Damn this was encouraging to read! Especially in the context of some of your previous OYS posts. Sounds to me like your character has grown despite being dealt some really tough circumstances. Keep it up! Glad to see you back in here.

This whole "drama" is cringe. A bunch of no-name lurkers who have never posted an OYS or otherwise participated in RPC are now all up in arms because "someone is saying something mean on the internet about RPC." If that's you it's time to STFU. Anyone who is getting triggered by the CM post has the frame of a wet paper bag and has failed to take ownership of the principles of this sub by independently checking them against Scripture. STFU. Lift. Read Bible. Read sidebar. Be a Berean. OYS.

First off, great opportunity to practice STFU here. Don't brigade. Don't go downvote all their stuff. Don't whine about people saying mean things about your favorite sub. Focus your efforts on those who are teachable. Second, if this quote: "Rule 1: You are not seeking to befriend, date, court, or even marry a woman. Those are simply the means to an end: sex." bothers you, you should read [this post] (https://old.reddit.com/r/RPChristians/comments/79updb/for_singles_getting_laid_like_a_christian…

spin plates as a Christian I tried this Praex, but it made me feel horrible. The whole spinning plates thing just seems dishonest. I wouldn't want to be treated like a plate, so how can I justify treating others this way?

Saw your update. Leaving the situation alone sounds like a good call. Since you're already here, why not take some of the rest of the advice and start improving in life areas you are deficient in? An easy place to start is going to the gym. No, it's not a panacea that will solve all of your problems, but it will give you an opportunity to practice and develop self discipline. It will also increase your confidence, boost your competence, and help you to build a positive feedback loop in your mind…

Like others have said, you're orbiting her, and you've got a classic case of oneitis. She should not be your mission. At best she is an accessory to help you accomplish the mission. I didn't come here just to repeat what everyone else is saying though. I came here to commend you on your humility. You're getting blasted pretty good in the comments, but you're listening sincerely and not getting butthurt. Keep it up. It shows you are teachable. Have been back in the gym for a few weeks now. Essentially starting from scratch ... found a BJJ gym nearby, and I have been attending once or twice a week. Way to make progress here. It is easier to gain muscle the second time around. You're not starting over; you are building on previous experiences. Sounds like you already know where you're deficient here (eating enough). I'm a skinny guy too, so I understand the challenges. 3am shift This stood out to me as the number one issue in your post.…

working full time at an engineering firm, quitting next month. Sounds like you're knocking it out of the park with the raise. Why quit? Chest press: 120 lbs. The more I think about it, the more I think you should reconsider this policy. Being raised with a No Dating Until Age 18 rule helped make me the celibate autist I am today. Perhaps it's easier for girls, but guys can't learn game in a vacuum.
/r/RPChristians08/04/21 01:28 AM

It's cool that she's trustworthy and disciplined, but insisting that a father or grandfather be present at every date is unreasonable to me. A guy wants to date the girl, not her dad. He wants to see how she behaves normally, not how she behaves when her every move is being monitored. I don't have a wife and kids, so I'll say if it works for you, more power to you. But I would consider the "dad must always be present" policy a dealbreaker.

I have met 2 of the mods in person. Rather than calling me a beta for my sucky lifts, they encouraged me for doing what I can. Folks around here get a bit autistic about the exhortation to lift, but the real reason it is recommended is because it builds character and makes you more attractive - qualities which boost your ability to disciple others. No one expects you to do exercises that damage you. That accomplishes the opposite. If there is no way to exercise without hurting yourself and no tr…

The point IS you will be better off if you do what you can to take care of your body. I'm not a doctor, but I also struggle with constant injuries. Exercise has helped me. I think Chuck's objective here is to eliminate the low-effort and spam posting that has started to become more frequent here. Plenty of people just drop hour-long videos with no context and a vague title, hoping to farm easy karma. Or they link to dodgy websites either for self-promotion or some other disingenuous reason. Is struggling with PMO an indication that one is unable to remain chaste? I'm sure you see the hangup. If a man is unable to conquer his sex drive his options are: Get married. You can't be transformed on your own, but you are still held responsible if you fail to be transformed. I get it; God can do what he wants with HIS creation. Romans 9:14-24 makes it clear. But, what use is any of it without the divine intervention required to become regenerate? If you read the post: "women as a physical gender are uniquely given the template for how spiritual reproduction ought to occur by virtue of the physical representation they express in human marriages." So women have the gift of being able to create and raise physical children which mirrors the Christian capacity to produce spiritual offspring. At no point were women called "machines" or said to be less valuable or less human.

