 06:16 PM

Good. Fewer assholes in SoCal the better. I never got the idea that liberal people should martyr themselves by moving to conservative areas (or vice versa) to "help restore balance" or turn a state purple or make people see the light or whatever. Nope, you'll be forced to do shit you don't agree with and your vote is subsumed under a mudslide of opposition. Fuck that.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/22 12:06 AM

How is it hypocrisy? It's only hypocrisy if you are demanding your BF's email and phone passwords but getting mad he doesn't trust you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/22 11:58 PM

Guys dump women for doing this all the time. Nobody likes being accused of things they didn't do. Nobody likes having their partners following them around with endless suspicion they didn't deserve. People get dumped for this.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/22 11:50 PM

Pretty much. After the test comes back and the kid is his many women will just say "fuck that" and hop online because apparently he already thinks the worst. I'd also be pretty mad he thought I'd be dumb enough to not only fuck around, but to do so without protection. Don't insult my intelligence that way.

It felt like rage bait. The same way the posts about "I dumped my 45-year-old wife who raised my 3 kids for my 22-year-old girlfriend, whom I shower with expensive gifts" are rage bait. Both things - paternity fraud and devoting your life to someone who dumps you for a younger model - are rare but touch a nerve.

Nobody knows, as tests are usually done by people who already suspect their wives of cheating, leading to sample bias.

All this hysteria over what seemed like an incredibly fake post. So a woman goes on Reddit to ask how to defraud someone? While making herself look as bad as possible and tapping into the male hatred of child support and fear of false paternity to boot? She turned to the Reddit hivemind for this?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/22 03:55 PM

When I delivered my first kid (in US) they asked (while I was in labor) if I wanted them to go ahead and tie my tubes while we were at it. They ask every woman delivering, I think. Kind of weird they don’t want to do it for childfree women but are happy to do it the minute you push out the first one.

KW couldn't hold a frame in a picture gallery, but I'm pretty sure he has severe mental health issues that seem to be going untreated right now. PD dated Kate Beckinsale too, so maybe he has a thing for older hot women? I think 95% of TRP is nonsense, but it also probably doesn't apply to celebrities. KK is a single mom (well, divorced mom) who can afford a fleet of nannies and a cosmetics team and personal trainers too.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 08:11 PM

So in good (?) news, a lot of women don't come from PIV (penis-in-vagina) sex. So if you get good at oral/finger stimulation, it won't matter cause they weren't going to come through penetration anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 07:46 PM

I am not sure whether to take you seriously or not. whoo boy....well, I'm not going to spoil the fun. edit: I can't believe I'm saying this but...I agree with gimpgirl -- about insecurity being the issue and not size.

Magazine articles and PR stuff, mostly. It's just since COVID everything slowed down so there's a lot less to write about. Everyone got tired of big upping Zoom events about a year ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 05:55 PM

I dated before OLD, so it was a lot more labor-intensive to score dates, but yeah, on principle I'd only go with one guy at once. I'm a oneitis poster girl.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 05:49 PM

Yeah, my work has been incredibly slow lately. As my posting history shows. I'm a writer, though, so that and "stupid money" rarely go together.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/22 04:21 PM

Yeah. She’s not as cute on Instagram but she’s still not bad or anything. I think she’s just kind of average. Not great, not bad. She seems to get paid a lot for being a writer, though, so I will have to be bitter toward her on principle now.

It’s just a stereotype. The same way guys insult women by referring to cats. That said, gaming implies retreating into your insular space rather than going out and trying to socialize in person, so maybe it’s shorthand for cutting yourself off too.

Yeah, someone noted this in another thread. He said sometimes it's a woman you might be hot (or warm at least) for in the moment but not otherwise. I guess when you see terms like "dumpster-diving" you don't get the sense that there is really any attraction at all because it gives off strong connotations of garbage/disgust. The other thread was all about guys laughing at how ugly the women were they had banged.

