How was everyone’s Halloween? I got tied up working till almost 9 pm. Never even got to carve my pumpkin.🎃 Its life has been extended another month as it will now be a Thanksgiving decoration.

Yes, the internet gives activists a stronger voice and a wider outreach. This extends to extremists as well. But, any major religion is anti-woman, and for thousands of years nobody thought that was an issue. Many still don’t.

That is one way of putting it. Another way would be they are fighting back against systems and cultures that have historically relegated women to be second class citizens, expected to be subservient to men.

I don’t think it’s so sudden. You’re just starting to be more aware of it. There’s been a sort of gender Cold War going on since before women got the vote.

And in junior high I thought all I needed to do to become pretty and popular was to replace my nerd glasses with contact lenses. 8th grade was certainly a disappointment - and a learning experience.

I don't think you can attribute human motives to birds. The cuckoo isn't evil; it's just doing what cuckoos have evolved to do.

I usually don’t like the “pumpkin spice” trendiness but pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls sound amazing. Do you use a cream cheese frosting or drizzle? I think it sounds like it would pair well.

Thank you! I’ve missed this place, honestly. It’s one of the few subs that feels like a real community, at least one that I would want to spend, oh, hours a day with while working from home (ahem).
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 03:42 AM

I didn’t actually want to know, you realize. I just wanted to grouse about using condoms.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 03:26 AM

I know, I feel bad about missing so much around here but we lost our director and our office manager (we work from home so they should change this name) over the summer, plus 2 other staff, and I was the next senior staff person left. So basically I had to impersonate those 2 roles plus do my actual job while also recruiting and hiring my future supervisors. Not to mention the usual life and family business - aging parents, husband, kid, etc. We finally have a director and it looks like we are c…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 03:18 AM

Sure, and others of us are allergic to latex as well. Sure, you can buy polyurethane condoms instead, but they are less effective and also more likely to break. Well, nobody ever said life is risk free.

Women on Reddit don’t even always agree with each other in lockstep, why would you think we would be representative of women as a whole? We aren’t even representative of each other in all cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:42 AM

Yes. My extended family is its own peculiar brand of Irish Catholic family values and staunch liberalism.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:36 AM

Different from whom? My 30 year old cousin is also a feminist with 4 kids - twins that came prematurely and were inadvertently born at home, and 2 singletons, normal births, no problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:33 AM

For most of human history women died almost routinely from childbirth so at least medical technology has gotten better - till Republicans find ways to legislate those advances away, of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:30 AM

My mom actually had 3 but one passed at birth. He was a boy. Placenta previa. The same thing happened with my birth but they managed to keep me alive. My sister is 2 years younger and her birth had no such issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:22 AM

How have you been?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:17 AM

But you did say they “don’t want kids”, not “are putting off having kids.”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:16 AM

My mother and her 3 sisters are all feminists. My mom and her middle sister had 2 kids a piece, eldest had 3 and youngest has 4. I just have the one kid, but not for lack of trying.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:15 AM

Ooh, fun! I’ve always wanted to go to Salem MA.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:12 AM

If you really, really don’t want kids, which is how I phrased it, why would you want to reverse it? Edit: I had an IUD for 7 years. I loved it. No periods, no fuss, no muss. Until the little sucker got loose and meandered up into my uterus and had to be removed in a horribly painful procedure that made me pass out, piss myself, and throw up.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 02:07 AM

❤️
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 01:47 AM

And there are a dozen or more methods of preventing babies besides condoms. Half the fun of an LTR is not having to use condoms anymore. If you are having casual sex, sure, condoms make sense. In a marriage, I’d rather go bareback and use something longer lasting like an IUD or an implant. And if you really, really never want kids, there are tubal ligations and vasectomies.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 01:42 AM

What even is the point of getting married if you still have to use condoms every time?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/23 01:27 AM

Carving a pumpkin, buying candy “for trick-or-treaters” and then eating it myself because we never get any trick-or-treaters in our gated building, mortifying my dog by dressing him up and walking him around the neighborhood checking out all the decorations.

I would and I am with a partner that makes less money than me. I would not intentionally get into a relationship with someone who is unemployed unless he has some other means of supporting himself other than expecting me to do it. That said, at times over the last 10 years he has been on disability or unemployment. I took on the bulk of our expenses during those times because that is what you do for each other in a marriage. If he just didn’t want to work though, it would be over.

I don't know if I would say "not loving you enough". Your parents can love you wholeheartedly but just not have the means to give you college and a down payment. I think it's more the guidance, care, and emotional support you received from them than the financial backing.

How is that relevant? Yeah, if someone was an asshole to another person I would probably tell them not to be one. And I would console the recipient of the insult with pretty much what I said, perhaps a little softer in person than on an anonymous forum but the basic message. If I there was no exclusivity a paternity test seems reasonable. Or if she has cheated or otherwise behaved in an untrustworthy fashion. Or if you make it clear before pregnancy is even a consideration that you will want a paternity test. If I was a faithful wife and we were actively trying to conceive, i would be less amenable. I would feel insulted, and hurt, and like my relationship had serious issues. I would also suspect that if projecting because he himself cheated. But that is just me.

