Anyway, I think everyone should learn how to forgive to himself. If you have blood in your veins, you'll make mistakes. Stressing over them is wrong. Life is short, the best you can do is to learn from your mistakes. True man. I suggest reading "On The Shortness Of Life", by Seneca. Life is short and it's thinking about this that brings me true joy at times.
You are a smoker and you are attempting to quit smoking. You finish work and walk into a bar and a friend offers you a smoke, but you're trying to quit. Persona A: "I can't" smoke. Persona B: "I don't" smoke. There's your situation; applied to anything it works the same. This is honestly what helped me stop completely, for over 3 years now. There are lots of other ways, but this paradigm shifting (whether said with these specific words) is what truly provokes long-term and LASTING change.
So many people focus on controlling the world, manipulating others, changing what's external. If only we focused more on manipulating the self, governing the self and dominating over our own inclinations would we truly be able to do the prior desire stated.
