I mean if you acknowledge that there are the same institutions blocking the goals of feminists and MRAs certainly that could be common ground, right? 1	Understanding perspectives, MRM & Feminism So your first question is legitimate: how similar are these two movements? But I am afraid the examples you give get a little pissing contest-y. Similarly with your second question. A better way to ask how similar they really are would be to look at the larger institutions (e.g. patriarchy) that cause the problems for both groups. I think that is the common ground where people can begin to reconcile their differences and realize they are aiming for the same goal.	/r/MensRights	01/10/13 08:49 PM
1	"When men whistle at a women walking by, it has a different force and meaning than if women were to whistle at a man walking by." - My intercultural studies textbook. Why wouldn't power relations be at play? If a police officer tries to stop me as I am walking down the street I am a lot more likely than if it is just some citizen asking for change or the time. Why? Whether or not I think the police officer has any reason or right to stop me, he has a gun and plenty of ways to make my life miserable.