Men complain on here that women never compliment men so yesterday I complimented a guy on his long curly hair. It really was great hair. But afterwards I had to wonder if this 22-25 year old was appreciative of being complimented or if he was creeped out that some middle aged lady was hitting on him. I wasn’t, mind you. But a lot of men do think a woman complimenting him is hitting on them. Oh well.

A lot of manchildren also believed they needed a PS5. I don’t care, it’s their money, but it was eye roll inducing when many of them bitched online about how hard it was to get one and how the PS5 should be reserved for “serious” players only (which apparently excludes female gamers).

Most of my male friends are average men and all of them are married or in serious relationships. There are 3 men in my unit at work - one is married and the other 2 have girlfriends. The ones that I know that are single are mostly single by design, and the ones that aren’t are mostly over 60.

You actually can have kids at 40. You can conceive naturally, or do IVF, or freeze your eggs to use later. I know a lot of women who conceived 40-47 years of age. I personally would not want to have babies that late, but I had mine at 22 and was done with childrearing by 40ish. It was nice to finally relax and also to still have the energy to go out and have fun, which I may not have had if I became an empty nester at 60+.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 06:28 PM

People are having children later in general. And in this current economy I absolutely do not blame them. In 1992 I rented a 2-story duplex for $600. Studios where I live are now between 1200-1500.

Knowing what a clitoris is and how it works will put you worlds above a hefty percentage of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 04:40 PM

Most women want love and children. It's more difficult and more expensive to be a single mom than a partnered one. Since the window of fertility is shorter for women, they want the commitment (symbolic of the love) so they can get to the children part.

To be good in bed, but you still need to know how to kiss. The kissing is what she will need to get turned on enough to want you anywhere near her clitoris.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 04:04 PM

Serviceable is not the same as great. But kissing is a very important part of being physically intimate with your partner so yeah, that helps a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/23 03:55 PM

All that is required for a man to be good in bed is knowing where the clitoris is, and not being afraid to touch it.

My standards for looks were never that high to begin with, because I am able to differentiate between movie stars, fictional characters, and regular people. I’m sexually liberated enough. I’ve had a pretty great sex life overall. I tend to be nonjudgmental about kinks and such, even if they aren’t kinks I share or understand. However, some things are just impossible not to judge. Pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia all deserve to be judged. The scat fetishes I judge. Extreme sadomasochism with permanent scarring. Stuff like that I will judge.

Hitting on women is not creepy in and of itself. Black pill will say that women only call unattractive men creepy but this is definitely not the case. Look at Armie Hammer. Dude is creepy. It’s how you hit on them that can be creepy - maybe you make overly sexual remarks, maybe you invade her personal space, maybe when talking to her you gaze at her breasts instead of looking at her face, maybe you touch her inappropriately. Or send her cannibalistic messages like our good friend Armie.

I think it is a combination. Men can cum pretty easily comparatively speaking from PIV or BJs whereas women are more likely to cum from clitoral stimulation. So part physiological. Many woman also have to be in the right headspace for sex, so that part is psychological. All that said, men are often inclined to skip foreplay and get right to the sexxing. Doing so ignores the physiological and psychological needs of women. As we have already discussed, many women don’t cum from PIV the way most me…

I assume #1, but often there are nonverbal clues that a man is looking for more than just an innocent conversation. In those cases it depends on (a) if I am in a relationship or single, and (b) assuming I'm single, it will depend if I am attracted to him. If I am not interested, I pretend he wants an innocent conversation even if I am picking up signs that he wants more than that.

I was single and had been celibate 4 years. One day around 40, a 30-year old asked me out. Legally, yes, they are adults. If you have ever actually lived with a 19-year old as a 40 year old (which I have), it's clear that they still have some growing up to do. Are those 18-21 year olds doing it of their own free will, or were they encouraged by much older boyfriends? Let's take the example of 17 year old Dorothy Stratten, who was wooed by 26 year old Paul Snider. He hired a photographer to take nudes of her, which he sent off to Playboy. At 18 years of age she became Playmate of the y…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 02:44 PM

I find it an issue because I've seen girls being fucked over by much older men, and I've been made uncomfortable by much older men who think they were entitled to my company. A 19 year old is barely an adult. Probably living with her parents or in a college dorm. She does not have the experience romantically or life-wise of a 40 year old and many of those 40 year olds admit that her lack of maturity is the draw. Having been the mother of a 19-year old, this makes me concerned.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 02:15 PM

There is no contradiction. I don't care if men don't want to date me, for my age or for any other reason. Probably the majority of men wouldn't, and that's valid. A select few have been interested and that has been more than enough for me. I do care if a 40 year old takes advantage of a teenager.