They're not attracted to bad narcissists, usually. As in, self-involved bores or bad liars. Unfortunately, good narcissists are pretty good at talking themselves up and selling their BS to others. And then others want that validation from them. They're usually personable and charming and are good at attracting orbiters by making the orbiters feel like they're in a club led by the cool guy/girl. Cult leaders are an extreme example.

InNew York it was definitely men punching up in relationships, no question. Don’t yell at me about West Elm Caleb; he was going for quantity not quality and quick hookups. Men who are relationship-minded in that city were rare so women were happy to find a guy who wasn’t in FOMO madness. I will note some people disagree and say women are hypergamous to the nth degree there but I saw a lot of women taking what they could get. /r/PurplePillDebate16/02/22 12:11 AM

No, there is a branch of feminism that opposed faultless divorce for that reason. You stay home to raise 2 kids and suddenly a guy decides he just doesn't want you anymore, and he walks off with his job and salary, which never took a hit due to childbearing. You end up not being able to afford as good a lawyer and getting peanuts to raise the kids. It wasn't an issue everyone agreed on.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/22 12:05 AM
14

Men are more likely to stay and cheat (cake-eating). Women are more likely to divorce if there's infidelity on her side or on his side. People do tend to ignore that many women file because they discovered their husband was cheating. Rich guys sometimes just take the financial hit and file for divorce so they can play with their shiny new toy as much as they want for a decade or two.

It’s fine to get along better with guys but if a woman doesn’t have any female friends and is actively avoiding making them it’s a bit of a red flag. Most women have met the lone girl in the “guys’ group” who mate guards her orbiters like a jackal.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/22 07:07 AM

No, there are the pick mes who want orbiters. “All my friends are guys; I just can’t deal with girl drama.” Then when one of the guys finds a girlfriend she’ll say stuff like “I have to approve of her.” Or “I get veto power.”

I don’t especially think they are a problem. It’s their life. If they want to cook and clean and play bangmaid to some guy just to have a man around and not be alone…so be it. That’s an extreme case. It's not a false dichotomy. If you are in favor of privatizing literally everything and providing no public services, then yes, you're consistent. I did, but it wasn't limited by any means to sexual jealousy, just general self-esteem. Around 24 I went to therapy and worked on that, and the sexual insecurity vanished along with it. However, there comes an age for men when they need to stop expecting to find Sleeping Beauty and understand their girlfriends have had sexual partners before. And if you are looking for an attractive girl, it's highly unlikely all of her former partners were ugly or terrible in bed.

Red pill has advice about "spinning plates." That is to say, a man should sleep with several women on a rotation (usually without them knowing about each other) but not commit to them or do relationship things with them. The idea is to have an abundance mentality (where you aren't chasing one woman because you fear having nobody, or you're overly thirsty for sex so you'll do whatever she wants). I don't think fuckboys are serial daters. Fuckboys don't care about the thrill of the chase; they want to get laid. They don't care if a woman likes them, falls for them, is won over. In fact, the less chasing the better, probably. And the fewer feelings she has for him, the better. The equivalent might be a woman who just wants free dinners but doesn't care about the guy who's providing them. In fact, the less conversation the better, all the quicker to eat. Better he not even like you so you d…

This is understandable. However, what is "the best"? Do you care only about looks? Sex? Money? Or do you have to be the best in everything? Also, it sets up a strange situation where if a woman dates a guy who, say, is very handsome, and after a year they break up...does she simply just not date anyone else? Only date men who are as handsome or more so than the previous guy? It's kind of a "climb up on that funeral pyre" type of situation here. Like women are being punished for relationships wit…

In the past your dating was limited to your friend/family circles, neighborhood, professional circles and maybe some activities you joined. So you naturally paired off with people in your general realm. You could be a teacher who married a doctor, but generally teachers didn’t marry millionaires unless they moonlighted as super high-end escorts or something. Most people seemed to pair off with people about their income level. I think to restore balance you’d need to get rid of online dating (or …

