Welp. Different strokes my guy. That’s just as toxic as the rhetoric I grew up with
/r/MensRights25/01/23 06:45 PM

Isn’t this the same rhetoric we offer men? Date crazy, crazy is fun. You’ll surely regret some of it, but probably not all of it. When you’re ready to settle down you’ll find the right one because you know how to identify the wrong one. This -same- toxic rhetoric is used for both young men and women, but it’s just fucking wrong. Find someone who makes you happy. Experiment if you want to, not because you can, but because it’s what you wanna do.

Yes, given our society as a whole is built around wealth you will see the bottom ten percent reflecting the same values of the top ten percent as they attempt to carve out their own piece of the cake. But that is the great lie, they never will, because the ruling class of patriarchs will refuse to share. The reason the circle you’re drawing is arbitrary is because of the ruling class who decided these rules hundreds of years ago, hell, pre-imperialism gateway era. It’s a problem so old some peop…

Patriarchy as it is defined refers to the boots of a few entitled rich fucks on the necks of the many. Women and men are included in that. We’re all being perpetually fucked up the ass my our capitalist overlords and we are all stuck holding the bill.
/r/MensRights24/01/23 09:30 PM

Men can suffer under patriarchal systems as patriarchy describes those with power being empowered over those without? Passed from father to son, of specifically, favored/first born son. If you don’t think that could negatively influence our society you should just take some time and look into some of the oldest businesses in the US, who owns them, who generates money from them, etc.

Wee bit of googling states conviction prevents this, however non convicted, here is a story showing it does happen? https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/voices/2019/06/19/abortion-laws-bans-rape-parental-rights-column/1432450001/ Based on the article it looks like there is a 2015 federal law incentivizing states to take away parental rights from rapists, this would apply to your article as well. ATM there are only 30 states involved in this.

Not sure I agree with what you’re saying precisely, but I think we’re both saying the same thing in reference to OP, that these things are still under dispute for good reason, whether it’s a need to change laws or raise awareness, gun advocacy groups/ safety grps are still necessary..
/r/MensRights17/01/23 10:59 PM

Except the goals aren’t specific, as people are using guns to kill each other and themselves both legally and illegally all over the country, and that’s why we have sweeping ordinances, and a perpetual need for activism ? Thusly, a problem has not yet been dealt with….

Men can rape adolescent girls and then demand to see their child if they decide to keep it. How do you not see that working both ways? You’re using fringe oddball cases to describe the “norm"
/r/MensRights17/01/23 08:15 PM
-1

Certainly believe it to be true, but I can’t help but assume Kansas 1990s abortion stance comes into play here. Obviously that kid shouldn’t have to pay his abuser any money. This seems more like a fringe story that is far from the “norm” nor is it ethically sound by todays standards.
/r/MensRights17/01/23 08:13 PM
-1

I like how in your world if you say “well I’m going to be a terrible father so I elect to not do it and sign over my rights to the child” you think a woman/judge is just going to say “too bad you gotta raise it anyway” This is just untrue. You may own money per month? But that’s not raising a kid.

And yet it is still the guys decision to wear one? I’m not even sure what you’re arguing anymore.

Yes but rich/famous/public figures have power over people. you can say no, but the pressure created by the power dynamic can easily lead to you saying yes when you want to say no. A better example of this is your boss coaxing you into sex. Accountability is the empowered doing the wrong thing and being held accountable.
/r/MensRights17/01/23 08:02 AM
-23

… how so? If men have greater access to contraceptives and can literally sign away ownership of their child then how do they have less ability to separate from parenthood when the other person literally squeezes a baby out of their hole?
/r/MensRights17/01/23 07:59 AM
-33

Though government programs also support single fathers and abortion is currently being challenged back down to the state level, and condoms are literally given away for free in many colleges and clinics where women need to pay for birth control.