There is also the fantasy is having this rich, powerful, dangerous (insert your adjective of choice) man falling madly in love with you because you are just that sexy/desirable/lovable. Like men, women also want validation via our roman…

I mean, people read romantic literature to fantasize. They aren’t self help books or tech manuals. So why would you not optimize the fantasy and imagine being prettier, or more desirable, or pursued by a billionaire? Or a vampire or werewolf for that matter? Women in general understand that is highly unlikely that they will ever catch the fancy of a billionaire, let alone a vampire or werewolf. When you watch porn do you decide to take a job as a pizza delivery boy in hopes of having women open …
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 12:37 PM

I’m 52. Women raise their standards because as you mature you get a better sense of self, you are more aware of what you want, and you are more aware of what red flags are out there. I never shamed any man for not wanting to date me in particular, for my age or any other reason. I want someone who is attracted to me and wants to be with me of their own free will, after all. I do think dating much younger women as a much older man can be detrimental to those women, so that is when I might shame t…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 12:26 PM

Yeah. Dating is inherently unfair. Life is inherently unfair. You aren’t going to get a participation trophy for existing. You’ll have to make something of yourself and other people will have that same stuff come easier to them because of better genes or more money or whatever. You can accept that, do the best with what you have, and work hard to improve your circumstances. Or you can whine like a 6 year old who has been told he can’t have candy before dinner. Your choice.

Not really. First off, very few women sleep with 100 guys, and would you consider dating her long term if she did? The average is 5-7. Maybe one of those guys will be memorable. It’s not difficult to make that memorable guy, you. Just make her pleasure as important as your own and that small step will make you better than most. Racism is always wrong. Naively getting in a car alone with a dude you barely know or going to his house and being alone with him is how women get raped and killed though, so a woman probably should not do that until she knows him a little better. My mother is 74 and retired but she still goes into the office every day (she owns the business), and she has a ton of side projects such as acting in local theatre and local commercials. She's like a shark, if she stops moving she'll die. Anyway, those are the standards I have to live up to, aside from just not wanting to be poor, so I do expect to work until retirement age or until I die, whichever comes first.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/23 03:51 PM

Consider that a feature, not a bug. If you lock down the woman of your dreams, do you want her to be attracted to a wide range of men, leer at them in public, DM them in private, and cheat on you on every opportunity? That is what women face thanks to men's wider range of attraction.

I assure you, if men disappeared tomorrow, women would keep things going. That’s traditionally been the case during wars when men go off to fight. Never heard of Rosie the Riveter?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/23 12:26 AM

Didn’t exclude relationships either.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/23 12:21 AM

I was referring to not needing be in a relationship with a man. Not the oft-ballyhooed “men run society” that so many men who don’t run shit like to spout.

I have been here since 2017 and this question is asked at least once a week if not more. It is a cliche at this point and if you don’t believe the answers that were given the last 300+ times this question was asked, nothing any woman says will change your mind.

So block those accounts and follow higher quality people.

I’m not going to bother defending women to someone who is clearly hostile to them. It would be a waste of time.

Get to know a woman and determine for yourself if she brings anything to the table that you find valuable.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:37 PM

My point exactly.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:36 PM
39

No, I’m saying it is a question intended to put women on the defensive. If you can’t get to know a woman and determine if she is someone you want to spend time with without treating her to a business interview instead of a date, you should probably give up dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:36 PM

I don’t. But I’m a tall and willowy 5’2 1/2.”
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:33 PM

I typed up a nice reply and Reddit ate it. If I see a man who makes the effort to dress well, wears great shoes, takes time with hair and such, I will notice and think better of the kind of person he is. It would definitely raise his SMV/RMV and I would not be thinking scornfully of his height or looks. But my husband is 5’8” and dresses sharply when the occasion dictates. The “people” who get offended when a less attractive woman uses makeup or dresses well are largely men. Women would likely j…

/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:25 PM

Yes, I agree. It is a lie that women need a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 11:12 PM

I don’t NEED a man, I lived for many years without one, but my husband improves my quality of life. No, not because of money and resources; because we have fun together, are best friends, and saucy lovers.

I have noticed that too. I remember being encouraged to breastfeed in the restroom. Do you eat your breakfast in the restroom? I certainly don't sit on the toilet and eat my food, so why would I sit on the toilet and breastfeed a baby? In California it's been legal to breastfeed in public for a couple of decades at least.

I did that for 4 years. After the initial breakup angst, I had a pretty nice little life and I didn't really think much about all the sex I wasn't having. Eventually though, I did have it again. Now I'm in my 50s though, and if something happens and my husband and I are no longer together, I am not particularly interested in dating or trying to replace him.

A lot of women might be glorified children, but the rest of us can handle responsibilities and are used to running their households. Even as children, girls often help their mothers with chores and cooking and baking and taking care of the younger kids.

Yeah, no to all of this. First of all, that is not what RP means when they say treat women like children and it is disingenuous to pretend otherwise. Second, calling a romantic partner Daddy makes my skin crawl. I do not want to think of my father during sex. We are a team. Partners. Not father and child. I pay the bills and do the paperwork. He does contribute his fair share, but I am just better at it. He does the car stuff because he is better at it. And I have handled major responsibilities …

He could always clarify that before the date. “Hey, since it’s a first date, let’s split and see how it goes.” Or do something like coffee or a drink. Happy hours can be fun dates - cheap eats and drinks, and it’s usually a timeline like 5-6 pm so you aren’t stuck doing a whole meal with someone you don’t know too well yet.

