I don't know, generally for it to be libel it has to be provably false. In other words, he would have to prove that he never raped her. If evidence comes out in the trial that shows he could not possibly have done it, for example if he was in a different place at the time, they he could have standing to sue. But it sounds like that's not the case, unfortunately.

I'm not taking either side here as I don't have enough information to make an informed judgement, but I'd like to point out that orgasm happens in the brain and not the genitals. Nerve damage likely wouldn't be a factor in the strength of orgasm. It would possibly affect how long it takes to get there though.

In the UK, juries are only advisers, the judge ultimately has full power and can choose to disband or ignore the jury. That doesn't mean it wasn't a fucked up situation, it just means the judge was a moron rather than the system being retarded. The judge apparently got disbarred for corruption afterwards, so that's nice.
