It's mind boggling how people manage to utter "The future is female!" and "Equality for everyone!" in one video without realizing the underlying discrepancy.

That would make this subreddit less shitty than feminist subreddits. But still shitty.

I think there might be some kind of misunderstanding here. I know what a troll is, and I know what you mean with "concern troll". I am asking you why you think he is a troll? Stating that there are often trolls here is not an argument regarding his post. Edit: To make it clear: I don't think "because he is" is an answer. Any post could be a troll post. Yours and mine included. But if I would accuse you of trolling, would you not want to have a more elaborate explanation than "/u/bufedad is a tro…

Why are you sure that he is a troll? Honest question. Is it not possible that he just have a different opinion? I can say that I also don't think that this joke is related to mens rights. Does that make me a troll?

Apparently, not many are realizing the unsettling similarities to feminist forums/subreddits, where people with a different approach at things or different opinion are called misogynistic, derailing or "concern trolls" and are downvoted to oblivion. The very same thing is happening here. That's a sad thing, I think.

I would still do that if she lived there, but I'll be damned if I give him more money then he's barely given me. That means that your principle is: "I will never give the person who cares for my daughter more than this person gave me while I cared for her." Is that correct?

A common narrative is that F-on-M DV is only minor and that severe domestic violence (like setting your spouse ablaze) is something that only men do to women. Maybe you mean the common narrative that women are thought to be statistically not as violent as men? Because believing that women are literally unable to commit such a violent crime would be kinda extreme, and I have to say that I have never met anyone who would actually think that way.

What has this to do with Mens Rights? All I see is shitty people making shitty jokes. The worst case scenario here is that he doesn't like the joke (understandable). What else could happen?

I don't get what this part of the discussion is about. It seems like everyone agrees that the article is shitty. Still there seems to be some kind of disagreement I don't even know anymore what it is about. What I say is: The article is shitty. That it uses GIFs of people overreacting is not making it better. And the fact the GIF come from a show that is quite like the article itself (and is shitty) only adds to the point. If you think that such shows are good - well, then we just have different…
/r/MensRights28/01/17 08:25 PM

Ah, I understand. I just think the original post, the article and the TV show from where the GIFs are a shitty and fake.
/r/MensRights28/01/17 06:01 PM

I very well understand this. I'm just of the opinion that this is a shitty article with shitty gifs about a shitty trash TV style topic. Quora is a website where anyone can ask any question, and anyone can answer anything. The whole content comes from the users - so in what way would the website itself be reputable?
/r/MensRights28/01/17 05:52 PM

Of course there are always some parts that are real. But they also add something "spicy" to most things and exaggerate wherever possible. For me, that's not a show to be taken seriously. It's in part fake, which makes it impossible to watch for me - because I have to question everything I see there. I have better things to do. For example: Watch things that don't try to lie to me.
/r/MensRights28/01/17 05:31 PM

Yes, I know that this show exists. Do you think the things you see in this show are real as well?
/r/MensRights28/01/17 04:26 PM

I absolutely agree. There is a valid point to that story. But I don't see it discussed in this thread. And don't you agree that it would make more sense to talk about things that actually happened? Let's be blunt about this: Making things up and feeling oppressed because of them is just a shitty thing to do. That's what some people do and nothing good came of it.
/r/MensRights28/01/17 03:50 PM
1

"Not nice"? Are you kidding me? I hoped it would be clear that I meant this part sarcastic. As a man, there is nothing you can do in that situation. You still have to pay for the kids, you probably lose half your wealth to a lying deceiving woman if you chose to leave her. Which is the only option for every man who has a bit of selfrespect. You're helpless. You could call that oppression yes. That is a very good and valid point to be discussed in this subreddit. But I have looked at this thread …
/r/MensRights28/01/17 03:48 PM

Man, I'm really sad that this subreddit has come to this. This is the most fake and shitty ...... "article" that I have seen here. This "article" was "written" (all of its 5 sentences) to provoke extreme emotion, just like shitty and fake TV shows (as seen in the GIFs in the "article"). Even if everything in this "article" is not fake: What has this "article" to do with mens rights? Does that mean that every time a female is not nice to a male - ..... "Men are oppressed"?
/r/MensRights28/01/17 12:07 PM
36

Yes, all 4 sentences of this "article" was written by a 4 year old. The rest of the "article" is made of internet comments and GIFs. I think they target the 6 years olds.