I wouldn’t take it so seriously. Your first time having sex will be awkward and you’ll be nervous. Your first time with a new partner may also be awkward and you may be nervous. Learn to laugh off any mishaps and listen to the verbal and non-verbal cues your partner is giving you. Enthusiasm and a desire to make it pleasurable for your partner is more important than experience. If something like premature ejaculation happens (and it might), don’t get embarrassed. Play it off like she is just so …

Anything nice I say will be dismissed as “you have to say that, you’re my mother.” Anything constructive I offer will met with “you don’t know what it is like for people my age.” Or “You’ve never been a man, you don’t know anything.” Anything critical will be met with “I can’t believe you said that to me, you’re supposed to be my mom!” So he should go to his dad.

I moved to Sacramento with no friends in 1992. I met some other moms and a few of the teachers via my daughter's daycare between 1994-1998 and they took pity on me and adopted me. Most of those friendships are still ongoing. I moved to a rural community some 30 minutes out of town in 2017. My social life consists mostly of visiting my friends back in Sac or chatting with people at the gym or the grocery store. I have no friends out here. It's definitely harder to make friends as an older adult.

Why is it scary to ask what makes them male spaces? Men here bitch and complain about how women won't take jobs traditionally for men - now here are you complaining about men invading "male spaces." Men complain about not knowing how to meet women but also don't want them in "male spaces." What makes them male spaces? Why are they off-limits to women? As far as I can tell, locker rooms and restrooms are still segregated, you can still be naked with other men without women present.

Nobody said she was an angel or that there are never fights in relationships. From what it sounds like, he had arthritis and cancer and she thought he was not interested in sex. So then he had to tell her that she was old and wrinkled and he didn't find her attractive? Like he is some Adonis? Again, she would be better off with boxed wine and cats than with someone who belittles her and mocks her looks and age, especially since, you know, he is the same age. Maybe he's going senile.

Because they are not the same 4 walls and television aesthetic you get at home. Because you get sunlight or moonlight and the ambient sounds of the outdoors. Because they are fun, yes, but also because they are memorable. You’re making memories. In 10 years are you going to be talking about that video game she watched while you played for hours? Or will you talk about that time you went to that free show and watched people dance and were silly together?

/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 02:21 PM

You aren’t doing the same activities at home, though. It’s just you, and maybe your partner at home. So you are not interacting with other people. Certainly there is not a live band in your yard, at least not for most people most weekends. You aren’t sitting in a whirlpool of bubbles and with your partner in your tub at home. Also the hot tub is outside, I am guessing your tub at home is in the bathroom.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 02:20 PM
2

Yeah, I don’t complain nearly as much about paying.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 02:16 PM

Drive in - the experience! Being outside at night, the people watching, etc. And the hot tub has jets, is 3 feet deep, and is big enough for 10 people. My home tub has no jets, is not very deep, and can barely fit 2. The park has free concerts, duh! Also has coyotes, deer, wild turkeys, lizards… my yard is tiny and boring in comparison. Eating out is better than eating in my kitchen because I don’t have to cook or clean up afterward.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 02:13 PM
1

No it isn’t. Couples enjoy attention and affection with each other. She’s not a sex doll you put in the closet and take out when you are bored playing video games or feel horny. My husband and don’t go out a lot because we are old, but we’ll go on hikes or use the hot tub at our gym or go out to eat or just take our dog to the river and enjoy the day. Aside from the food and the cost of the gym, we don’t spend a bunch on entertainment. Occasionally we’ll pack blankets and pillows and snacks and …

Sigh! No, we do not want 24/7 entertainment. Women also have their own shit to do and want time to relax. You dudes are so hyperbolic. You don’t need to spend money and take them out to spend time with women. Just turn off the tv, look her in the eyes, and talk. And listen.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 01:52 PM

That’s awesome! We got together in May. He had agreed to work for his friend’s construction business in the fall and so we had an end date of Labor Day weekend. I had an old iPod and I filled it up with music for him to take with him when he left. He came back 3 months later and we picked up where we left off, started saying “I love you”, and met each other’s families.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 01:47 PM

Nothing wrong with relaxing during your free time, but if you have a girlfriend, she probably wants to spend time with you, not just stare at the screen while you play video games for hours. At least sex her up first.

Mr LoveShack already thinks Reddit is a waste of time and worries that one of these dudes is going to show up and kill me some day. (I’ve told him it’s anonymous.) But he is not one to tell me what to do. If I started making Tinder experiments though, he might have a (valid) complaint.

Nothing wrong with finding someone attractive, even if they are objectively out of your league. Making your attraction her problem would be an issue, by which I mean if you asked her out and she said no and then you kept pestering her. But just being attracted or even going so far as to ask her out is nothing to feel guilty about. But you seem to have a better rapport with her friend. What is up with that?

I knew just enough to ask for milk, say I love you, and little stuff like that. And “Let it be,” which is what my dad would say to her whenever she started into him about whatever. She died when I was 11 and I haven’t spoken it since, but I still remember a few things.