I don’t get how I’m being creepy. I put the term in quotes to say that a guy sitting alone in a park might be seen as creepy or noteworthy by some people, but nobody would look twice at a man-woman couple. Yea you can shit on him for only being able to get unattractive women, but guess what, if he wasn't working to stay fit, then he wouldn't be getting any women let along ones that aren't that attractive. OK, fair enough. I guess I wonder why you'd even want to have sex with someone you weren't attracted to (how could it even be enjoyable?), but this is where I realize I'm different from ... probably a lot of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 09:42 PM
6

But what's the point of being attractive if you aren't fucking attractive people? How long can a guy retain his high value if he's consistently sleeping with women much less attractive than he is? No, I don't think getting fucked and ghosted is a good deal. That's why I didn't have casual sex. However, I can't presume to know what the women having it are feeling (do they want a relationship? did they just want to have sex?). If all they wanted was to get laid, well...the deal was favorable.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 09:31 PM
1

I was never into casual sex. But other people are, which is fine. I'm not judging them. I'm also married now (although when you post this into usually at least 3 guys on here respond telling you to make an OnlyFans anyway).
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 09:25 PM
5

This argument (in OP) never makes any sense because you're asking the women who are getting the better end of the deal to stop the deal that's beneficial to them, whereas the men (who, it is always put forth, are getting a worse deal) are never asked to stop accepting a bad deal.

Exactly; you see social media posts about stuff like this and it's the men who are all "every boy's dream!" I rarely see any women giving an "attaboy" or saying "he's a boy; obviously he wanted it." Having a son I'm pretty concerned that society STILL seems to find underage boys unable to be victims because "boys want it all the time." However, I don't think men help their case by acting like "men will fuck anything" or "men always want sex."
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 08:41 PM

I do too, but teens generally find "older" men who are like, mid/late 20s to be hot. I never got shamed for any age gap relationship; the only time I *was* made to feel bad was by a 40-year-old who asked me on a date when I was 22, and then got mad and called me a prude when I said I thought he was a little old for me.

I do get where you’re coming from. Fifty Shades of Grey only works if the guy’s rich and hot (or at the least very rich). Otherwise it’s a “Dateline” episode.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 07:18 PM
6

I never got any flak about mine with older guys. They weren’t predatory relationships either. But the age gap did make physical attraction less, that’s all. It’s when men pretend that the only reason they can’t pull 20-year-olds at 45 is “society” that it gets problematic. Adults can sleep with other adults; but if a young woman doesn’t want to sleep with a guy 20 years older than she is, it’s probably due to lack of attraction, not shaming or anything else.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 07:15 PM
3

This poster has had a thing about age gaps lately. It’s kind of like in magazines where they keep trying to find new angles for older stories. This time it’s Puritanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 04:17 PM
6

I’m sex-positive and think adults can fuck whoever they want. But I think men vastly overestimate their attractiveness to young women. Then, when barely legal women don’t respond enthusiastically to the prospect of their 40-year-old dicks they blame older women for “shaming” the teenagers into not fucking them. Because obviously the girls would be riding them 4 times a day into the sunset if it weren’t for pesky older women.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 04:11 PM

You seem to have a thing about age gaps. You are free to date much younger women. Nobody is stopping you. People will probably think you’re being used for your money, but this isn’t unique to America. You think in Vietnam when people see an 18-year-old woman with a fat 60-year-old white guy they aren’t clocking the nature of that relationship? They look at it and see true love? You’re free to date an 18-year-old if she will have you.

I thought journalism was the future. Guess which one of us is living in Pacific Heights in a huge house and owns a cottage in Switzerland?

Sometimes it's black, too (if the guy himself doing the questioning is white), since there's a lot going on with that stereotype. Basically, you can find a reason for any ethnicity that's not your own.

