Your approach to your kids seems cold, or robotic. It's great you are naming that your past way of always shutting them down, and your yelling when you lose your shit is wrong, but you should reflect on how you show your kids that they mean something to you. What do you like about them? How can they experience you as a dad who enjoys being with them? Create space for them to be themselves with you, and give them time to start trusting that they won't get shit on for it. Your son left some gear a…

You will have better luck with AskMRP. Ask why you need to check out when home. If your leadership was creating the home and family experience you really want, would you need to check out?

Your advice is correct, but from where he is now, he can't help but use it as another tool in the Rambo playbook. He should focus on building sources of satisfaction, joy, and meaning in his life in substantial things that don't involve his wife. He can't do this if he's watching to see how effective his withholding of attention is with her. I know you said as much... This is more for OP.

Is that a justification or a confession?

I second Giff Lasta. His book "The Way of Men with Maids" is great.

I just finished the book! You have created a great text for sharing with young men, and I will be gifting this to my son and nephews! Virility, applied to all aspects of life is a great theme I've not seen articulated elsewhere as well as you have. I'll write you a good review on Amazon to help it sell, and it should really be on the sidebar here.

The sidebar is full of helpful texts for you. Biblical Masculinity The Way of Men with Maids Are also good if they haven't been added yet.

How do you read what he wrote and 'sense' he's going philosophical? I 'sense' your struggles existentially have you paralyzed from experiencing life through immanence. Do stuff to find out if it matters to you, and if not, do something else, rinse and repeat.

Your biggest mistake was explaining your day game, relieving any anxiety/excitement/anticipation that you might take the public touching too far. You've now assured her that you are a nice safe beta hubby and taken the fun out of it. Look up the post on "How do you like my dissected boobs?". You should have rather STFU, or AA with, "you are just mad I haven't whipped it out yet in front of everyone and given it to you hard and heavy". Don't talk about fight club!

Amid all the victim puke, you have some useful insight here about embracing the suffering required to achieve something satisfying day in and day out. You are all over the place in your last paragraph, saying providing for your family feels so good, but also get nothing in return, and that stopping doing that will suck, and being your own man will suck. Which is it? Validate for yourself what brings meaning and is worth doing for its own sake... Whether anyone notices or is grateful is merely ic…

Thanks for writing. These are the kinds of books the church needs to be producing, and that I'd like to be able to hand out to young men.

What do you expect us to respond to if you don't say what is frustrating you right now, or what you are working to change? What shit have you owned with this entry? You go out of your way to say you have no ego, but I think thou dost protest too much.

It sounds like you are struggling in those moments to accept that he has a different opinion, priority, conviction, or preference on whatever the subject is, so you labor to bring him to your point of view, or to validate your point of view. Best to validate your own perspective for yourself, express it freely without needing a certain outcome to know your perspective is valid, and accept that his is different. This is called good differentiation. The book Passionate Marriage by Dr. David Schnar…

Your post is beautifully written, congrats! Your description of your body's response points to the realities detailed in the brilliant book, The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Van Der Kolk. He details through copious research how trauma becomes lodged in our bodies, and ways to reprocess the memories beyond talk therapy. Things like EMDR, yoga, etc. I sincerely hope and pray you find healing and freedom from past hurts to allow you to enjoy the marriage and family you are going to build. Invest…

First of all, bravo for the thoughtful essay. You have put some really good words to the issues of desire, delineating helpfully into categories that we should think more clearly in. You are sure to get a wide range of feedback. There is not much in life that feels better than falling in love if it is reciprocated, and not much worse when it is not. The blue pill guy falls in love too easily and becomes unattractive. The super red pilled guy follows his testosterone and takes the sex without wor…

Agreed! But still left with the question, is it true? If OP can convince himself that it's not, he can go live however he wants in this life and hope he's right. If he can't, he can recalibrate. Pascal's Wager?

The only starting point for faith is whether it is true or not. If there is a creator, and he revealed himself to us and called us to follow, then I'm a fool if I don't.

That's not a shitty comfort test. She named what you wouldn't, requiring her to be the strong one. You are a mess, so stick with the basics of lift, sidebar, and stfu. You hamster about where your desire has gone after guilting her into duty sex she didn't want. Hard to feel validated when she complies. Be attractive. Don't be unattractive. Gaslighting while being unattractive isn't gaming, it's annoying. Anger stage is a bitch. There are probably a dozen good posts on that which will help you w…

Why "lmao"? I'd be so pissed off if I had a thyroid problem all this time with the effort you've put in to lose the weight. How does this not get caught earlier? Why are you laughing instead of firing your current health care providers?

Sadly, you have a scarcity mindset with regard to feeling loved. Whether by others or by yourself, you write as though finding that experience will be the one thing that makes you okay, or even happy. It makes you vulnerable to some chick loving you and you going all in without really considering whether she is someone you want to be with. Let's say you figure out how to love yourself... What then? Something to be grieved here for sure, but when you finally lay this idol down and walk away from …

Make sure you read Horns post thoroughly (it is one of the best). "Cuddles ain't free" isn't a phrase that comes out of your mouth unless you are already near end game, and then, it would hardly be needed.

