He is not captain material and he's clearly using you for your money. He hasn't stepped up, he hasn't shown any ability or willingness to lead or provide. Would you ever want to have children with him? There is no leadership. You are having to come up with all the solutions and he's not prioritizing you as his partner. While he's with his family, maybe sit down and figure out what kind of future and partner you want, and if he is ever capable of fulfilling that. It sounds like he'd just using yo…

I had my kids young and honestly, its really worked out well. I had the energy I don't anymore, I was much more flexible because I hadn't really established myself yet. I am really glad I had my kids young. If you want to argue them point out all the advantages to having children early in marriage and life. Better health outcomes for the baby, you've got much more energy to deal with babies and toddlers, you'll be around much longer and be much more useful when your kids get older, you'll be jus…

You need to have a conversation about ypur future with him. To figure out what his intentions are, not just what you're hearing second hand. The person may be misunderstanding and then passing on bad info. Talk to him about what you want, where you see ypur relationship in 5 years, what having children would do to your relationship and your career. I can see, if he thinks you're going to want to be a stay at home mom, that he would be planning on getting a home that he can support just on his in…

Ok, watching the video, that couple is super cute (the ones watching the domestic disciplinevideo and commenting) , and the woman has a good point in that more feminine women want to be taken care of and want to find a captain. The whole concept of a Captain is that they are more dominant. The book, "spank your spouse, avoid divorce" sounds amusing and I kinda want to read it. Lol

Honestly I think the domestic discipline folks are people who are kinky, but don't want to admit it and don't like the kink scene folks. Which is fine, if you want to be Christian and kinky, awesome, go for it. That being said, I dont know anyone who practices, and my understanding of it is just off of things I've read on the internet, so I could be totally wrong.

Yeah, it can be overwhelming for them to come home to onslaught of baby who is fighting sleep and wife who has had no adult conversation and is also tired. You could adjust the bedtime to a bit earlier, or later and adjust nap-time to a bit later. It takes about a week to two weeks depending on how flexible with times your baby is. When mine were babies, I'd adjust about 5-10 minutes a day, to get to times that worked better with our schedules for nap time. It helps to literally run them before …

Take time before he comes home, to chill a bit. It'll make it easier when he gets home on both of you and he won't be walking into a ball of stress. Make sure that you have social engagements outside of your husband that you can vent to. Your husband cannot be your only outlet, its not fair to him. Make a routine when he gets home. Give him a kiss, then send him to go relax, change, and decompress for 10-20 minutes before talking to him. This gives him time to get in and get acclimated, not have…

Honestly, being a nurse would be a wonderful skill set for a SAHM. I wish i had that skill set, it would save so many clinic visits. I think that's a fantastic career to have before kids. I would stay on the nursing path, not only will it help with children, but you also have a fall back career if need be. If hes so interested in the family business, maybe he should be involved in it, it may give him a good outlet and give you time to go through school. I totally understand being done with the m…

She's already leaving, there's no need for a recommendation to fix it. It's more of a post-mortem of things that she needed in a relationship. Captains need to be able to accept alternate perspectives and discuss them in a productive manner. Past that, are you sure your ex is pregnant? or is it a ploy to keep you? also, if she is, find out how far along she is and see if you can recall when was the last time you guys slept together. Don't let her trap you unnecessarily. A lot of women use the "I…

Good on you for taking care of yourself. I'm sorry, and I know it's hard. Your future spouse and kids will thank you.

So I didn't have the best childhood, what helped me was realizing that I have the choice to either let it define me, or let it be my backstory that no longer defines me. I made the choice to become who I want to be. (I'm still working on parts, but growth is infinite and we always have things to learn and improve upon, that's part of the fun. ) so get over yourself and believing that your trauma is keeping you from things. You are keeping you from being the person you want to be. Which is actual…

"I wouldn't be very good at giving advice if I lived the picture perfect life no flaws! How can anyone relate to someone like that?" People learn more from making mistakes and can identify where the mistakes were made to help other people from making them. It sucks to make the mistakes, but people can learn and grow from them. Reading TRP women, it seems that there is a lot of encouragement for bettering yourself to find a mate and to create and maintain a successful relationship. It's the same …

Joining in because I love this idea! Goal 1- lose 10 lbs this month. I've been hitting the gym hard, and watching my eating. I am going to continue it. (10 lbs is not unrealistic, I have a lot of weight to loose.) Goal 2- get the children a successful start in school (they are excited about it, and excited about starting a new year, so the groundwork is laid down, but their workload is going to be much more this year, so I have some positive reinforcement's set up for successful completion of ho…

I try to relate the Captain/First Mate concept to people in terms of a teams of groups that people can relate to in their business or school settings. In a group, you all bring different strengths and ideas to the table, but without a clear leader or project manager, the team has no direction, and will have no productivity. The engineer's ideas and input is just as important as the accountant's but they bring different perspectives and priorities to the table with an overarching goal to make the…