Are u at all interested in trying to create conversation where we acknowledge that famous people have power over others due to their wealth and status, and these tools may assist them into coercing others? See how this applies to both men and women?
/r/MensRights16/01/23 09:33 AM
1

A person who pesters someone into having sex with them out of guilt or some such other cornering. Coercive behavior from a famous person. George Bush trying to convince you to to bang is coercion. Popular figures in our society must be aware that they have power over others.

Smoking, guns, civil rights, christian mythology, and breast cancer are still concerns today. We have not “solved” civil rights. We have not solved smoking and breast cancer, though you could probably rope them both into a need for free healthcare and resolve them that way. Guns are still being used in school shootings. Once they become stabbings I’ll happily back you on that. However atm none of the gun laws seem to be doing much, except as acting as a micro deterrent.

I’m not saying burn all the money lmfao I’m stating under socialism, a fundamentally more-ethical system, money is not preventing you from existing in the social hierarchy. You still work, you still have a wage, you simply don’t need to compete with people on Yachts. Your lack of care about this subject is why you’re missing the point. -you- stated girls want rich boyfriends cuz hypergamy. This solves that. I’m a leftist providing you with a solution.
/r/MensRights11/01/23 12:56 AM
1

Buddy, I’m stating capitalism does not work as an ethical system, because of human nature, because of the things you’re expressing. If you remove money from the equation, and put everyone into an equal opportunity labor box, hypergamy still exists, but you (and everyone else) will be able to compete at the same level. Men, and women. The competition for scarce resources and imperialist drive to take resources for yourself for profit -causes- greater gaps in wages, -causes- unhealthy competition.…

Free healthcare for men!
/r/MensRights11/01/23 12:10 AM

I think you either didn’t read what I said, or just didn’t understand it; Women are capable of doing just what you said, so are men. Men will continue to pick out the best they can while women do the same. That’s less generic difference and just -human nature- . Under capitalism, this will never end. Ending wage slavery is the only method to accomplish what you want. Money causing girls to pick Rich fucks? Get rid of all the rich fucks. Problem solved.
/r/MensRights11/01/23 12:04 AM
1

Hypergamy will exist no matter what; it exists for both men and women, it’s no more biological than wanting a better life is biological. Patriarchal societies, demand for earning more money -no matter what- are the causes of inequality and suffering in our world. Wanna get rid that stuff, society needs to confront a very mean group of rich people at the top maintaining the status quo.
/r/MensRights10/01/23 08:45 PM
1

Well that’s not entirely true, if you remove the various constructs put in place by capitalism, most groups would flourish. But good luck removing that hurdle.

He won the lawsuit, I’m not sure what y’all are complaining about? Groups an say whatever they like, he, a drunk abusive asshole, won the lawsuit. Like this isn’t an exaggeration, these are things he admitted to doing in the trial. Amber heard is a terrible human being, so is Depp, these are two people with way too much money and Free time being horrible people to one another. It’s gross.

I mean it’s absolutely reasonable to make someone pay child support that doesn’t want involvement of a child. Don’t want kids? Wrap your shit. Condom breaks? Don’t fuck people who aren’t on birth control. Don’t know if they’re on birth control? You probably don’t know if they’re clean either, so you probably shouldn’t fuck them yet. Lied to and manipulated by SO? Maybe don’t drive with blinders on.

I mean, This is fine. If anything men should also get to use it for free, but given how absolutely atrocious the area is to women, who fucking cares. What we are seeing is that bus travel should be free, not that the use is being abused.

You can claim whatever you’d like my guy. In the end it’s really up to you. Personally, I like the discussion to involve more than just my own opinions, and I don’t call anyone in an open/public forum an infiltrator. Maybe a bad actor though? For posting unhelpful regurgitated rhetoric - as if one sub could possibly be the sole source of reason for men.
/r/MensRights27/12/22 05:01 PM
2

Reason/logic like anything else can be biased based on a persons’ morals. To ban people because they have different opinions is a form of representation which I deem unhealthy. You can decide for yourself if you want to be in an environment which encourages that behavior or not. As long as someone’s opinion doesn’t objectify/harm others, I welcome it as part of the discussion.