Good answer. The problem is, if a guy has the spiritual maturity of an 8 year old, he probably has the discernment and self-awareness of an 8 year old as well. That's why I think there needs to be an semi-objective set of performance metrics. Plenty of failed "Christian" marriages start with the guy thinking he and his wife are the real deal, but discovering that isn't the case later on. It doesn't help that infatuation tends to put our monkey brains in the driver's seat.

Whenever God sends a girl Gimme a break. Vague advice like that does not adequately define a starting point. Good advice needs to be actionable. Objective performance metrics. It's not just an external behavioral change to cover over our perpetually internal evil state of being. It's that our internal state of being is in the process of becoming like Christ because we are one with him. I don't disagree with the fundamental concept you are laying out in this post, but I struggle to see how to apply it all the way through. Much of this is outside the human sphere of influence. we can't use our actions to change our identity My understanding of the Fall was that Adam and…

Your google drive is excellent. Where are you finding all the book PDFs? Most churches I'm familiar with have transitioned to livestreams and online meetups. It's not as good as being there in person, but it's a good stop gap. I'm using this opportunity as a way to reconnect with a small church in TX that I attended when I lived there. It's kinda nice to have the distance barrier removed for a time. My bible study has been online only for me since approximately last May. It's the only way my col…

It's a generalization, but that's the sexual marketplace today. Just like there's such a short supply of non-beta males, there is a short supply of morally upstanding females. Both sexes are broken. As I tried to describe in this comment, the sexual marketplace is unbalanced and broken in a way that encourages dominant, unrestrained hypergamy in females and pathetic beta submission in males. I think you and I would both agree that we'd see approximately the same behavior if the genders were flip…

I saw your reply to my comment, and am replying here because I think I can contribute to this discussion. I am not convinced women care about morality at all We're somewhat on the same page, but I think you're position is a bit too one-sided. This may start off sounding a little "knightly," but hear me out. HUMANS are immoral. Ever since the fall, we have had a sinful nature, and as a result, the natural impulses of men and women are taken to wicked extremes. Sexuality is good, but taken to an e…

The standards of single guys has become so outrageous as if every normal dude deserves a hot girl. I disagree. OkCupid did a study on this where women rated 80% of the guys as below average. Same study has guys rating girls closer to 50% below average, which is what you'd expect. Can you honestly say men have outrageous standards when there are guys exhausting their savings on donations to pallid, medicore-SMV "gamer" chicks and tripping over themselves to buy some girl's bathwater? Being able to alter something without physically interacting with it and without regard to distance are things that have long been reserved to God's domain, but I don't think that attaining these capabilities would elevate man to God's level. Ultimately, we would still only be able to alter existing matter that God created, which is something we've been able to do for a long time (welding, chemistry, machining, etc.). We would not be able to create matter from nothing, and we would still be subj…

Involuntarily. No vows, but a conviction to follow God's law. Low status probably keeps me in check also. Life is fine. Abstaining from PMO will always be a struggle, but it's manageable. I've learned to deal fairly well with being alone, and I know what I need to do to fix the problem. My mission is basically to climb out of inceldom and carry a few disciples up with me along the way. If you're upset about your own celibacy, find a goal to work towards. It'll make a difference.

Insults and sarcasm aside, I reckon I got an answer to the original question. You made this post to "hear people's saddest stories" and "share vulnerabilities." Relax bro, no reason to get defensive. It's common to check each other here. Iron sharpens iron. Being vulnerable for the sake of being vulnerable is feminine. If you're trying to learn from people's mistakes, that's a good reason. If you're trying to get help with a problem, that's a good reason. If you're here to commiserate, that's just a validation exchange.
/r/askRPC16/03/20 12:51 AM

More like you say, "my biggest regret is ____." And everybody responds, "That's rough buddy. We feel so sorry for you." Then you feel validated. But you can't be that blatant about it because then folks might call you out. So instead you phrase it as a question to lure others in. Or perhaps I'm off the mark. It's hard to interpret others' intentions online. Why make such a vague and open-ended post otherwise? What will you do with the information you receive?

I haven't experienced this in any of the churches I've attended thus far, and I've been fairly involved in most of them. Could this trend you're describing be a megachurch thing or a regional or denominational problem? I find it hard to believe I would have gotten lucky with church selection in 3 different states, three times in a row. Christians should talk like Christians. A habit of foul language will undermine your attempts to witness to those around you. Play a sport. You'll get fellowship with other people and exercise. Going to the gym is only self centered if you make it that way. Physical fitness does more than make you look attractive; it helps you think more clearly, enables you to do more with your body, boosts your charisma, and improves your mental state. These are all benefits that can be used to glorify the Lord. Our bodies are gifts from God. It is a good thing for us to strengthen and maintain them.