Not a bit. I lost mine with another virgin, but we did not stay together. After that I did not care if he was a virgin. Neither did the men I slept with care if I was one. And not in a “sure he’ll sleep with you but he won’t commit” way. I’ve cohabitated 3 times and been married twice. Those relationships lasted 6-10 years. My other relationships have lasted 1-3 years.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/23 04:37 AM

His brother looks just like him but fat. Looking at his brother is like looking at him but in a fun house mirror. So weird. He's diabetic and vacillates between too thin and normal weight. Not just finding someone you actually want to have sex with - they actually want to have sex with you too. Guys in the top 5-20% have standards after all, because they can. Despite the hysteria on PPD, most top tier men are not having sex with average girls. They are having sex with top tier girls.

Getting sex is easy. I could probably walk outside and get someone to have sex with me right now. They'd probably be a smelly old bum, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, right? The point is, acquiring sex is the easy part. Finding someone you want to have it with, who also wants to have it with you, is the hard part.

I do understand men wanting to be careful about not being accused of rape. Establishing consent should handle most of that. That said: 1 - Why not just have sex with women who are not drunk, instead of having sex with drunk women and taking pains to pretend to be drunk "just in case"? Sounds predatory. 2 - Sounds creepy. Or maybe his feet are getting chilly about the impending nuptials. She's absolutely correct - if she can't afford their current lifestyle at 50/50 they will need to downsize. He can be cool with that or they should break up, whichever works.

I make him coffee in the morning before he wakes up - I wake up around 7 and he sleeps in till 9-10. If he has to work in the morning, I'll go so far as to bring him coffee in bed. I dole out his medications into a weekly pill box for him. I asked him just now and he said hopefully, "Wash the dishes?" Nope, it's still his turn. He then followed up with wash his work clothes, cook him dinner, make love to him, and tell him I love him all the time. Apparently the coffee doesn't register. I bet it …

I don't think so per se, but women tend to be attracted to men within a few years of their own age. So an 18-22 year old might like the K-Pop guys, a 22-30 year old might be attracted to a Timothee Chalamet or a Tom Holland, a 30-40 year old might like a Hemsworth or Zak Efron, and so on down the line.

They are our own private soap opera. They will start screaming and yelling and slamming doors. Or he will storm out and she will lock the door behind him and then he will bang on it for hours screaming for her to let him back in. Or she will follow him around the property yelling his name. The cops come out probably once a month to usher them back inside and get them to be quiet. Sometimes I’m tempted to get a glass of wine and watch from my deck, but that would be too obtrusive.

After taxes, rent/mortgage, bills and court ordered child support, sure!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 10:00 AM
1

No we don’t. I can’t walk up to any man on the street and demand he put a baby in me. You still control where you put your penis.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 09:59 AM
3

No, but those babies are entitled to eat.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 09:58 AM
1

Men provide the sperm.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 09:57 AM
1

Wearing a condom seems fair. Expecting others to take care of your mistakes does not.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 01:57 AM
2

No, because bodily autonomy.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 01:56 AM
9

Is this the male accountability we hear so much about around here? You don’t want to take preventative measures like wearing condoms and then you want other people to raise the babies you willingly made?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 01:35 AM
-1

Because we do not need the average Joe equivalent of Nick Cannon making dozens of babies and then expecting other people to pay for it?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 01:33 AM
7

I also would not like to meet my financial obligations but there would be consequences if I just stopped paying my bills. As there should be for men who expect others to pick up the tab for the babies they made.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 12:08 AM
1

Why would they not pay child support?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/23 12:01 AM

This sounds like bullshit to me. Like the guys who want women to blow them on demand because men built the railroads or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:59 PM
5

No. If you create a child, you should contribute to its upbringing. My taxes should not go up, nor should YOUR child starve, because you didn’t want to wear a condom.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:53 PM

How is money rooted in biology? Other than, you know, not.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:51 PM
1

So use a condom like an adult if “women lie.” The fact is birth control can fail. And once you are pregnant your pro choice world view can falter, because it’s not a hypothetical pregnancy, it’s yours.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:50 PM
2

That’s not why. It’s because they don’t want to raise taxes to cover welfare.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:45 PM
4

So you don’t believe fathers have a responsibility to the children they spawn?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:43 PM
0

Yes, it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 11:42 PM

No.

I don’t hate them, though I am not fond of the idea of them exploiting women for sex. On the other hand, that exploitation probably supports her immediate family. It’s a conundrum.

My husband claims triple digits but is 5’8.

I think if you are in a relationship with someone you are not allowed to have feelings for, you need to get out of that relationship, but what do I know?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 08:23 PM
1

Only if as a man you have no spine and will stay in a relationship with a woman you don't care about just for the sex... oh wait. Men here admit they do this.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 08:01 PM

My husband had no resources when I met him. He didn't even have furniture. Try again.

I don't really count drinks from friends, do you? But random men offering to buy women drinks just doesn't really happen to the extent they seem to believe. I don't know if it's generational or where they live or maybe I just hang around the wrong men, idk.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:53 PM

Not even when it's on fire. We seem to have gotten better with earthquakes though.