I think there is some kind of logical problem within your plan.
/r/MensRights28/01/17 11:57 AM

I am absolutely for better laws regarding this. But I don't think males should be able to decide for the female if she has to carry out the pregnancy and give birth to a child she doesn't want. I know of some cases where exactly that happened, and that is really cool and awesome of the female. But it shouldn't be forced by law. It really is the body of the female, after all. (It's just like it is. Nobody chose how pregnancy works.)

I think such people know what they are doing, they just lack conscience. It also helps if your peers will applaud you behavior. The phrase "Men deserve this!" is sadly more common than one might think.

That's a thing I have learned in my life. More often than not, my gut feeling was right - no matter how much the other person tried to make me feel bad about it (and succeeded most of the times until now).

There was a time, not long ago, where there were more people than today who did what had to be done. But I have to agree with you, today many jobs are "shitty" and most wouldn't want to do them. But we are here, because many people did what had to be done. Capitalism wasn't the driving factor for the most part of humanity. Sadly, it is now.

Too bad you don't see any necessity to stand up for your fellow men. I think this applies to Steve Martin. He was not forced to delete his post, but he did it anyway. He should have stand up and not delete his post.
/r/MensRights30/12/16 04:31 PM

You are still free to do what you want to do. You can delete your post if you don't want to face the consequences. But you are free to stand by your opinion and make use of free speech. May I ask why you would consider the consequences "severe"? In what way would it have been severe for Steve Martin?

I think it's pretty much describable. It's just pop stars being pop stars. The marketing teams does whatever stirs the most attention. (And of course it's not cool that some feminists would be upset if the gender was switched.)

How is this a matter of Mens Rights? She was found guilty, yet her family believes she did nothing wrong. I don't see any noteworthy social problem here. Isn't it well known and kind of comprehensible that the family and especially parents don't want to see their child in such a bad way? Some are able to take a realistic look at what happens, and some will always believe their children are innocent victims. But that is the case with nearly anything bad that can happen. I don't see the relevance …

How, if at all, she informed the man she changed her mind is left ambiguous for a reason. I can't really put a finger on what you try to get across. /r/MensRights01/10/16 12:27 PM

This is brilliant. The list of things of learned helplessness for men in society is rather long. I'd say just as long as for women. We have a long way to go. Let's go together.

There should be better video material for this cause than shitty reality TV shows.
/r/MensRights29/09/16 05:46 PM

And yeah, things have changed. Women have always been below men in a societal sense, but even in Roman or Medieval times it was never a question whether the men would go to fight and die: the women were too important for the species So, in a way, women had a lower stand in society for certain things, but a higher standing regarding other things. I think there is no clear (or mathematical) way to classify women/men into higher/lower standing. It depends.

/r/MensRights24/09/16 07:25 PM

Maybe? People learn how to react and behave from their surroundings. If you have a favorite group and maybe some "heroes", you maybe get to imitate in small ways. It is not unusual, I would say. And it helps to detect a certain kind of people if you know it.

I bet some feminists will find a way to explain what it means, and that it is very important to understand the subtle issues that come with it. And just a few years later, other feminists will take these things as literal. At least that's how it must happen with all those other phrases that don't mean a fucking actual thing.