Sure, but it's been a while. Red is right; porn has been "used as a tool of condemnation over men by the church in their marriages." I'll also agree with his critique of the article he used. Our feminized society loves to point all the blame on men and try to dictate what we're attracted to. Like Red says, that doesn't make porn consumption okay. The Christian God is not the same god as Allah. The God of Christianity is a triune being who manifests himself in three ways: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Muslims reject the concept of the trinity. They also do not believe in the deity of Christ. These are important core principles that cannot be glossed over. This seems like an attempt to rationalize an obviously bad (and unbiblical) relationship. Don't reject or distort the truth over a woman. EDIT: You seem new to the faith, or perhaps you …

RunawayGrain's response is solid. I'll add that if you're in a technical major like engineering, you can land co-ops or internships that pay around $20/hour. The PCA/PCUSA split was a result of a hostile takeover by leftists who would meet secretly before the general assembly. Now there's an entire gr…

Mission: Living each day in Christ's frame, running the race in a way that inspires others to run as well. I've read your old monthly updates. I'm the same age as you, and I'll get caught in the thinking that I've missed my window for becoming a man. It's nice to see that 25 is not too late to turn things around. I'd add some points to that mission.

I think you mean PCUSA. PCUSA is the one that approved homosexuality and other degenerate practices. PCA did not. If there's something else going on let me know, but I don't think my denomination has been infected. EDIT: link for the uninformed There's a BIG difference between PCA and PCUSA.

The person was truly a Christian, but not a member of the elect. This is the view I, a non-cucked Presbyterian, hold. In my opinion, this view basically wipes out any assurance we could ever have. If election is the sole determinant of salvation, nothing else (fruit, feelings, self-improvement, etc) has any bearing on where we spend eternity. You could feasibly have someone who tries their utmost to do everything right and is still eternally damned because God never chose them in the first place…

Good feedback all around. To clarify, my intent behind this question was to confirm if there was a problem (which you did), not to learn to present a false better image of myself (which would defeat the purpose of OYS). your outlook is simply the way you expect life to be going forward. You clearly don’t see a positive future for yourself yet and it shows. Craft your life today in a way that makes you feel that tomorrow will be better. Solid and very helpful. A somewhat similar comment is what t…

You're cheating yourself out of noob gains by sticking with a beginner workout. I would transition to free weights ASAP, just start with the bar and work your way up. You're right. It's time. Time to write some verses down on paper and put them in your pocket so you have God's Word to meditate on when you're feeling empty. Thanks for the verse preceding this comment too. I wrote them down a few weeks ago. Now, I'll be carrying them with me. Can a real Christian fall into sin? Yes, but here’s the…

I'm a lot like you in some respects. I'm not actively looking for a wife until I get my own life sorted out. It's better to go ahead and fix yourself when your single, instead of having to fix yourself AND a marriage later on. That being said, I wouldn't isolate yourself. If you can, find some guys who have been in your situation and have achieved the goals you seek. You'll save yourself a lot of trial and error from listening to them, and you become like those you surround yourself with. Campus…

Lookism is a dark reality for those with lower tier genetics. It's easy to get sucked in and consumed by it. WE ABSOLUTELY SHOULD LIFT. But don't do it to gain approval from others. Do because your body is a temple that God has commanded you to take care of. Do it because it aids you on your mission.

Further disclosure, I’m a woman I'll rephrase then. I'm here to learn from people more spiritually mature than me. Your input is valued. The fruit of repentance is impossible for the Old Man to create. The New Man knows he’s (speaking of the person) a damned sinner apart from Christ and no amount of “sincerely” or “truly” will satisfy him because he knows he’s still a sinner who needs daily repentance. There’s no point this side of heaven where we don’t need to further repent. Well said. Questio…

Slavery is never voluntary. Nobody chooses to be a slave. We are slaves to sin because of our sinful nature. Perhaps that's not the best way for me to phrase it then. The gist is that our nature compels us to sin, and we like it that way. Apart from God, we willingly remain in that state. I still can't get behind the idea that man has any input in whether or not he is saved. I'll keep the question of "who is responsible for your salvation?" in my mind as I continue to read and pray. Right now my…

If you weren’t moved (by the Holy Spirit, of course) to repentance regarding doubt, then that would be an indication of no New Man It's a mixed bag on this issue. I don't doubt God's capacity to save sinners, or the potency of the Holy Spirit, or the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. I doubt my own inclusion in that salvation. I can talk a big game and cultivate an outward appearance of salvation, but I can't prove that I am saved to me or you because it is not me who determines my salvation. I…