I've seen that people will dig and dig to find that one immutable trait that explains their lack of success. Literally, a woman says "my BF is short" then it becomes "is his cock huge?" and if it's average then it's "is he white [or insert race here]" etc. on down the line until "aha! It's his strong jaw" or something. I understand this because this is the sort of shit I would do to justify not making efforts to do things (not dating per se, but even just meeting people after moving to a new pla…

Because I thought there was some 40-year-old who liked her and it was a 15-year age difference or something (not that 10 years is that much less, but it's less ... outsized, at least). I only have 1 kid. I remember reading a (humor) parenting book and it said something like "People with more than 1 kid will try to guilt you into having more because they will have realized you have only half-ruined your life." It was funny but a little true (although we stopped at one for other reasons).

I'm not trying to be Team Childfree. There are benefits. It's just that society has amplified the idyllic nature of parenthood, how joyful and wonderful it's supposed to be, and if it's not you're doing it wrong. Social media's made it worse. Friend of mine was always bragging about her daughter spelling words on the fridge magnets at age 3. Baking cookies all by herself at 5. Etc. She wrote us all a long email recently about how she's getting divorced. And I'm not throwing shade, it's just you …

Probably. Unfortunately, having a kid is one of those things you absolutely can't plan your way into. I imagine very, very few parents are exactly the parents they *thought* they'd be before having kids. But they definitely place a good deal of stress on a marriage.

I have, but for every good-looking straight guy there seem to be at least 3 hot women. It’s a city full of female-centric professions, many of which happen to require good looks, like acting, PR/marketing, dance, modeling, publishing/magazines, etc. And lots of gay men. The numbers really are skewed. I think it’s 1.3 women per man, not factoring in gay men or lesbians (and there are more gay men than lesbians).

I think a lot of people here are young. Absolutism is more prevalent among the young. One thing I find interesting is men getting mad at women for “wanting a Disney princess fairytale” with romance and sex with a hot guy, but then they will also go on to rip women in those advice threads apart for not having sex with their 15-years’ husband for 2 months during some stressful period. The real Disney fantasy is happily ever after, where the two never age or face stress or anything else that alters…

Married over 10 years. I’ll just say that children can add a lot of stress to a marriage. A whole lot. Some is bad. Some of it makes you feel like a true partnership. It’s complicated. The romance part will wax and wane. But it would take a lot for me to divorce.

Yes, the research has indicated women who cheat tend to leave; men who cheat tend to stay (but often end up divorced once the wife finds out). Men are more often the cake-eaters.

They care about look first, but looks (ie, obesity) is strongly correlated to socioeconomic background. So you’re already on auto-filter where the hot women are at least middle class. How many hot IHOP waitresses are there? How many hot nursing home caregivers? People are hot because of their income and background. Poor women who work hard in school and get an OK job can make the leap to middle class but the actually poor are out of sight to the rich.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/22 02:46 AM

Rich people tend to be hotter and don’t need to game others into wanting them. They also have more options. One thing that we tiptoe around here about is the correlation between class and looks. Obesity is concentrated among the poor. When guys try the flex “we don’t care about your career” it’s kind of ridiculous because their looks threshold can probably only be met by MC or UMC women. I don’t even really get FDS and their vetting, but it seems like they want rich guys, but rich women don’t ne…

I've noticed people, at least in the US, tend to self-identify as middle class a lot--my metalworker dad does, so does my ex-boyfriend, who's a surgeon (now married to another doctor). People who grow up in a double-income household where both parents were professionals tend to think they're solidly middle class and thus "average." Edit: the point is that most upper middle class people see themselves as "average" even if they aren't.