I 2nd this, it would be hilarious to see the fuming when she bans someone for not being civil.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:49 PM

We had an untraditional amount of rain in January 2023 and we lost a shit ton of trees. There are still trees down from those storms in our neighborhood park that were never taken care of, and houses taken out by fallen trees that haven't been rebuilt.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:47 PM

Norcal checking in, no rain expected for the next 10 days. But thank you, and tots and pears to my southern brethren.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:40 PM

Sure, I've both accepted rounds or paid for rounds, but I haven't often had dudes ply me with drink in the hopes of getting laid. My husband frequently comped me margaritas in our early days (and even now) but he's a bartender so it's not like he paid for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:32 PM
2

Well, obviously the cheating, since I already mentioned it. What I care about is if I feel like he "gets" me and is one of my people, and if I have a kind of connection with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 06:29 PM

I look amazing after sex. The dilated eyes, the glistening skin, the tousled bedroom hair...
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 05:10 PM

I outearn my husband. We also fuck. The good stuff too, not just missionary and a blow job on his birthday.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 05:02 PM

I'm stealing delulu.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 05:01 PM

In the real world outside of PPD, men don't really care that much.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:59 PM
1

Is she still around?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:56 PM

As far as I know. One's got a kid and is a single mom. Her mom is one of the first of my friends to be a grandma.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:53 PM

Heroin seems to be mostly people lying around half comatose. Doesn't look so fun to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:51 PM

How is the Umbrella Academy? I haven't read or seen it yet.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:50 PM

You don't just have sex for validation. You have it because it's fun and it feels good.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:37 PM

I guess? I can think of at least 5 friends whose 20something kids either still live with them or who moved back during Covid.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:33 PM

A lot of the lesbians I know had kids with men before they figured out they were lesbians.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:30 PM

What if he doesn't want kids?

I'm Gen X and it wasn't a big thing when I was younger. Unless I'm just hideously ugly, which I am no Margot Robbie but I don't think I'm grotesque either.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:16 PM

Until PPD I didn't realize that men buying women drinks was such a big thing anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:10 PM

Yes, the handful of women you have had grudging sex with are symbolic of the millions of women who don't want to be touched when they dislike a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:08 PM
1

It's not just me. Most women have jobs and money these days.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:56 PM

I am still shy and awkward. Less so after a margarita or two. Since he was bartending when I met him, he got to see post-margarita Astro and not shy and awkard Astro. Technically he got to see before and after margarita Astro.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:42 PM

That's ridiculous. Random Brad is having way more kids than Chad. Chad doesn't particularly want them. To be brutally honest in an era where most couples divorce anyway, it's not like she can expect either Chad or Brad to stick around, but Chad is a lot less likely to.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:39 PM

Children hating their parents is hardly revolutionary. You'll grow out of it when you need babysitters for your own kids though.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:35 PM

Black Parade era Gerard Way was a pretty pretty man.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:33 PM

Not always, no. Very often girls were shipped off by their families to homes for unwed mothers or the parents "had late in life babies" and the baby was raised as a younger sibling to its mother.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:26 PM

I got to know him, talked to him, flirted with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:11 PM

Yes! It’s why after 3-4 of months of gradual flirting, my husband and I had sex not only on the first date, but on the way to the first date.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 03:10 PM

In 1953 the teen birth rate was 88.2 per 1000 girls 15-19. In 2018 it was 17.4. Yes, birth control accounts for the drop but just the numbers show that teens in the 50s were fucking. https://www.everycrsreport.com/files/20200513_R45184_3b5a5f05a7993f7442fa74f587535c564018e60f.html

/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:54 PM

No, I’m general. I suppose as a college student you don’t know a lot of 30-60 year olds.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:53 PM

And affording them how?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:52 PM
1

No, because you aren’t married to your lab partner. You do understand that a word can convey different meanings depending on the context in which it is used, yes?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:51 PM

Maybe the middle age guy should hit on more age appropriate women.

My husband cannot go to the corner store to buy a pack of cigarettes without making new friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:48 PM

I’m from the US and haven’t been in college in 30 years. Adults call each other partners instead of boyfriend/girlfriend because we are not teenagers.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:45 PM
1

They ARE partners. You’re a couple, not leader and subordinate.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:44 PM

My dog thinks he’s a cat. He was raised by 2 cats. Instead of doing the puppy bow his dumb ass will walk up to another dog and rub up against him.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:41 PM

Aw, that’s sweet!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:40 PM

You can have sexual compatibility without fucking at the earliest opportunity. Let it simmer a couple of dates. The first time will be hotter.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:38 PM

What about 2 examples?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:37 PM

I knew my husband 3-4 months before our first date. I was not DTF during that time. I was, however, DTF on the first date.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:36 PM

I love mine too!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:35 PM

Young US women like young US men can barely afford rent and many are moving back in with their parents or never moving out in the first place - how are they going to have babies in this economy?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:34 PM
13

The last breakup I had was because he cheated. Not because I was not physically attracted. And with my first husband it was because he was engaging in mentally unwell behavior. I didn’t lose physical attraction to him either. In both cases I no longer wanted to have sex with them, but for emotional reasons not lack of attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:32 PM

I lived in a quaint little town along the Mason Dixon line where everybody went to church and the Unitarian Universalists were considered Satanists. And many girls had babies or even got married before they graduated HS, including my little sister who did both. There was the AIDS epidemic but it was still considered a gay disease at first, especially in Small Town USA.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:22 PM