Then you acknowledge there is a difference. He said he was trying to get a babysitting gig, that’s more in depth than just watching your kid for an hour while you go out to get cigarettes. It’s also not a good idea to just let strangers watch your children while you’re out to get a coffee or whatever you do. You probably know the person through someone. Otherwise it’s kinda fuckn weird.
/r/MensRights11/12/22 04:24 AM

Yep, sure, uh huh, ten yr old you don’t know is fully capable of watching your kid.
/r/MensRights11/12/22 04:19 AM
-5

I just think if 1, your dad is pretty toxic if he’s telling his kid that everyone is afraid of him because they think he’s a pedo 2, if a ten your old wanted to watch my kid, I’d laugh and say absolutely not, you’re too young to understand responsibility. 3, you probably watched your nephews, or siblings, and it was fine because you’re related and you know them, but at -10- nobody is self aware enough to know they are “good with kids” This whole post seems abit inflated
/r/MensRights11/12/22 04:09 AM
2

If you’re wandering around your neighborhood at 10 asking to baby sit, you’re being told no because you’re 10 yrs old. Not because you’re a dude. Were you a ten year old girl, they would say the same, because nobody wants a 10 yr old to watch their children. Yes, this is different from watching a sibling while your parents go to the gas station.

I don’t think anyone actually likes Chris pratts character in Jurassic World. That movie is so fucking bad… I’ve never heard of a king splitting open vaginas because he wanted to see them.. it is true that western society goes about birthing in an unnatural way, typically you’re supposed to be standing so that gravity can help ya out. I figured we started laying women down for this so doctors could get a look at what’s going on without laying down like a car mechanic on a dolly.

Dude you’re referring your own comment from two years ago that is just /fucking littered/ with confirmation bias that I don’t even know where to begin. “If patriarchy is real, then why is their rape? I think you must be reading my other comment thread with that other guy, and that’s kinda weird. I’m stating you’re choosing to bash women, feminists, who are actively trying to expand their own rights, You’re stating feminists hate men and don’t want equal rights or fair representation in the work place; that worker reform should exclude the voices of women because they aren’t present. However the reality is, this entire conversation was orchestrated by our patriarchal imperialist forefathers w…

Didn’t intend to abandon it, was just pointing out the bizarrely irrational thought path you’re tumbling down. Thus far here we are; “You’re bashing an entire feminist movement” “Bro entire is a straw man” Entire refers to all feminists, lots of which advocate for mens rights, worker rights in general. You’re being exclusionary in the same lens as the argument for “all lives matter.” Sorry if the cake smells shitty, you baked it.

Obviously 🙄 We live in a capitalist hellhole where deaths are acceptable when building shit. This is a worker rights issue, something we need to burn capitalists at the stake for. Excluding women from the discussion is cutting down our numbers, given they work too and need to put food on the table as well?
/r/MensRights23/11/22 07:33 PM
-1

I think we’re about to break common ground! As I’m sure you’ve heard before, most of those deaths happen only to men because the industries you’re referring to typically hire men, women attempting to find jobs often are overlooked for fields like construction which is why in some cases they are considered a diversity hire despite women making up something like 50% of the world. Yes, men are more likely to die at work, I’m sure that figure has something to do with women not being able to acquire …

“Mens rights advocacy” Is laughable. Where is the policy discussion? All we do in here is shit on feminists who go over to their corner and shit on meninists. You’re right I should just attack an entire gender instead, vastly more forgivable. Sorry guy, gotta call bad faith on this argument. This study about biases does not prove women have no empathy, which is defined as “the ability to understand and share feelings with each other” It also doesn’t even use the word disgust in the study… You’re pointing at something and extrapolating meaning based in a bias you already had. This is also a space for people to voice their opinions, having an opinion like “football is dumb as fuck” isn’t toxic or Misandry tote-ing. It’s an opinion. I like motorcycles and dungeons and dragons, I’m sure you think those things are boring or dumb as fuck too; look we can have differing opinions and celebrate them in their own way, it has nothing to do with sexuality. Stop shitposting on people who express an opinion.