The one where they were all (save Dorothy) widows whose long-term husbands died before they did? That happens anyway. Most women outlive men. It wasn't a dumpy house. It was a fairly spacious home in Miami. Unless you make day care affordable or free, you are going to have situations where it’s more financially advantageous for women to stay home with kids for a few years. Even when it’s not a financial drain, there are many reasons couples (not just women) decide to have the mother stay home to care for the children. You can’t just pop right back into your old job 6 years after the fact. So under this set of circumstances, a woman will not have the option to stay home. Because if she does, her par…

They've developed standardized tests. Some kids don't test well, and in those instances they might test IQ to see if it's just a question of not testing well. There's also teacher discretion -- if the teacher believes strongly enough that a kid is exceptional but it's not coming through in standardized metrics like testing and IQ, the teacher can sometimes make a strong case for the kid to be placed in a gifted program. I'm not a psychologist, teacher, or administrator so I can't really say if t…

No, the laws have been around since the mid-1980s in some form. They actually accelerated in popularity in the 2000s. They were one of those think tank laws that some central PAC/interest group writes up the framework bill, then it's like Mad Libs where legislators in each state tailor the language to fit their state's laws. Organized labor helped. Back then my grandfather made enough as a carpenter to support his wife and 3 kids for 10 years in a 1,700-sq-foot house, but my grandmother did have to go back to work in a clerical job when the oldest was old enough to watch the others. In working-class families women often worked in some capacity, way before feminism. My great-grandmothers (the ones who weren’t farmers) worked in shops in the city in the 1920s. If I get into how I knew I was narrow, it'd probably put these guys off their dinner. Hm, which means no downside. I'll have to think of another.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/22 01:16 AM

No, never. Because I'm a smaller than average woman (even been to the doc about it and had it confirmed) and average is OK but above average hurts. Width-wise, at least. People will give me shit about this I'm sure, but, eh.

According to TRP, such miracles don't exist. What about his hair? His jaw? I know that's more blackpill, but immutable characteristics are scapegoated by many red-flaired guys on here, to the point I wonder if they've been absorbed by osmosis. Surely there is something immutable one could point to that would explain why he's succeeding and they're not. We can go to wrists if we have to.

I meant that when we are calculating the percentage of obese people in the US, I'm not sure there are enough muscular people being misclassified as obese for it to be skewing the numbers.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 05:41 PM
3

This is true, but I feel like we keep getting bogged down in "borderline" cases or outliers on the discussion. If you've lived somewhere like the US South, you're not seeing a ton of muscular people of West African or Pacific Island descent who are being classified wrongly due to physical variation. You're seeing 400-pound people on Ramblers at the Kroger. I could be wrong because I'm not her, but I'd be very surprised if Gabby Douglas is being told she's fat or needs to lose weight due to her B…

Yeah, acting like most American men are classified as fat because they’re really too in shape is laughable. I can only guess the people arguing this don’t live in the South.

5’4” and 120 pounds, which even a French doc called “perfect” (for people obsessing about North American skewed expectations, this is a European medical standard as well), is 20.6.

I wrote this reply and it’s gone now. I’ll recap I honestly don’t recall that conversation on here. I think that is extreme (and sounds more like a joke than anything that would happen), but I don’t think going without sex for a few weeks is going to harm society in the way a blanket refusal to work would (if we assume all men would do this). For the second point I’ve never said any man should be forced into war. I’m very aware that war is what rich people do while poor ones die. I’m from a poor…

I suppose I was thinking more like “I really like you; let’s just see where this goes” if you actually know where it’s going (nowhere). Or on the girl’s side “You’re really sweet; I’m not really looking to date right this second, though I can’t predict the future” when she can predict his future (never going to date him). I guess that’s what I meant by bad faith. I agree your example of vague is more honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 03:56 PM

Yeah, my kid’s school is 90% Latino (not an exaggeration) and there are a LOT of Mexican American Trumpers. Legal immigration plus “law and order.” I know an illegal immigrant from Ecuador who was pro-Trump (didn’t vote, of course). His wife said it was a machismo thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 03:51 PM

People hate the “couples at Walmart” solipsism, but I seriously wonder if people don’t go outside and see all the married gardeners, plumbers, electricians, bus drivers and other people who actually power our society, rather than Bitcoin traders who think they do.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 03:41 PM

I think he meant the power of groupthink, as in people who consider themselves patriots or upholders of law and order ended up storming the Capitol (the opposite action of what they say they stand for). The same way people who say they care about family and tradition could set up arranged marriage and semi-legalized rape (two things we never had) to “preserve” them.