He’s 5’8”. That’s taller than Tom Cruise, James McAvoy, his Spider-Man twin Tom Holland. I used to think Toby McGuire, Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood were interchangeable but apparently Toby is the tall one. Daniel is 5’5” and Elijah is 5’6”.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:12 PM

Thank you for saying that. I wasn’t particularly happy with her for sleeping with him behind my back either, so I did not end up with her.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 02:02 PM

And getting your ear pierced hurts much less!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:59 AM

I thought you could only have sex if you were married until I was like 9 or 10. And I could only masturbate with the closet door shut and the desk light on because the devil was going to drag me to hell or so thing equally unlikely.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:58 AM
1

It doesn’t even hurt as much as a vaccine and has fewer side effects.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 04:56 AM

I honestly don’t remember! I remember talking to her about periods and a convo about masturbation and about birth control/condoms but the actual conversation about sex escapes me.

Is Toby MCGuire what we are calling average now? But the fact is I do not care about any of that and it would not move the needle. Editing to say I do care about the cheating. Just nope.

I probably would not notice tbh.

We took the doggo to the river, fed some ducks, then came came home. He worked ungodly hours the last 2 days, so we have a night off together. I’m going to grill some chicken in a bit and we have ice cream for dessert. Hoping I’ll get lucky after.

He really does sound like my ex-husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:57 AM
1

He’s bipolar. He can be stable for months or years at a time and then he goes off the rails and posts rants to social media or in texts about how persecuted he is and how the world is out to get him.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:54 AM
1

Honestly he sounds a little like how my first husband gets. Which is concerning.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:50 AM
1

That is a little extreme. Have you considered mental health measures? This is above PPD’s admittedly low pay grade.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:49 AM

I kept my name both times I got married. I hyphenated the 1st time but the second time it was like, eh. I’d been me 49 years by then.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:33 AM
1

I was marked absent for the first quarter of gym class one year because I did not respond when the teacher called my name. Because he wasn’t calling my name, he was calling something else, and it did not occur to me that he was looking for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:28 AM
1

Lol no I’m not. I work in legislative affairs and I am physically active. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:10 AM
1

I want to jail them for harassment. Going around asking random women to date you and then calling them bitches when they decline is harassment. Try it at work and see how long it takes you to get fired. Or try in on your high school English class, whichever is more relevant to your circumstances.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 01:05 AM

Yes. Thank you. A voice of reason.

Hemp seed oil is amazing for your hair.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 12:44 AM

🤷‍♀️ Perhaps you are very young and reactionary, and see fascism in everything? I don’t know you well enough to say. But no, I’m not in the business of telling others what to do. Sounds tedious.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/23 12:43 AM

I always hated my name. I wanted a “normal” name instead of having one that made me sound fresh off the boat. Then at some point I decided I like it in spite of itself, because it is not very common.

Just wait until she holds your hand during your first prostate exam.

“Run, Simba! Run away, and never return!” I think you’re awesome but this place is toxic. You deserve better.

Nobody has to do it. But I already said in my own comment to this thread (and elsewhere on this sub) that you can approach. Just be chill if you're rejected. Too many men aren't.

That was over 10 years ago, maybe they've gotten smoother. Idk.

Um, no. Please stop lying, Syphilis and gonorrhea have made comebacks and chlamydia is rampant. Especially among koala bears but that's another story. Some of the biggest hotbeds of STD outbreaks are nursing homes and retirement centers, where people assume they don't need checked because they are too old to get pregnant or impregnate someone.

Yes! They led with "I am a 22 (or 24, or 26) year old virgin looking for a caring, older woman to teach me about sex." Or words to that effect. Edit: For reference, I was 40.

A man is allowed to want intimacy with a woman he just randomly approached but a woman is not allowed to want a husband and save her intimacy for that husband, apparently.

If you think sex is bad, then you're having it wrong. As are most of the men who just want to use women as a masturbatory aid rather than as a partner they give a shit about.

Lots of recently divorced / separated women looking for rebound fun Sure You get points as a guy simply for being a bit younger than them. It's big validation for women to hookup with much younger guys For some. For the rest of us it is cringy. I tried once and broke up with him because it felt like I was dating my son. They aren't insecure about seeking casual sex, and offer guidance in what they want. Yes, very often. They have more conscious view of time , less likely to be flaky Depends. The…

I don't have a problem with that as long as you are mindful of her possible discomfort and move on amiably instead of being acting like an ass because she either didn't want you or didn't have the time or interest to deal with you.

During the 3some? Yes. Because that was the boundary we set - we both needed to be there. NOT, go behind my back and sleep with her without me and hide it and lie about it. It would have been absolutely no better if I had gone behind his back and slept with her, because that is not what we agreed to.

It is NOT earning sex. Nobody said anything about earning sex. It's not like a gold star you get on your assignment in kindergarten. It is the point that if you want your partner to want to have sex with you, she actually has to like you.

I guess I misinterpreted the meaning or interpreted it differently. For me foreplay is something we do all day long, not 5 minutes before sex. Teasing touches, little kisses, flirty texts. So it starts at breakfast. It's not him making breakfast. We aren't really breakfast people though. I'm happy with just toast.