I mean this comment is pretty much what they’re talking about. This sub is meant as a support network. A positive place for men to just be, free of criticism. I agree with OP, this sub has a lot to work on regarding women. As has been said many, many times, feminism is split by Terfs (trans exclusionary radical feminists) and just “feminists” who really just want fair wages and rights like the rest of us enjoy. Trans women are women and ofc they are valid. Trans men are too. World really needs to stop drawing lines in the sand over bullshit that nobody really cares about.

I don’t think there is enough information here to judge a relationship as a removed third party. But talk to your friend if you’re concerned. Say how you feel and what you have observed and maybe that will open his eyes. This also may just be something she does passively without even knowing it.

If you take a look at what is actually being said in these articles there is an awful lot of work being done by phrases like “we don’t know how many men are actually being assaulted” due to x,y,z. Look guys, if everyone- void of stigma, is reporting sexual assault, rape, domestic violence, that’s still a metric fuckton of no-no sauce for BOTH men and women. Both men and women can choose to waive their rights to the baby. It’s an option. Both parents are still liable for bills. Liability is the secret to this great question. Regarding consequences, they are not the same, given one involves giving birth, the other involves monetary support. If both parents give up rights to the kid then they no longer have to support it. If only one parent does, the other is forced to comply as in our society it takes two incomes (typically) to support a child. Tax p…

Listen bud, I didn’t even bring up the condom thing, it’s a fringe example of bad behavior from a sexual partner and I don’t understand true focus on it. Yes it’s bad that men and women suffer from RC, I’ve heard the term, I’ve heard the “10% of men and women suffer from reproductive coercion” factoid before I don’t see how it’s just the woman’s problem, that solves nothing. Please use smaller words maybe because right now you just sound like a tit

Okay first, you should read that whole article. Reproductive coercion is a problem with society, it’s not just women poking holes in fucking condoms. Holy shit bro you’re so in the dark you can’t even see the fucking light. You fight RC by fighting fucked up religious ideals, toxic behavior perpetuated, etc. If tomorrow you made it illegal to poke holes in condoms Reproductive Coercion does not stop, or even go down Lmfao

Men totally could do this if we had a tax funded morally responsible healthcare system, I didn’t know that was on the table in the mens subreddit but hey why not bring it up now! If children from birth to 18 were medically covered and had stipend provided to care providers by the state that would be a more fair and sustainable method of doing this. But bro chicks can’t even get abortions in every state now, so I highly doubt this will come to be in our day.

You really need to look up the OSH Act because it covers this pretty well. Your company is liable if you are hurt on the job while following the rules. If woman gets pregnant while following the rules (contraceptives, condoms etc) you as a owner of this company (you each own your own bodies) are equal parts responsible financially. Lmao dude. If your company gives you cancer, do you get to decide how it’s dealt with? (Obviously you and your medical professionals decide what is best for your situation) If your choice is to not have that cancer cut out of you, does your company no longer have liability? Wear a rubber, and maybe confirm that your partner isn’t trying to just procreate before getting in there my friend. A wonderful fact of life is that accidents are bound to happen. You’re still responsible. You can void yours…

Treating it like a medical condition boils the situation down. Cancer works as a perfect analogy in terms of an accident. Companies accidentally give their employees cancer all the time and are held responsible financially. In terms of a man wanting a child and a woman not wanting it, since he doesn’t have to live with it inside him for 9 months, I would say his opinion and desires are irrelevant to the situation until we hit the stage of medical technology when we can just transfer the baby to …

Because it doesn’t grow inside you for 9 months. You are no more entitled to a cancer on your neighbors pelvis than you are to a baby inside someone else’s body. That said, once it’s outside of the body, people generally start asking questions about how it got there and who is responsible for this thing that nobody wanted in the first place. Congratulations welcome to adulthood

