The word you were looking for is mosaic. A cultural mosaic is a description of a nation that considers the different races, ethnicities and otherness of its citizens essential to its existence. The mosaic is often contrasted with the melting pot, which requires all of those differences to meld together in assimilation.

I am using motivated reasoning... by asking for empirical evidence from a trusted source. OR You are using motivated reasoning by failing to produce reliable facts. You do get that its on you to back up your data? I don't have to prove you wrong. The onus is on you to produce data that is reliable to supplement your suppositions. I just don't know what to say. Clearly the data isn't reliable. Where was this data taken? How big is the data set? Is the data from across the country, or a particular area? Its basically statistically impossible to get 98% of anything in a diverse group. And they are using such outrageous claims. 98% never gave a dollar to their kid? I just cannot believe it. I don't think I worded my statement well enough. I am suggesting that outcome doesn't matter. If someone is trying to kill someone, they should go to jail for attempted murder. Using the same logic, if someone throws a punch/slap in anger, they are attempting to harm someone else, and should be charged with assault, just like someone who did harm.