Do you.. do you not think a couple owes it to each other not to contribute to each other's bad mood? Indeed, to help alleviate their bad mood? Do you never look at your partner who is stressed and think, "hmm, he/she's had a bad day, I'll try to help out and relieve some of the pressure on them"? That's sad. Why would someone who is not in the mood for sex because her husband is a slob, want to entice sex? That's nonsensical. I thought duty sex was frowned upon here. On the other hand, If I'm in…

Sorry, if I resent you for being a manchild who expects me to clean up after him. I already have a job and it's not being your maid. So I'm not going to want to have sex with you. You not talking to me is not going to make me think "oh what have I done" and throw myself at you. It's going to make me think that my instincts were correct and you are in fact a manchild who would rather be petulant than just grow up and pick up after himself. And yes, it will eventually fail and I will be better off…

Thank you for your a straight answer. Sounds like she wanted kids and you didn't, which is a perfectly valid incompatibility with no real fault to assign. If the emotional side of the relationship was lacking, then it also makes sense that the sex was lacking. Cheating on her rather than just breaking up with her was not right, but we won't quibble.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/23 07:16 PM
21

And that's fine. If you don't want to pick up after yourself and they don't want to have sex with you because you are a poor partner and then you get mad and stop talking to them instead of throwing your socks in the hamper, you should probably just break up

Nobody is saying you need to negotiate desire. They are saying that you lose desire when you resent your partner. They aren't attempting to bargain with you for sex - they just don't want it, period, when you are not being an adult in your marriage/relationship. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/23 07:06 PM
13

It's not implied, you are projecting. The one doing the enticing is the one who wants to have the sex. If the man is not getting the sex he wants and he doesn't pick up after himself, he might draw a correlation. But apparently that would require too much self awareness for some men on PPD. Of course nothing is going to be 100% perfect. Nobody is looking for 100% perfect. If you occasionally leave your dishes in the sink, nobody cares. If you're a pig who never cleans up after yourself and expec…

I can find a man attractive and then go about my day not thinking about him ever again. A crush is more someone I find attractive, and think about him, want to know more about him. So different.

"Way too extreme" is an understatement. Nobody said it is your spouse's sole responsibility. What they did say is that a man who is a good partner is more sexually enticing than one who is not. A man who doesn't sit around letting his wife taking care of everything and is proactive about stuff, is going to have a happier wife and won't be fighting with her for a crumb of sex. That seems pretty obvious to me. I don't understand why you would think otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/08/23 06:10 PM

No I meant women loving marriage makes sense. You get all the benefits security and validation from one man and if you get bored of him you can file no fault divorce take half his shit and go fuck another dude Didn't you?

I read a horrible story today about a woman who literally sold her child to a pedophile for crack cocaine. The child was of course raped and murdered. They both deserve the dark cell, if not the death penalty.

It's more like, over a few months or years resentments will start to form because you are not helping her with your house and family and she will be less inclined to want to have sex with you because of all of that festering irritation from your lack of interest in being a partner. So we're talking a history of you being a slob, not just a singular instance.

If you stay at home they've have to support you and that makes you a gold digger treating them like a beta bucks but if you have a job that means you won't be able to cater to their every whim and do all the housework and cooking and blow them in between loads of laundry. Truly it is a conundrum.

It depends on how old he is. Up to mid20s, being a virgin is common and doesn't really detract from attractiveness. At age 40, more than 0 is sufficient. Were your 2 partners within solid long term relationships? If so, all the better. LTR sex is way better than casual.

I feel like we literally just had this post three days ago. And lo and behold, we did! So I'll just cut and pasted what I said way back then: There is no "should." There is what works best for the couple. I make more, by quite a bit. I also work more hours. I also do more housework. The reason I do more is because I work all my hours from home. So I can do a load of laundry or clean the kitchen when I have a few minutes throughout the day. He does not have that luxury. However you decide to divv…

If I'm in a relationship, it's with the expectation that we will be having regular sex. 90% of the time I am correct. There are situations that I will not want to have sex and that should be acceptable to my partner too. Not as in a dead bedroom, but maybe I'm exhausted or I'm feeling sick or I have some basic female reproductive organ issues. I'm not a 24/7 sex robot. Likewise, sometimes my husband worked a double or doesn't feel well or any number of reasons why he might not feel up to it. So …

Yes, you make generalizations and then throw them at women at an accusatory fashion, without even knowing enough about those women to know if the women suit your generalization, and then get mad when they don't fit your stereotype. Idk why you do that, it's annoying.

I have known at least 3 women in my life who were Pisces and were nuts. I don't even believe in Astrology but if I meet a woman and she gives unstable vibes, she's probably a Pisces. And she will want to be my new best friend. And I will let her, and then she will start stalking her ex-boyfriend or call me at 3:00 am to sob about something or need a place to stay because she hates her roommate that week. I don't have that problem with Pisces men.

I'm banking on him dying before me instead of divorcing me. (I'm kidding about that.) My MIL had to give up half of her retirement and half the proceeds of the sale of the house SHE paid for to her ex-husband. So I know how it works in my state.