Idk about incel, but I would say youre being kind of a dick to parents. Some girls just wanna have fun. Some girls just need money. Generalizing this as a whole is just silly. I’m sure a study does exist, you just need to do women hunting to find it. You’re referencing gendered studies it sounds like? Im not really sure where this is coming from? Toxic masculinity refers to the abhorrent standards created around masculinity, defined to us by capitalist ideas. Like how fucked up it is that we teach men to repress emotions. So let’s try again by breaking this down. Your sites “argument” is a personal view, something you witnessed 10 years ago on the internet, women, feminists talking down the suicide rates in young boys. /r/MensRights05/10/22 11:36 PM

Sexism and biases prevents integration because it allows unfounded and bullshit ideals to hang around as fact. When clearly it’s not. Shit man, WW2 had segregated military actions. They didn’t have black people fighting in white companies. That doesn’t mean they were less capable, it means in that era of history the army was fuckn racist. So yeah, buddy boy, the outcomes of those conflicts would have been different. I also think masculinity issues and PTSD would be far less.
/r/MensRights05/10/22 10:01 PM

I don’t think this example works as there is a clear over sexualization within the military. The whole idea was men cannot control themselves around women, and women could not survive the harsh realities of combat, both of which are inherently false and old ideas projected onto modern sensibility. Women should be in the military. I think sexism prevents it (towards both men and women) as men are told they can’t control themselves and women are told they aren’t stronk enough.

Your defense of Jordan Peterson is that “well he says things at I like” which is not a defense. JP is no different. Hold men to the same standard that you are projecting on others. JP does a good job of “Othering” people, that’s what you’re doing right now. That isn’t healthy.

Nuns have a history of being and abused and abusing others and getting away with it. This is true. Not sure why I’m downvoted but fuck it, this sub is a toxic pool of bloodlust and sadness

It’s almost like we live on different planets. Matchmakers are quitting because women are so demanding and unreasonable, and men face jail time when they approach a woman? Are you crazy?

Actually my opinion boils down to this; Men are in control, we can have valid feelings, your feels are valid, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a patriarchy. Because of this, there is a pecking order (whether we choose to agree with it or not) which inherently disenfranchises a group beneath us. In this case, women. You can break down races the same way. Boo, you need to calm down if you intend to engage in critical thinking.

On an individual level no two people can experience the same suffering. I’m sure anyone in the world would agree with that, and you seem to be missing a very important point regarding this discussion. Your experiences are subjective. They do not make up the experiences of an entire society, and perpetuating the thought that men are not a ruling class is simply disingenuous. The above phrase does include all men, similar to how the other includes all women. The reason one is worse than the other …

Clementine Ford was banned from Facebook and has been banned from twitter several times including lost her job due to hate speech. Sounds like the system is operating as intended? Unless you think people shouldn’t be allowed second chances on twitter? Where is that strong logical brain of yours bud? She also issued an apology over the very tweet your talking about? Not that a believe her, but I don’t really think our society is going to take and run with that rhetoric since the majority of our s…

I see, so you believe that although racism and sexism exist, they have no baring on our society today? And that our fundamental structures under capitalism remain untainted by such notions? Because I think that’s kinda bullshit my friend. Patriarchy is pretty easy to see in our society. Sure things are getting better, but to say it doesn’t exist is just laughably wrong.

In both occasions per twitter rules you’ll be banned. I like my twitter so I think you should proceed with the experiment on my behalf. Do you have a link to a feminist saying these things? Because I’ve literally never seen it. It sounds like what you’re trying to describe is a double standard. Like when a dad high fives his son for making out with his girlfriend but grounds his daughter for the same. Yes, there are double standards in society. Life isn’t fair under capitalism. I think if you ac…

Do you not realize that this same exact argument exists to prove racism and classism aren’t real? This sub scares me with its ridiculous views on men and women. Yes there is a patriarchy, like most issues under capitalism, until it starts affecting the wallets of large corporations/the rich, you will not see any change. To think that women who walk the streets at night and have a fear of death, and consider this has nothing to do with our society and how it’s built has loads to say about this su…

Masculinity is not only male… Gender toxicity doesn’t describe whether or not the toxicity is bad for women or men. Or toxic towards a specific group. Toxic femininity is also a thing, there isn’t a catch all and I’m sure these “young people” you were speaking to looked at you like you were crazy. Example: there are instances in the male gay bubble of toxic fembois. Or the far easier to google slut-shaming between women.