Vague answers because you’re not sure yourself what you want are one thing. Vague answers where you do know what you want but are lying (because being vague would be lying there) to string the person along to keep getting what you want are bad faith and lies.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 03:06 PM

Yes, this is true. I do find it chilling how many try to couch their basically pro-rape arguments in societal/cultural terms. Like “collapse of the West.” Or terrorism. “Give us sex or we will stop working and society will fall.”

Change your mindset by limiting your TikTok and social media. It’s going to set up negative comparisons in your head. I realize it’s easier said than done but it really helps when you detox. Just take a break for 2 days and see if there’s a change in your mood. Second…I realize you feel used but being mean to strangers just because they’re women is pretty mean. Set boundaries so you aren’t taken advantage of by women.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/22 06:57 AM

But...half of the pill of this sub holds to the idea literally "all women are like that." So...yes. It sucks. But this stereotyping is like a foundational tenet of half the sub. I agree it gets tiring pushing back against people who claim you're lying or they actually know you better than you know yourself.

So, I guess it just makes me wince a little. And because I'm not a huge fan I put it in quotes. Kind of like "ho phase" or other things people say where I'm not a huge fan but I'm not necessarily upset -- I'm just not writing it myself because I feel they convey a connotation I don't necessarily agree with. To be honest, I didn't really have irritation or anything in mind when putting it in quotes. I was pointing to that specific part and quoting it. I could have just said promiscuous if I wante…

I only know they blocked me because they must've done it halfway through a daily thread and once they did I could still see the pre-block time posts but with "deleted" as the user name (could still see the text of the post). After blocking I saw nothing from that user going forward.

I had a pretty low count but nobody cared after age 24 or so. It gets a little weird after a while, to care about that sort of thing. In fact, on here women with lower counts (and virgins) have said that guys who are hyper-focused on low counts (and virginity) freak them out.

That is a very sad but cuddly-looking raccoon, even if I know they're trash demons from hell. Yeah, that's a pretty awful thing to say to someone. I didn't do hookups. My first BF in high school did play football but he was not part of the football crowd (he studied in all his free time because he was desperate to go to a good college; he didn't go to parties and kept very much to himself while at school). I did have a BF later (mid-20s) who was very sporty (played college baseball) but he had I…

I don’t try to understand. I just marvel. I don’t agree with anything whatsoever she says, but she adds color to the discussion, that’s for sure. They say it’s a toolbox. Unfortunately very often the worst tools seem to get picked up. I agree that it teaches men to believe women have “ulterior motives,” like you say. But I feel that’s fundamental: there are a lot of RP practices (spinning plates, dread game…I realize RP itself doesn’t outright say “lie to get women to fuck you” but many RP guys here endorse this practice) that require a man to not treat women very well. One way of overcoming that resistance is to tell a man that “she shot…

No, even now I’m the age where I know divorced dads, they prefer divorced moms. If you don’t want any more kids, why date a woman who wants them? She’d just be pressuring you to change your mind all the time. Fundamentally incompatible.

You have summed up the RP dream girl. The tradwife who will give him her virginity on the second date and who will go Dutch on everything while dating, care for the kids (and go back to her high-paying job the minute he feels she needs to start earning again) and sign a prenup.

People got married at like 19; it wasn’t that hard to be a virgin on your wedding night if you married as a teen (and unless you went to prostitutes guys weren’t getting to sleep around either).

I don’t know. I think hourglass shape is more like it…she was not heavy by any stretch, probably a 4-6 in today’s sizes (a 12 back then). But it’s probably subjective. Hourglass is probably closest to an ideal (or “widely popular”) as we can get.

I mean, I said in another comment I think it’s not a great metric. If you took a 110-pound, 5’4” woman’s body and Marilyn Monroe’s body, I have no doubt which would be preferred by 99% of men.
