I would argue that one of my sales directors has a maven personality. He kind of thinks of being in field as a video game where the goal is to get sales from this sort of sims-characters (people). He is kind of a nerd but he is incredibly good. I've learned a lot from him.

Imprint these words in your mindset: NO EXCUSES. Underweight so you can't do face-to-face sales? Hah. What a lame excuse. Don't feel guilty. It's for you, not the employer. I started selling one kind of item at the time. It doesn't really matter what you sell as long as you somewhat believe in it. If you wouldn't buy what you're selling yourself, the customers will notice when you are new to sales and you'll have a hard time. I'll copyright/paste the same reply I gave earlier in the thread. By direct sales I mean when you sell 1 to 1 in person. What I started doing was stand sales, where I pitched them into my stand, and sold them the product right there. This also helps you become an expert in body language.

Very good point! I forgot to mention that I started with 100% commission with no sales experience. Same goes for the girl I wrote about. This forced me to learn fast and give it my all!

You should just approach and get rejected. The worst possible outcome when you approach a girl is that she says no. Same end result as not approaching, just that you will feel some sort of accomplishment for growing the balls to talk to her. Just do it.

I used to get girls from time to time in high school. At 18 I got a really good direct sales job, and after 3 months I realized that getting girls is just like selling. After that realization it’s actually really easy.