<.< Listen man. I understand you’re having a bad time. It’s hard out there. But I don’t think telling someone “you lost the argument and turned to trolling” in any way is a honest or genuine method of continuing a discussion. How - seriously now, how does a person respond to that? Either you’ll A: call me a troll Or B: continue to ignore the fact that I sent you literal stats about how many men exist in the world compared to women. Either way, you’re just going to continue to ignore reality and …

Still not trolling you, just treating you like a toddler. It is an absolute, undeniable fact that there are about a billion more men than women in the world. If I can’t convince you of simple numbers I might as well stop trying all together.

Well mainly because of conversations like this . . . There are roughly a billion more men than women in the world. That’s.. a lot. There’s more of us. Tbh there are lots of reasons why uhhh violence is just bad. Murder is just bad. Why do you focus on one over the other?

Awwww thanks buddy! Glad one of us thinks womens rights/bodily autonomy is important! Hey dooode tell me, what do you think about your sister/mum having less rights to their own body in the US than you do?

Nobody here is saying men don’t have the same rights. In fact In the US right now women have less rights given the repeal of Roe v Wade. You’re fighting the wrong fight my guy.

If you’re afraid to speak your opinion because you don’t like how people are going to react to it, then I’m sorry, but you simply don’t care enough about your opinion. additionally, you -well- people in general, need to be less afraid of being wrong, being corrected, and just fuckin’ learning from their fellow humans. Idk man. This is a major blow to Human Rights in the United States. Being controversial, or “devils advocate” is just trashy.

Doesn’t this also work for men??? I mean it’s pretty common for -people- to perform sexual assault on drunken individuals, and this is a great asset college kids could utilize, be they male or female.

Just curious about “general quota” Does that refer to men? Because it sounds like some moron forgot 60 > 40, and we still have less women in government than men. This subreddit is humorously toxic

Ehh define toxic without the word toxic... Radioactive? Something only becomes "bad" when you do something wrong with it. There is nothing wrong with spending a weekend hiking, cutting down trees and building a fire using basic tools, fishing to feed yourself, trading in your 4wheels for 2 and living your life by a beard and beer code. But ALL of those things can easily become BAD if the person doing them breaks some cardinal rules. Rules like; "Don't be an asshole." "Don't make decisions for ot…

Hi. Leftist checking in, nobody in the world views grit and strength as toxic. Like all things, it takes the right tools for the right job. Toxicity comes into play when, ya know, you're being toxic.

That sort of suggests all women ever are organized and part of a corporate group. I’m curious as to who would be on this board of trustees.

Guys.. this is a fantasy game.. they’re trying to appeal to a bigger audience. You’re not upset at the mech-arm, you’re not upset at the guy surviving a tank running over him while he single handedly shoots down planes.. but you’re upset by female characters? If you don’t like false portrayals In WW2 games then cherry picking female characters in such a horrible excuse for game is just sickening.

I think we need to chill a bit here. That's kinda a fucked up thing to say to someone you love and respect. Everyone here agrees that fat is pretty much a choice, however yelling at someone or just being mean to them doesn't help them change, if anything they become entrenched. This guy is an asshole as much as she is a fatty, and I think it's important to identify that

That's not really something we have very much control over until pretty recently. And consider the whole idea behind this, people don't have much control over being shot, it's not a choice. Child birth is. Sure, people don't have control over diseases either, but that's not a choice someone else is making for you. People shooting people is worse than dying from s disease.. people shooting people is so much more preventable...

Yeah but we're not talking about who dies more often, we're talking about why they die. If you're being killed, there's a pretty decent chance it's male pulling the trigger. I wouldn't be surprised if most assaults/murders of women were in fact done so by men. I also would assume most men who were murdered/assaulted were done so by men. There is just more male genitalia in the world than female. Therefore this shouldn't be combatted by arguments like "well disease and natural causes kills more p…