First off, thanks for writing this. I've heard of Arminianism before, but never seen it in a 5 point format. The way you organized this makes it really easy for a Calvinist to understand. I'm reading some of these terms (like prevenient grace) for the first time. Eternal Security and Perseverance of the Saints sound like the same thing to me. The gist is "once saved, always saved." Calvinists will argue that those who "fall away" were never saved in the first place. I think Arminians who believe…

Thanks for clearing up my definition of a social script. Looks like I missed the mark there. In light of your comment I will correct the example I made in my previous comment. The guy who rearranges his life around getting validation (sexual or otherwise) from women and bases his identity in that lives in the feminine frame. I've definitely spent some time here. The guy who rearranges his life around maximizing his sexual success, lives in his own frame because he is following his own goal and d…

If I'm understanding correctly, the principles that govern attraction are the script, and how we orient ourselves around those principles is the narrative. Thus, one who rearranges his life around the primary mission of getting women to sleep with him, IS living in the feminine frame, just like some MGTOWs say. An equivalent person, who redefines himself around a Christ-centered mission, pursues a identity truly independent of feminine ideals. The difference is in what drives these men forward, …

It's a means of narrative control that has been fully realized by the media. Look at how they use the words "misogynist" and "racist." Applying these labels to people, things, and ideas enables them to wield immense social pressure to whatever end they please. Don't be fooled. For example, if you think the way we "treat" people with gender dysphoria is the modern day lobotomy, you're not "hateful" or "transphobic." You may even care more about their well being than their supposed "allies" do. Th…

I spent an hour talking with some friends about this post yesterday. I'm glad you posted this today because it is a great follow-up. My understanding of your post is that the definition of fruit is not restricted to just converting nonbelievers; discipling other Christians counts as bearing fruit too. Going off this definition, acts of service and encouraging others in the faith would also be ways to bear fruit, right? Is making a least one new convert in your lifetime an absolute necessity, or …

I'm kinda where you're at. My anxiety over marriage is a faith issue. Here's the conclusion I've drawn in my own (unmarried) struggle. God never promises his followers happy marriages or moral wives. Marriage (especially today) is so full of risk and uncertainty, it takes an act of faith to truly make that commitment. Trials at some stage are almost guaranteed. However, God doesn't hang you out to dry. In fact, he promises work all things for the good of those who are called according to his pur…

How are you (or the Bible) defining effeminacy? Does effeminate mean passive and soft spoken? Does effeminacy refer to transgenderism and the like? Does it mean homosexual? The ESV translates "nor effeminate" as "nor men who practice homosexuality." The NIV translates it as "nor men who have sex with men." I've heard plenty of Christians say homosexuality is a sin, but never being effeminate. I'd like to know where the line is.

I see /u/OsmiumZulu already addressed genetic determinism in this post. That's really the key to this whole worldview, but there's more we can talk about. Even if an truecel (an incel with real genetic limitations) does decide to play with the cards he has been dealt, there's still the issue of a competitive sexual marketplace that's nearly impossible for low value guys to succeed in. While the hypothetical truecel is spending years improving his physique, women are free to choose from a huge su…

Cool post! Any hole RPC can poke in incel ideology is another way for truth to shine in and reach us bottom tier dudes. Would a post outlining and disproving the incel worldview (aka "The Blackpill") add value to the subreddit? I couldn't disprove, since I'm an incel, but I could make a somewhat concise post outlining the Blackpill, and let you guys go to town on it. Excellent post! I came here from the blackpilled end of the spectrum because I realized that my view on life and relationships did not match Christian truth I professed to believe. Folks like me don't need external fixes; we gave up on those a long time ago. We need Truth that we can use to change ourselves from the inside out. I look forward to seeing this strategy in action.

To summarize my understanding, abundance mentality and RP behavior come from: A God given mission Sanctification (a result of pursuing your mission) Long term results of self improvement So it's not that new guys have to fake it (by blindly following rules); it's that they have to change.

Young, single, and stagnant fellow here. I think one of the biggest sources of discouragement for unattractive RP initiates is the idea that attractive men thrive without following the rules, while unattractive folks have to grind and feign abundance for a modicum of attention. What we see contradicts the abundance mentality we try to develop. RP-rule-based (confident) behavior feels like a false self. So I have a question: What basis does a genetically limited unattractive male have for the abu…

I'm the least qualified commenter here, but perhaps I can offer a different perspective. I've been wrestling with your question a lot, and here is my rough conclusion. Sex and male/female relationships, like all worldly things, have been corrupted by the fall. Perhaps, in a sinless world husbands and wives could coexist without selfishness, psychological warfare, and sexual incompatibility. But, like it or not, all things have been broken by the fall including marriage. To completely change the …