It sounds like the start of a shitty comfort test. Are you enjoying seeing her hamster run? Or do you just not know how she can add value to your life? Do you like her? Maybe beware the anger phase. You should read the post from Jack 10 of hearts or horns of apathy about when to show your wife out of the hamster maze. Someone once said, the feminine grows with praise.

Her shit tests are so overt and obvious, it's good that you don't take the obvious bait. If she develops a talent for more subtle tests, she mixes it with comfort or shitty comfort tests, you will be more challenged. I'd report in your OYS your experience of these tests when you struggled or need feedback. The play by play of obvious successes smells like validation seeking. How are these experiences impacting you?

Most the commenters are reacting to how awful it would feel to actually communicate to a woman the reason you are rejecting them, and the perceived impact on her personally. OP is making a similar point as Dalrock did in a post on "slut shaming", where he points out that as uncomfortable as it is, it's what works at a sociatal level. But on a personal level, I can't imagine many Christian men doing this, red pilled or not. So the longer game of this returning to being common wisdom has to come f…

Some good advice here, but cringing at the suggested back and forth on the hard no response. Stick to STFU, lifting, and reading. You aren't attractive enough to pull any of that off and don't have the frame for it. Powerlifting IS for strength. If you want to grow muscle, do a hypertrophy program with lots of volume.

It might make you feel better to be overt in your communication, but it communicates that your are insecure, anxious, or maybe desperate, rather than confident, and a man who has options. Read Aaron Renn's International Man of Mystery entry from his newsletter archive.

Give yourself permission to grope your woman whenever you want to. Enjoy what the gods put here for fun. This is bad advice unless you are so attractive that her response is that she is thrilled such a catch as you wants to grope her... If that's not OP, he should move along.

/r/MarriedRedPill31/10/23 09:16 PM

In the context of Marriage, especially for Christians, there is no trick. Genuine desire comes for that which is truly attractive, which is a man who has his life in order, has options, and orients himself to a larger purpose or adventure than himself or being attractive to any woman, especially her. The keeping her ignorant part is just highlighting that it is unattractive when she can see you are being a dancing monkey. It is also highlighting that women like to figure their men out with their…

You are angry because white knighting your older brother and your dad isn't working? You see the RP truth playing out in your family, and you now see the matrix, but they don't want to unplug. STFU isn't just for your wife. If you live well, they will ask for help when they see you as a man sturdy enough to help them... Or they won't. Read anger phase posts and try to apply the principals broadly.

While you are on your rule 9 ban, realize that your are at the early stages of this process. You may be changing too much too fast if your wife is already freaking out. Rambo danger here is real. Slow roll your changes a bit and STFU, but with some comfort to give you time to unplug and make your changes about you.

I know you're battling heavily what's going on in your head, and that saps your energy, but notice your total lack of direction on what you want to be doing with your gifts, namely, your time. You don't trust that if you commit to doing things you enjoy, and invite your family along, that they will be blessed by your leadership, and grateful. Your section on figuring out your life path is devoid of any such thing. Try more grinding here.

I have this sense that an opportunity is coming for exercising your STFU muscles. The good week you had could set you up for struggling in this opportunity. Will the good week leave you with an abundance mentality to STFU like a boss, or a blind spot of being angry that the good times didn't keep rolling?
/r/MarriedRedPill23/10/21 01:36 PM

Good first OYS. Are you wanting to initiate 2-3 times per week because you know you'll want her that often or is this some kind of scorecard? Why not say rather, initiate when I desire to have sex with her? Your STFU example was interesting. At first it seemed like you were going autistic with silence, then your fogging response was a little passive aggressive. Why does her wanting to paint the fucking door require an STFU response? In the past would you need to respond with your feelings about …

Glad you're here. This was a good first OYS. Remember to go really slow in this early stage with changes. It's not fair to your wife to send her head spinning off in fear of what is happening with you while you are so early in the process of figuring it out. You will end up going overt before you are ready, and sometimes it will work out okay, like in your OYS #2. Other times you'll slip back into negotiating desire and vocalizing anger phase truths you want her to fix so that you won't have to …

Like you said, you are new at this. Focus on improving in some of the basics before deciding you are ready to set a boundary that blows up your marriage. My Rambo meter is going off when someone new is taking off serving papers to a wife who has no reason to believe you'll follow through on anything. Lift, sidebar, and STFU...rinse, repeat.

You lost your shit dropping the nuke threatening to file, then decide to STFU when she comes back trying to figure out if her life with you is over. Good job owning your failures, but your Ramboing is from the blue pill side of things when you can't control your feefees. Did you even apologize for being a bitch? Your social needs are huge because of you can't keep your pie hole shut during this early phase of OYS, it needs to be with a dude. If you really want this to work, own your failure with…

Just an observation from the way your words hit me. Such a strong boundary around insisting that your family shows gratitude stuck me as really close to validation seeking. Do you want them to show gratitude for their own sakes so they don't become entitled, or for yours? If the latter, why do you give so many fucks?