I don't particularly like the title. It sounds like it would be always the case, regardless of anything. I don't think that is how it should work. It always depends. To add to that, the legal status is quite different in many countries. What is perceived as a disgusting crime in one country, is viewed as normal and healthy in other countries. The bottom line for me is: Not every encounter between people of legal age and non-legal age is wrong, abusive or a crime. It depends on the circumstances …

All of her art projects circle very near around the incident, including a video of her having sex, while the time stamp of the video shows the date of the alleged rape. Women should never be trusted over male security when honest men's reputations are at risk. What does this phrase actually mean? If the reputation of an honest man is at risk, the woman telling otherwise should never be trusted? To me, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Maybe I am not understanding you right. I'm trying to rephrase it. The responsibility now and the responsibility of the past don't exist and never existed from the point on, where a child gets adult. That doesn't sound right to me.
/r/MensRights12/06/16 10:29 AM

It can't find info on any of this. Who paid for the child? Both, just he or just her?

One thing notable is that they had a child together, which was rised by her only. I don't know for sure if he never paid for the child, I can't find info about that. If he didn't, then there is something to this case that is correct. If she tried to just get a slice for her own - that would of course be shitty.

Media has an impact on humans. Book, movies, series, music... most of them make some kind of statement. Of course in parts the statement is constructed using fantasy and fiction - but it is intended to be read and understood by people living in the real world. The example she gave could be constructed just fine without magic and monsters. She just took an example that is common in it's mechanism and from a book that is well known.

I must say that I don't particularly like this tale. The man is so good at heart and the woman is so greedy and angry - it's just black and white. I heard some very similar stories - but from the other "side". People can convert this story easily to portray how bad men would be. I once got told a tale like this, but about men - told directly to me by a woman, because she liked the tale so much. It just felt shitty to listen to it. I suppose women would feel the same listening to this tale. Don't…
/r/MensRights12/05/16 10:30 AM

I also thought that. It's just a tool to deliver the message "women are greedy". There are many "tales" of men and how bad they are, and they are just as useless.

I think there is actually some truth in it. "This will be the best day of my life" is a very common conception of the wedding day for women. And I think there are some women who take this saying way to literal. This may play a bigger role in decision making than I thought.

You're right, the reader is the one who should make sure to actually understand what's going on. But it doesn't hurt to try to make it as easy as possible. The scale and the arrow are doing nothing to prevent misreading the chart. You can see it in the comments here. Many people ask why it went "downhill so fast".

I didn't meant you with "going nuts". :) I meant the general public, and feminists in particular. If I understand you right, you don't agree with the current definition of "sexual assault". Just as I do. And my personal opinion is that what we see in this picture should not be count as "sexual assault". I perfectly know that - right now - it would. But it shouldn't. Neither for men nor women.
/r/MensRights03/03/16 08:55 PM

I would say grabbing someone's ass without their consent is sexual assault. I would say there has to be a certain context. It is a mixture of environment - where and when it happens. Who is doing it? Why is one doing it? What's the intention? If touching/slapping somebodies ass without asking them before is "sexual assault", regardless of the circumstances... well, then I sexually assaulted quite a lot of people in my life. Sorry, not my native language. The situation is, that women can be offended by jokes, but men shouldn't. I don't think the solution is that anybody should have the right to be offended and take actions against the offender. I think the solution would be that anybody should not take actions against a "offender" just because a joke. Just because some women would think it's not OK to make jokes about a female vegetable-genital, does not mean men shouldn't giggle about such a joke.
/r/MensRights22/02/16 12:10 PM

You are right. Everyone is free to feel offended by anything. It just shouldn't lead to the restriction of free speech. I actually meant it in the same way. Sometimes it's hard to get those things right when English is not your mother tongue.

I don't want that men and women can be offended for the same things. I rather want that nobody is genuinely offended by jokes. Starting shit storms because others are starting them just brings more shit into the world.

I know how you feel. There is nothing wrong with a joke, regardless how dark or disgusting it may seem to some people. The fact that you can't switch the gender and get away with it leaves a sour taste. What to do about it? It seems there are 2 directions society can take. a) Everyone should have the right to be genuinely offended by jokes and demand the suspension of such jokes. b) No one should be genuinely offended by jokes and demand censorship of humor. EDIT: "genuinely offended" is maybe b…

It actually saddens me that society shapes people in a way that this person is the outcome. Or is this rather a serious mental disorder? But that would not explain the other two. Man. Sometimes I can't believe it.

