39	My 31 yr old Uncle (surgeon) got shamed because he refused to marry a post-wall 30 year old The guy no longer finds the prospect of marriage with that girl appealing. If he goes through it just because "he promised to", it's highly likely resentment will build and the marriage will collapse. Having called off the wedding, we now have one unhappy party (the girl) instead if both. And come on, we're rooting for the guy here. I'd totally do the same.