Because everyone is completely clueless about how to "react properly". This is not a scene where everyone immediately knows how to react. A scene like this was not a thousand times seen in movies or reality TV. Oh shit! A man touches a woman! This is wrong! But wait... she really was a piece of shit. This is a conflict. I'm confused. What are the others doing? I shouldn't do anything.

It's so easy: Here is where it's all going wrong right at the beginning: I want to find out why a new generation of men thinks the real victims of sex discrimination are guys. This makes it sound like there can be only one "real" victim at any time: Men or women. That is such a mind-boggling idea. How could anyone come up with this? It is disgusting how language can be abused to sneak this bizarre statement into the minds of people. I want to find out why a new generation of men thinks guys are …

As others has pointed out, it is really great to have a dad like this. But I'm going to add something. I have a dad that gave me everything he longed for in his childhood. But there is a caveat, if you take this (really good) advice too literal. I don't want to give my children exactly and only what I longed for, but rather what they need and what they want. Every person is different, and every generation even more so. My dad gave me everything he longed for - food, expensive things and money. M…

Almost all women I know are saying this. That they are wearing it for them selves. Because they enjoy them selves and that they would wear makeup if they would be the last person on earth. There are things being done day by day by humans who wont openly tell anyone the real reason, because most don't want to hear/realize it. This is the case for many things. Everyone is doing it. So, of course makeup wearers are doing it also. Almost all makeup wearers are not doing it strictly only for them sel…

As long as those videos stay so short, there is really not much what you can say about it. Anything could have happen Cop is getting rough to pupil Anything could happen afterwards Without context - this is just the part in the middle. You cannot judge any few seconds of a slice of live properly.

Men are advantaged over women. No questions. No one can debate that. This is outright scary. I hope this mentality will not prevail.

This is comedy, right? .....right? It's not? Ok. That post is full of short sighted bar-room clichés. She even tries to generate some sort of "insight" building on those clichés.

This doesn't really tackle their algorithms. They will know after a really short time that both accounts belong to the same person. There are computational methods on how to estimate this rather fast.

The paparazzi get their payment directly from the companies. But the companies get their money from "us". Whenever we consume such media, we indirectly pay for those photos. So we can vote with our wallets, or by stoping streams showing photos we don't think they're ok.

There are differences in how efficient bodies are using calories. I also had a friend like /u/5ponsky. He could eat what ever he wanted - peanut butter all day - but never gained any substantial weight. He gave up after a year of eating more than he could stand. There also was a girl in school that had to eat shitloads of food all day. If she would not, she would faint. She hated it. She ate a small meal 3 times before lunch. She had a special condition, where her body was very inefficiently bur…

Men assault, rape and kill women and their children because they think they have a right to. Really? How far away from reality do you have to get to think that?

Somehow kids today got told that a teacher does not have the right to make a little step over the line, even if all kids are literally dancing and screaming all over the line themselves. Why are kids told that teachers should not be assholes. I was told that no one should be an asshole.

Not to belittle the person: I think that sentence comes out way easier if you know no one will actually consider doing that. In a way, that sentence is a carefully worded version of "HIT ME!". ;)

If I saw something like this on the street my bullshit detector would go off like mad, someone in heavy distress without any fight or flight response? There is some truth in it. But would it be that way, if we never lived in a world where the common sense is "Woman can't fight men"? If you look at the experiment, you may come to the conclusion that both behaved quite similar. It is just that you don't expect that. That is what triggers the bullshit sensor. It seems irregular that a guy behaves l…

More recent police data suggests that the risks posed by dark German parking lots were exaggerated Not even exaggerated. They are non-existent. According to german police statistics, harassment or assaults on women are not any more frequent in parking spaces than elsewhere. Most crimes against women happen in known/safe places and are done by partner or ex-partners. nevertheless, women’s parking spaces are so deeply ingrained that few would dare to remove them. I have a feeling that movies and T…
